I honestly come back to this video whenever I need a sudden burst of inspiration. Thank you Michelle for continually inspiring me to work hard even if it feels like the world is melting.
Is it weird that I teared up a little during this? I feel after all these years of watching your videso (+6 years) I really got to know your beautiful soul and I'm so happy that I did. Thank you so much, Michelle, for teaching me so much about more than just makeup. You inspire me day by day. Thank you, from the absolute bottom of my heart.
Cant agree more.... Her voice, character and soul make one wanna watch her over and over... Very relaxing. You can let a sigh in this crazy world just waching her. Miss you Michelle.
3 years ago I saw this video and decided I would visit Vietnam someday, then I chose Vietnamese as my third language at the uni and last year I spent the whole academic year in Hanoi university. Never thought it would happen. After watching the recent video of Michelle I went here and had all that memories back in 2016.. and all the goosebumps. funny how life goes
I LOVE THIS VIDEO BECAUSE IT PROVOKES SPIRITUALITY. NOT ANY PARTICULAR PATH OR ROUTE AS YOU STATED, BUT SPIRITUALITY PERIOD. THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING! THAT IS WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS MORE OF. THAT IS WHAT CHANGES THE WORLD. THANK YOU FOR THAT!
Hah peaceful? I always woke up at 6am because this guy rode around with speakers saying "MEATBUNS! ONLY $3! MEATBUNS!" ( ; v ; ) they all start their days so early there
This might sound weird, but your video inspired me to get rid of all the unnecessary things I have in my life: today I donated my old clothes, I took out 4 bags of stuff I didn't need at home and, the most important thing for me, I finally let go the toxic people I had in my life. I was hurt by someone, but I still had his family on my social media. Today he became a father and all facebook was full of pictures of him, which reminded me all the pain he made me feel. Today I politely talked to his family and permanently deleted them from my social media, in order to cleanse my social life and erase all that pain forever. I wonder why I didn't do this before. God, that was so hard. But thank you for such inspiring view of life. I can't wait to see what mine has to offer, now that I walk my path weight-free.
First of all amazing video! Second I was holding my breath to see Dom in this video because I wanted see if you were both still together. I'm so glad that you two are! 😍😍😍😍😘
I watched this video in 2016 and immediately decided to add Vietnam to my bucket list. Fast forward to 2019 and I am finally planning my trip there with my friend. I am so excited! Thank you Michelle for highlighting the beauty of this country ❤️❤️❤️ Update: my trip was in Nov 2019.. It was an amazing experience. I will surely be back, Vietnam has so much to offer and I am not done with it yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Coming here every time need inspiration and sparks to live better... and after 8years this video still inspiring ... thanks M ... you really am inspiration and.. the video is still relevant for today's standard... even though it was 8 years ago
+Femke van Bree VN is beautiful, but you have to feel it. Take long time, see a simple things like people, activities, weather... Feel it, don't see it :)
I've always wanted to go to Vietnam. Since my whole family was born and raised there. I hope I have a chance to meet my family in person for the first time and explore the wonders of Vietnam.
I really wish I could go back and explore my roots. Being a Black-American, the farthest back I could trace was a South Carolina plantation. Luckily, I've learned to love my Black American culture and I've began to love jazz, hip-hop, styles of dance, black literature, gospel, soul food, and much more. It's all about perspective.
Good for you!! The amount of black culture that is available in America is amazing. The music styles they were such a huge part of are awesome, and the literature is beautiful! ✌🏼and ❤️
Skyebright1 Trust me, I've tried. I don't think people realize how many black people's roots really are lost, and it's almost impossible to retrieve them. Even if I knew what country my ancestors are from, I have no living relatives there.
+owwlexandra I was JUST thinking "that awkward moment when you're black and have no idea what country you come from..." Maybe a trip around the South to experience a different kind of black culture would be nice for me!
The Dark people's were already here before the Black Holocaust. They just brought over additional Dark people. I've met with Dark people who families owned islands and land in this country and were never enslaved.
