- What would it look like if a T-rex had wheels? We don't know either. But we did get to put this RAM TRX to the test on our mountainous rally stage here at Team O'Neil.

Seriously though, you cover chassis dynamics, suspension, limitations of the stability systems, if the transmission does what you want, how good the OE tires are, and overall interior feel in 8-12 minutes. Keep it up!

I really don't have very high expectations given the sheer size and weight vs low speed cornering, even in warm temps - but, AYE!
This thing seems like an absolute riot, and that supercharger whine is just music to the ears.
This is my truck in the video and I've got 21,000 on it... its been a blast!
I really want to see you run that TRX with Blizzaks!

Not gonna lie this put me about 99% chubbed up. I’ve been a dodge junkie for 40 years now. A lot of the stuff they have put out over the last couple years is just out right sexy
I really wanted a hellcat charger before its gone, but I needed a truck to pull our camper and such. This was the perfect solution. The interior in my opinion is better than the charger/challenger hellcats by a mile. Best vehicle I've ever owned. it makes driving exciting again 😊
Not only will it rally, it will also baby by the looks of that rear car seat. Such a cool vehicle that can do pretty much everything.
An AWD 5.7l Charger or 300 would be VERY interesting as well

Nah these get stolen more, simply look a lil into where people sell there stolen cars & youl see, honestly chargers are thee most stolen, but trx’s are pretty often

I remember driving my dads truck with mud tires in the winter and sliding through an intersection even though I braked way before. Winter tires make a huge difference.

Could we have a simple update in time accuracy? You can mark the start/finish line & via video feed, you can accurately time when you've completed a full lap. This way, you won't have to divide your attention from the road, and the margin for error in time would be reduced.

Very concise but thorough review! I'd love to see a shakedown of a Silverado/Sierra HD Z71/AT4 with the L5P motor - and how "Auto 4WD" mode helps or hurts performance. Keep up the great work with these "Will it Rally" episodes!
Im decently sure the reason the ABS didn't turn off on the rear tyres is because there is a redundant system in there, meaning its likely got a second fuse box that will have a fuse for the rear ABS

As a TRX owner, who lives in FL, watching this video had my heart pounding. Amazing video and glad the truck came out in one piece, LOL. Just sub'd and look forward to past and future videos.
Drifting a WK2 V6 Grand Cherokee 4x4 would be pretty cool/interesting to see, since you see them everywhere..
Try holding the traction control off button for 10 or 15 seconds. The whole dash lights up like a christmas tree...
Love to see some old beater cars on here too. Maybe a condensed compilation. The new cars are great to watch for sure keep that coming too! But just some ideas from my personal stable of old rigs. 1999 eddie bauer expedition awd/4wd, 1999 ford contour, 1999 jeep wrangler sport. Great video!

Awesome video y'all, this was one I was really curious about. Gotta suggest the gen 2 Hyundai Accent again because as someone with lots of experience driving one, you'd be surprised how well they rally.

I have found this channel 5 - 6 yeas ago right before having a driver license, so I had a very good start at the beginning. It took me almost one month to start driving like you (rev matching, double clutching, left foot braking, clutchless shifting, driving position, trail braking, pendulum turns, drifting, etc) so now, after a lot of time of driving like this, I can say for sure that this is the right way of driving. I still have a lot to learn, but this is what I am doing every time I am driving :)
What you do here is amazing and I hope that I will be there one day to drive with you guys!

If you are doing big trucks with a ton of mass and a ton of power you should try the hummer ev. It might be hard (or impossible) to turn the abs and maybe all the stability controls off though...

It's wild how much worse you said it felt than the Durango... Is it really down to the tires? And if so, are there any large-format winter tires comparable to the Blizzaks or any AT/MT-styled tires that are suitable for winter?

fun fact the TRX is the only vehicle with the hellcat engine that doesnt have brembo brakes from the factory plus it weighs 7k lbs
It’s because they wouldn’t fit with the 18” factory wheels unfortunately
Would love to see a Ford with the Twin I-beam front suspension; mid-'90s and older Rangers/Explorers/F150s, Broncos/Bronco IIs. It's kinda like a swing arm suspension, but with even longer arms for better geometry(way less sketchy than swing arm!), so I've been curious about "Will [I-beams] Rally?" since I discovered this series. They can definitely desert it up with the best of them, but I'm not sure about the lower speed cornering found in rally. And, with so many of them out there, what better potential budget rally car candidate? RWD fun for days!
Love the TRX, but, at that hefty size & weight, it really is very desert-oriented, the lower speed stuff is a a tough one for the big beast. What they can do, they can do very well though, that's for certain!
Would a jellybean era F-150 in standard cab short bed have such suspension? I've seen those around and thought they looked fun to drive, along with those 2-door explorers from earlier on.
Similar issue when I was racing a Jetta but the opposite, abs was messing with us, we pulled the ABS fuse and it had some tie in with brake proportioning. The rears got all the brake.
What generation and motor Jetta did you race? I've got a beat up MK6 with the I5 I might do a rallycross build with.
@@flurpoid I have literally no idea it wasn't mine, I do remember cutting countertop material to shove in the strut mounts which helped handling immensely since there was a gap
@@flurpoid also I remember my buddy who had the car destroyed the oil pan on a speed bump in the work parking lot so I might not recommend it for rx unless you can get that reinforced or skid platted or something. I got a Corolla SE hatch six speed I'm selling tho lol
@supasexystick if he smashed the oil pan ill bet it was a mk4 jetta. I broke mine twice this summer before taking drastic measures so it won't happen again. For anyone curious, skid plate, mk3 steel pan( stronger and hangs down less) and engine mount spacers.

That being said, the Ram TRX is a truck I’d go broke trying to keep gassed up.

It can do everything except last a long time or get good fuel mileage.
I suspect these will be on the road much longer than most of the Ecoboost Raptors. This motor + transmission combo has been around for 8 years and proven pretty dependable.

I've driven Ram basic work trucks that have had the hell beat out of them and they're still smooth and rattle free. It's beyond me how Ford and Chevy guys shit on Rams when they sure as hell don't build a better truck.

Why are you guys constantly doing trucks? no one rallies a truck. this is wasted time. Meanwhile, there are literally thousands of Newer impreza owners out there, with an interest in rally, and your school provides it. Do a damn car next.
