Never been to this place but this makes me sad. We are losing everything that makes us a community. What a shame.
If you’ve never been to this place then why are you sad?
@@smpiano6605 empathy and compassion huh?? I live in the world where shit happens.. there’s no such thing as job security when you work for someone else.
Blame this on Biden and the Democrats, right. No GOP or republicans had anything to do with is closing. Nor did any white people have anything to do with this closing. Trump will re-open Enzo's across the US primarily in red states.
He said exactly why. "We are losing everything that makes us a community". I believe he is talking about small, independently owned businesses such as the one in this video. I agree with the sentiment.
Damn made me cry....to many places like this disappearing :/
So sad watching these legacy Mom & Pops go out of business...
So now Cook County will get zero taxes from the place. Good job!
Every business thinks they are taxed too much. Funny how New York and California federal taxes subsidize all the trump states.
@@justayoutuber1906 high Tax' ...Well, thats one of the things that has killed a lot of business'. The cost to do business is a lot higher now! Not just in blue states its happening in red one too .. thank potato
@@justayoutuber1906which are trump states? what about Biden states?
@@justayoutuber1906 congratulations! You get the award for the lowest IQ comment on this subject.
@@justayoutuber1906 and now the tax payers from blue states are moving to the Trump states...
Too bad Chicago is taxing people out of business. What number does this make so far this year?
This isn’t Chicago. This is Chicago Heights Illinois
@@TheloniousJacksonPeople are slow and don’t read
@@TheloniousJackson
doesn't matter. It is Illinois. City and county run by democrats love taxing everything. And we have the fat gov that wants to tax us more for his migrants
Same thing.
Sad that the politicians do pretty much nothing but raise tax and watch their towns fail.
Don’t say politicians. Be specific and say Democrats. The failure to identify the issue is why this is a problem in the first place. This is happening in San Fran, Oakland, Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Boston to name a few.
Blame this on Biden and the Democrats, right. No GOP or republicans had anything to do with is closing. Nor did any white people have anything to do with this closing. Trump will re-open Enzo's across the US primarily in red states.
I blame the republicans. They could do something to fix this, but would rather fight over stupid stuff.
@@mocowan6642 i blame you for not fixing the problems with all your wisdom
More taxes should fix the problem!
This is soooooo sad. I feel sorry for the next generation.or as you say generation Z. You will never know what good food tastes like again 😢😢😢
That is a prophetic statement. After 5 more years like the last 3 none of us will taste good food again. America will be Venezuela by the end of obamas 4th term .
That is a prophetic statement. By the end of obumas 4th term none of us will taste good food again.
I’ve been going to Enzo’s since 1993
It’s a sad time for the next generation of youth not to continue the support
Thank You Enzo for your service 💯
Forever grateful for your service to the community. Big Chief ( 3/3/2024)
Greedy government.
What an amazing business..... Enzo's Will be Missed
been goin there since 1985 . It was attached to the Carmel corn Shoppe
Looking at the cities demographics, they lost 25% of the population seemingly due to white flight. He's got the equipment, he should just move to a better location.
Is every restaurant closing??
Seems to be happening a lot across the country. A lot of once established ones too
All restaurants will soon be Taco Bell.
Carlos closed. It’s over.
The reporters eye brows are on "FLEEK' lol.
Every time I see this reporter I look at his eyebrows. Crazy
@@BJR7397 hilarious.
Ive never been to chicago. I feel sad to see a well known business close. Its sad they cant make enough to cover taxes and bills.
A shame a 75yr family owned business can't survive, FJB!
JB puts another business under. He "followed the science."
JB wasn’t around in the 80s when businesses and people started leaving Chgo. Hts, Matteson, etc.
@@keving9502 Businesses weren't going under in the 80's like the recent pandemic policies. Businesses were actually growing in the 80's.
wasnt science, it was potato's ''GREAT'' horrible economy. It costs too much to do business with high prices to buy their food, Ins, Tax' n rent .. its happening across the country for a few yrs. Ive seen restaurants make it through the pandemic only to die bc of inflation
Illinois hates business.