hi Michelle, the first time i saw your video 7 years ago, and now i come to see it again. idk how but whenever i see this video, it makes me calm. maybe i will visit Vietnam someday, love you from Indonesia
this video is breath taking ... i had to watch it again as soon as it ended thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a beautiful way..so gentle and yet so powerful
+Michelle Phan i watched it more than 5 times, it really is breath taking i never watched such a nice n inspirational video before.. no words to describe how perfect this video is
+Michelle Phan may god bless u for sharing your knowledge with us.. u motivate me so much on working on my own business.. ur like a big sister love you :-*
Wow this is so beautiful. Maybe i will experience my own life. And what it means. Every word has a meaning. Every talent has a gift. And everywhere you go, will lead to a beautiful land where love and friendship lives. And they are waiting for us. With our name on it. And they want us to reach our dreams. And turn them into a reality. Everyone has an imagination. Has an inspiration. And i want to thank all of the people around this world. I want to thank 7 billion of you. And Michelle Phan (Cuz, my name is also Michelle), For inspiring me to reach my dream and fulfill my wishes and make them into a reality and a dream come true. *tears up*
Year. Vietnam is really amazing. Especially, Ha Long Bay, it's one of seven wonders of the world, or if you 'd like to explore an ancient city: Hoi An will be appropriate. Ha Noi is a capital of Vietnam, very incredible with the food names "bún chả" If you wanna visit beautiful beaches, you can travel to Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Vung Tau. Moreover if you wanna discover flowers' city, you should go to Da Lat. Or even you wanna find and feel some countrysides, you should go to Vinh Long in which has a lot of paddy fields and fruits such as rambutans, oranges, grapefruits, mangoes, or durians. Some foreigners said that they didn't like the strong smell of durians but I really love it. Now, I am studying in Can Tho, if you wanna visit this city, you can ask me, I am willing to introduce not only one city but also whole cities in Vietnam. I've been coming to Ninh Kieu Quay ( a tourist attraction in Can Tho in which have foreigners) to talk with them. I really love the friendly people from different countries. I love to shoot the breeze regardless sore throat :)) . Finally, If you like finding some foods in Vietnam, you can't ignore : Bún chả in Hà Nội, Bún Bò Huế ( Hue city), Phở ( almost everywhere), banh mi, bánh tét ( sticky rice cakes, especially often eat in Lunar New Year), bánh xèo ( a kind of special crepe),bánh tráng nướng ( grill rice paper),.... Regards From Vietnam
It's such an incredibly impressive introduction of Vietnam - our hometown">). As a Vietnamese as well, I'm proud of u so much. It's a big honor for me to see u someday somewhere.
it was nice to see a little bit of Dom again, I'm glad you are still together c: there's a guy in my math class who looks just like a mini Dom it always surprises me when I see him xD
Michelle!!!!!! You took my breathe away and inspired the crap out of me. Thank you so very much for this beyond amazing video! As a Vietnamese who was born and raised in Saigon myself, I couldn't be more proud of you, you made tear up, honestly! I bow down to you the real QUEEN! Slayed the existence out of UA-cam!
This is why i love Michelle. She is such a light hearted and very talented individual. I remember being 12 watching her videos thinking i want to be like her and be successful. I am 19 and still watch her videos when I can. The ONLY reason i know how to do my makeup properly is because of her lol. She inspires me to this day to continue with my education to be a game designer and graduate from college.
Oh this brings me back memories, what I love about Vietnam is, mostly if you come from the farm lands and live a CRRRRRAZY distant from everyone, the people, besides your family that are closest to you, are your family. I still remember walking down that hot dusty day, with the sounds of birds and the smell of mud water as I walked next to the beds of the rice beds. Once and a while I would hear a motorcycle run by and we would wave at each other. As I would walk, I would greet people, elder or baby as I walked by their houses, surrounded by a gate wall. As I touched the gate wall, I would reach my grandma's house and the one thing I would do once I got home, was to drink that angel milk we bought at the super market, I forgot what it was called, but she would give it to me when I couldn't be able to sleep. Then the next morning, I would wake up, put on clothes I don't wear anymore and run out of the house with my boots can gloves. With my bamboo hat and my basket.
I would run to my grandmama's rice beds and greet the woman that were working to plant and pick out ready plants that would be turned into rice. I always had a hard time doing it since I was so short and I would always end up falling. So when I finally gave up on trying, I would greet the ladies good bye and play with the other children. We didn't have much over when I use to live there, no fancy toys or fancy clothes and technology. It was peaceful. It was simple.. It was what I needed to grow up and learn, even the simple things in life. Are the best. Man I got so sad when my fm silly sold that mini villa and moved to America, I missed having those gate door ways and those wall gates, but it doesn't hurt me much. That was my childhood
This girl was never just meant for being a beauty guru. In this era, where people get excited about the fame, the shows, the pr packages and collaborations, this girl makes me believe that there is hope left. She was and still is, meant for something bigger than a person at that stage could imagine. Thanks Michelle, for teaching me to look at the bigger picture and greater good. Love you!
