@@MarieAxelsson I wonder if they'd be a problem now if they were super strong (I wasn't playing in the old days so idk what it was like). I feel like radiation alone would make them less deadly but also if you didn't tackle it properly, your colony could die.
Your next challenge run should be only Bionic Dupes. If there’s a building that requires a normal dupe to operate, well you’ll have to call the Mysterious Hermit for help.
For your bionic dupes, the long term sustainable option is Eco Power Banks. They're made from Abyssalite, and can be recharged with good old fashioned electricity at a Recharging station, at the cost of 480 watts while it's running. I was crafting 4 eco banks per bionic dupe, but depending on how the math works out, you may be able to get away with less. Then I had at least one recharger station per dupe, but they were on only about half the time, so you can probably do 2 dupes to 1 station
Math-wise, Bionic dupes consume 120kj of power per cycle. 120kj/600 seconds = 200W. A Battery Charger consumes 480W and recharges the battery inside with 400W of that power. The remaining 80W is wasted. So 1 charger at 100% uptime exactly meets the power requirements of 2 Bionics. Adding an extra charger helps keep some spare batteries on hand for running the new Dischargers and Flydos.
>>19:10 Hospital requires toilet and sink buildings, but they are not required to be functional :) I always put them in and then promptly disable both.
This episode exhibits distinct lack of CHAOS in it. Which makes us, fans of RidgeGummy flavor of CHAOS, quite unsatisfied We need a hacker to take over one of the new bionic dupes and have them uncork remaining zombie spores plants
To be more accurate, pacu eggs. A freaking pacu gives more than 2k cal per day. And you can even automate the omelette cooking by putting the eggs in storage inside a steam room, let it there until the viability goes to 0, and the temperature will convert it into an omelette. OP. Until Klei patches it...
I personally think there should be a much better color pallet for the germ overlay. Even when I look at it in search of the elusive zombie spores I can miss seeing them. They are the worst germ and yet the hardest to see. Good video as always.
I would like to thank the faculty at Echo Ridge University. Without you, and your commitment to dupe safety, I would never have been able to achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.
The reason you are only getting bionic dupes is you already have all of the regular dupes. The game is designed to block duplicate dupes until you have all in play.
Yaaay! Wires are colored with the new dlc! CLICK! Cursed the run with double chaos and can't tell what the new wire color is to the masses. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
The simplest way to deal with the gas that gets stuck in the bridge for the SPOM is to just link it to the pipe right beside it. With that said, this is one hell of a way to get into the new DLC. lol
I'm pretty sure that the printing pod skews the odds of printed dupes towards those you haven't printed yet. In my current nearly 5000 cycle colony, it gave me 3 Freyja's at the same time when the Frosty pack came out.
You have an exposed sporechid seed at the amber covered fossil. That means there was a live Sporechid there before the atmo conditions killed it off, but zombie spores take ages to die off, so the exposure came from the pockets of spores that were still lingering.
I feel like pacu are you're best bet for cal/tile space. You just need a sustainable source of seeds. So plan whatever you can sustain, even if you can't use it, feed the seeds to pacu for seafood, and if the crops aren't needed, feed the rot to polkshells for molts or more seafood. The polluted dirt from the paku can also be used to feed a puft ranch for slime to use to grow caps. More seeds and rot piles.
Next challenge series: Oxygen Not Included, but you only have 1 bionic dupe. Using Spaced out ships. Call the dupe: The Engineer, and the colony, BOTanical Meyhem. Bonus points if the base relies on ranching and/or farming.
I'm thinking you'll actually want that squeaky puff ranch; slime can be turned into phyto oil (learned from a Luma video). BUT, you do have access to all that oil... so your call. But boiling gunk into petrol+sulfur... that sounds fun too! Lots to learn, obviously. =)
The reason the ranch is so overfilled is because you have it set to just grubgrub wormlings (probably because you hadnt discovered grub grubs yet when it started) so it doesnt count adults
The problem with your grubgrub farm is that the critter drop off is only selected to count babies, so when they turn adult they are no longer counted (I learned this the hard way...). If you select both young & adult critters, it will count properly, as they now only count the selected critters, not all critters in the ranch.
You might want to try the "Skill Queue" mod. It would let you queue up all the skills you want your dupes to have when you print them. They will automatically be learned as they gain skill point.
Voles are still the best food source, IMO, provided you have regolith collection, but you don't have access to that asteroid yet. Next would be hatches fed by volcanoes. Then maybe 2-3 pacu breeder tanks?
The Power Bank Charger says that it charges the Eco Power Bank at 400W. I'm guessing that means the building itself requires an additional 80W. 1 watt = 1 joule per second. So a 120 kJ eco power bank should require 300 seconds (half of a cycle) to charge.
Hey echo, I’m a super new player , I’ve got hundreds of hours and I’ve never gotten to renewable power but a couple of times and your videos are helping and i know the chances of you seeing this comment may not be very high but if you would take the effort to do a vido on all the buildings that can be used underwater that would help a lot. I didn’t know autosweepers worked under water and that’s game changing so i know I’m missing something else too so yahh. Thanks for making content!
In theory you can cut down on the amount of calories you need just by printing robo-dupes. I haven't got the DLC yet but from the looks of it, they don't need to eat.
Echo, i had a save with farms using nuke rad to energy, industrial sauna and food. if u want to see, that can help to increase food producing to this large amount of dupes
Echo, you don't need oxygen tanks, bionic dupes will get oxygen from environment ( you have to take a look on animation, it's really funny looking, pinky promise! ).