Elections have consequences. If you vote for a party that wants to spend big on things then the people have to pay. This isn’t something to cry about… this is what the people voted for. It’s going to be November in 8 months and you know what’s going to happen? The people of Chicago are going to vote the exact same way.
This isn't in Chicago and Chicago Heights and many south suburbs have been on this trajectory for decades, mostly as a result of good paying blue collar jobs being shipped overseas.
@@chicagosean69what does jobs being shipped overseas have to do with a restaurant being over-taxed? Did you even watch the video?
@@nomorenames5568 Have you ever been in Chicago Heights, Illinois? I grew up in the next town over, and most restaurants left 10, 15, 20+ years ago, and not just because of taxes. Chicago Heights is a shell of its former glory and not an economically viable place in which most restaurants would do well. While I acknowledge taxes suck, it's a simplistic copout to blame taxes alone. Young owner with his life in front of him doesn't want to live it running a joint in a run down town, and I can't say I blame him. Enzo's would probably do well in nearby Homewood or Flossmoor , or Indiana for that matter, but the fact that they're not just moving elsewhere tells us he just wants to get out of running an everyday restaurant, at least for now.
@@chicagosean69 the restaurant owner in the video said quote "we're shutting down because of taxes being too high and there's going to be a lot more of this happening if they don't come down"
@@chicagosean69so you odd one. Can’t figure out how you’d November. Strange indeed
I think blaming "taxes" is a cop-out. Taxes in NYC are higher and companies do just fine there. The problem with Chicago Heights is the lack of jobs, and lowered income levels since the 80s-90s.
STFU you have no idea what you’re even talking about
everyone who can is leaving that shithole
Crime rate is too bad 👎🏿 😔
Good. More tacos shops are needed in New Venezuela.

GREAT job mayor and city council..... !!!!!!! YOU ALL should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!!
Govt messing up a lot of things smh.
There's not 1 single thing that's "better" /or has improved in any way - small biz being taxed/robbed to death, crime is higher (regardless of the cooked "statistics"), basic groceries priced out of reach for many struggling families, endless debt from increased wars, increased censorship, and on and on)
This is so sad. I wish you the best.
It’s becoming too common an occurrence these days with businesses that have decades open closing for good.
When I lived in Homewood this place was worth the drive for crazy good sandwiches! Sad to hear it's closing but not surprised, Chicago Heights has always been sketchy. I can't imagine it's gotten any better. Also, Enzo's grandson is a hottie! 🔥
So much love to you Kyle and family
Build Back Better - Chicago voted for it
You do realize this is Chicago Heights not the city of Chicago?
The Joey BURDEN legacy - Build Back Bankrupt.
I don’t know it must be far away
I was like Chrissy like the Sopranos at that place. I had soft drinks of choice my entire life at that joint.
This is what's happening to our small businesses. Sad.
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to when "the rubber meets the road."
Lived behind Enzo's on School Street back in 1982, went there a lot. Their beef sandwiches were the best, we live in Phoenix, AZ and still compare all beef to theirs...no comparison. Sad to hear. 2:42
Come to DFW! We need more good Italian food restaurants here!
More homeless people and they going to raise rent too!😮
Rent is already high as hell in chicago people can't afford it. Your income has to be 3x monthly income 🤔? And it's worse if they found out you get ssi.
I'm so sorry 😢it haded to go
What a shame to tax a loved business so much it has to close.
Come to Atlanta
The incompetence in the last 6 years in Chicago government is astounding
all deliberate, all part of the plan
It's not that people didn't want to support Enzo's they couldn't afford to!
If decided to reopen do better advertising I've been in the south subs for almost 20 yr and never heard of them sad to hear 😔 you have to close
Do they still have those Scooby's hot dog and burger stands?