I see some of you are putting her work down or dismissing her beautiful message because the say she is not Christian. I know alot of "Christian" people that aren't connected to God . You can be connected to God without claiming a religious denomination. You just have to be a good person, with kind heart. The Universe is God and God is the Universe. So who are you to judge on Michelle's relationship with God? Each relationship is personal and private. People, leave the judging to God. This girl is not perfect- neither are you. Great job + Michelle Phan... .love & light
+Lola Hernandez With all due respect, the idea that the universe is God is akin to saying that a painting painted itself. It makes no sense. The Creator is not the creation. They are 2 separate things. I used to be a non-believer, but now I have no doubt that Jesus is the truth. There aren't many different, conflicting truths (that is illogical). There is one truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." That may be a controversial statement, but it is absolutely true. But I'm not here to debate. I just wanted to reply to what you said. :) Peace.
I feel sad watching this. I mean it's beautiful, but I think I feel sad because I know I can't go to these beautiful places. I work in a warehouse, and I'm going through school, and it's what everybody is doing right now. I don't know. It's a weir mix of jealousy, sadness, but also happy that Michelle gets to live such a magical life. At least someone gets to, y'know lol.
+Vicky A I got you babe. Sometimes I feel jealous too of what other are having. base on my current situation I dont think myself can afford to live such a life and have such amazing experience, like travelling abroad for instance. But I believe that if we keep dreaming and work hard, at least one of that would happen eventually. I mean dont let your hope die at the very first place. Have positive mind!
yes! you can go to beautiful places like her. you just have to work really hard for it.. doesnt matter where you came from or what you have right now, the important thing is that your doing something to achieve where you want to be.
Heyy, I really feel you. Jealousy is so easy to feel and so not talked about. But listen. You have school. This is such a small, temporary part of your life. When I was in high school, I never dreamed that I would be able to travel... Fast forward to college, I'm able to travel solely BC of scholarships and loans that are allowing me to travel abroad. Take in the life you have. Take in the love you have. Take a walk at wherever is pretty next to you. If not, take a day and read every book in your home, or go out and see all the different flowers there are. If there are no flowers, count the clouds. There is so much beauty around us all. Feel your sadness and your jealousy, but let it make you learn, and let it make you dream of a better future. You got this!
This was probably the most inspirational and touching video for me in a few years. The past year, I've been wondering who I am and what I want to be. In order to realize who I am, I think it's important to know where you came from and what shaped you the way you are now. You've inspired me to take action. Figure out where I came from, who I am. And by doing that I know where I want to be in life. Thank you. Would love to see more like this from you!
She's a great inspiration to young women and I love the work she's doing. But once she hit big we kinda lost the makeup guru. I've been watching her since she started and I absolutely loved watching her grow but sometimes simplicity is key. All I'm saying is that I just want her to go back to what made us all watch her in the first place.
+ChokolateFace she's just transforming and becoming who she truly is. We all do this. We all go though change and discover who we are. Of course she will be different then 6 years ago. Aren't you ? If we appreciate her, then we will support her. I personally enjoy seeing her growth and change into this beautiful woman she is today ! Love you Michelle !
Michelle, I know you're never going to read this but I want to talk to you about your channel. It seems as if, over the past year or two, that it has distanced from you as a person. We're seeing a lot of other people take over your videos, which is fine, but it's not really 'Michelle Phan' anymore. I love videos like this; I love your creativity, and God knows we all miss your makeup tutorials. We know you're getting busier by the minute, and branching out to fulfilling other dreams you may have. If you do come back to this channel (we haven't seen you in over a month) I'd love to see more of this creative vibe, and discussing spirituality like you begin to in this video, rather than putting out content that doesn't really seem personal to you. Love you always, Hettie xox
alessia dellerba humans don't have an obligation to give anything to another whether that be an explanation or physical items ~ and we shouldn't expect anything either
Hayshaybee. I strongly disagree. Miss Phan set up this channel to reach out and cultivate viewers Which brought her success. Fans and subscribers should ,reasonably expect her to continue that which attracted them. If not, she should either change the name or shut it down and move on.
My good friend is Vietnamese and her grandma always makes the best Vietnamese dishes. I have been interested in Korean and Chinese culture for a while now but after watching this video I'd truly love to go to Vietnam one day. Beautiful video and AWESOME cinematography. ♥♥
I feel like a lot of us really want to explore our own culture but can't afford it. It would be nice to go to the country or place that we came from but I really can't because of money. Does anyone else feel that we should be able to do what we want without worrying about money?
I feel the same way. I'm Jewish but have never been to Israel. And the flight is just so expensive. Going to the country of my people is so important to me. If money weren't an option, i would go as much as possible.