Best garlic cheese fries and sandwiches I ever had. Thank you Enzo's.
Oh nooo
the cashier at 1:31 has some nice knockers
Damn😂
Gotta love those naturals!!!
Harold's chicken is popular in Atlanta so can Enzos and big boys
People think they pay taxes to get government services. Instead, they get stories like this. The government regulates every little aspect of a business such that you have to pay accountants and lawyers just to keep your head above water. Sooner or later, it just isn't worth it. I just finished doing my 2023 taxes and left wondering why I do what I do. I should move on. Life at the beach in Mexico sounds much better than dealing with the chaos the US has created trying to earn an honest living.
@stevefritz5182, I understand that the government must have a certain degree of control over a business such as a restaurant (health inspections, food safety inspections, requirements to maintain certain types of insurance). That being said, there are many other requirements and procedures that are simply the government getting their cut and nothing more. That’s my pet peeve.
Blame this on Biden and the Democrats, right. No GOP or republicans had anything to do with is closing. Nor did any white people have anything to do with this closing. Trump will re-open Enzo's across the US primarily in red states.
Kickin whitey out to build wakanda 2.0
Working as the local politicians intended.
Chicago Heights is dying.
Sad Enzo's had very good food
Don't need fancy restaurants on the Plantation. MickeyD's and Popeyes is all the Plantation needs.
Too bad it couldn't sell the business.
Overtaxed. Out of control crime. Decaying and dying city.
Chicago Heights is a southern suburb of Chicago, not in the city.
This shit is happening in and around every major city in America.Peace from Woodlawn,a western suburb of Baltimore, not in the city.
It's actually The City of Chicago Heights@@CJinMono
Tax out of business. I suspect a taco joint will open up in this location very soon.
Where the other Enzo's Restaurant was on Harlem & Foster they knocked it down and built a Walgreens. So sad. I had my wedding reception there.
Kyle on the menu? 😛🥵
Noooooooo😮
Been going to this place since childhood very disappointing.
So zero tax revenue and a family business that literally serves the community out of business. Got it.
If the owners were smart they would have moved the business to Florida.
That taste was a place heaven has ever bestowed upon The Food Pyramid.! 🌯🌐💱🙏🤤
The grandson is a hottie 😍
So tired of today's youth giving up on a piece of history. Why buy the business then if you're not all in?
Over taxed too death
Where is RayRay and DeMarqmoolarizimbios go after a night of carjacking and looting?
😟
Bad area, get out! lol
Enzo it's just as well that they are shutting down. There food beef sandwich sucked in the past couple of years
Gotta get those tax dollars to pay for the migrant shelters
Controlled demolition
That’s just sad gov. Doing more harm to society than helping its just causing problems. People jobless now helping create homeless
So it sounds to me like there needs to be a change in direction that the city is on and you won't ever get that be continuing to vote for the same politicians.

Just watch some of "Campus Reform" videos where they are interviewing College Lyb's on student debt. They all say "raise taxes to pay our debt" or "The Government can pay for it" Well, THIS IS WHAT YOU GET for that mentality !
I kind of doubt they are closing due to poor sales.....Maybe due to poor money management and not enough changes made to suit the key demographic I mean the restaurant decor looks depressing......and him blaming it on being taxed too much was probably just a cheap shot to help his buddies or just for his own political agenda and you guys can tell getting customers is not a problem for them..... they put out saying it's our last night and they sold out and early now if people didn't care then they wouldn't have sold out of food because how many people would care enough to go.....My guess my analysis is that they are profitable just don't want to pay the high tax because I think they are making big money so I think they will just move to a red state and open a new restaurant or start another business venture and just using too much taxing as an excuse to go out as the good guys and at the same time gaining support for they political party....Again just my guess....I say this because a lot and a lot of big money corporations use the I'm a small business owner when they are making a ton of money....they use it as much as murders use the mental health excuse. ...So I'm not buying it....Sorry, sorry to break it to you.