+Arya Een OMG you have no idea how proud I am of you only hearing one side of a story done by Fox News! Did you know we warned people to evacuate the area and they didn't listen. Not only has my culture been fighting for what's rightfully theirs for thousands of years but it's the only place where anyone of any culture can be in peace. Why don't you listen to someone other than white Christians for real information.
+blossem no thanks. I'm gonna keep supporting my country that's trying to defend itself from 10+ countries trying to explode it. Say what you want but when a country wants to defend itself for almost 70 years people will get hurt and that's tough luck. America does it all the time. You can't fight a war without death. And sure those deaths are awful and tragic but they happen. When a country wants to defend itself for the sake of the country and its people they have to make some difficult choices. Weather you like it or not.
This is so beautiful! As a White Person* I don't really have a culture besides Basic American Culture* and I've always found it very interesting and beautiful that people have a heritage and a history. Great video!
+Random UA-cam Watcher I understand that my privilege gives me advantages. I'm just saying that I find it interesting and beautiful that people have a culture with history when I'm just a basic mayo white boy with no history.
I don't get the negative comments on this video, it's so unnecessary. It was a beautiful video with no ill intention at all (no endorsements, no ads, nothing) and has a genuine message so just enjoy the video and stop being such a Debbie Downer. I just found out about Michelle Phan through this video without having any prior thoughts about her and I teared up at how gorgeous this was.
It doesn't even have a meaning to it or any judgements. Nothing in this universe has meaning (philosophy wise) so relax and enough with the negative comments. Jeez
+Super Princess Tea Party cause everybody is chasing after money and acceptance and reputation. Some rich guy said: I hope everybody will once get rich as I am. Then they will recognize that all that doesnt matter in life. :) thats why rich people suddenly talk about the university thinggg
That's not true at all. My sister and I are far from being rich in money but we are rich in our spiritual faith. Maybe Michelle has started this path long ago and it has helped her to make the decisions to get where she is. Spirituality is so much more than having the money to travel, buying expensive things, or having a nice big house or beautiful car.
I love hoi an city! The atmosphere is completely beautiful,it's great to learn about your heritage and roots expecially when you live in a country like the USA or Canada. It's important to have bonds with your heritage and learn about it. Thank you Michelle Pham for being such a great role model! I will take your experience as a guide to life and my potential career when I'm older and still in the process of learning about me as a person in this life.
Michelle! The first time i saw this video i was like “woww that river is so beautiful”, and earlier this month i had a chance to visit vietnam and go to Ninh Binh. It was beautiful, indeed! Thanks for this video :’)
I dont get why people say "Michelle has changed" or "I miss the old Michelle" , just because she has branched out and makes other types of videos doesn't mean anything , she still makes tutorials but not JUST tutorials which is why I watch her videos as a guy and Im not ashamed one bit . Michelle is filled with so much wisdom and advise , let's let her share that wisdom .
i start to cry every-time i watch a michelle phan video. she represents so much of what youtube was and when she left i feel like she took old you tube with her.
I come back to this video from time to time. It inspires me. It gives me the gentle but needed nudge to bump me back onto my path when I stray from it. Thank you Michelle. I miss your videos loads!
+Dafni Chalikia As your grow up, you realize there are certain aspects of your life that you want to keep private, especially as a public figure. Dom and I are still together and happy as ever, but we keep it offline now :)
+Michelle Phan if you guys are still together, im so happy. you guys are meant for each other and i wish i'll see you in singapore soon just randomly. I've watched your first video and until now, YOUR AWESOME♡
This video is almost beautiful and I was really impressed and inspired up until you were killing lives. No one is perfect, right. I can say you seem to have everything, and be a whole around good person. Only there is still a big chunk of "good" missing, that comes with understanding all lives are equal, all living beings (human or not) suffer, want to live, and are the same as us. The day you figure that out, and decide that it's time to take that step, which I know you will, after finding this inside of you that this is wrong... then I will be here clapping and cheering you on. Until then keep spreading your positive messages, but please, keep animals OUT of it. Be respectful of them. Mother Earth appreciates it.
+Mc C. I admire your passion for equality for all life forms, however, it's not realistic in the age of capitalism. I do try to respect life as much as I can, but in 2016, it's hard to buy, eat, and do something that doesn't harm another life ( oil, plastic, medical industry, etc ) Even the phones and computer we use contain cobalt mineral which is mined by children in Africa where their human rights and freedom are stripped, all in the name of making more money.... In regards to the fisherman, he only fishes to feed his family, never taking too much. In the world of compromise, I'd rather eat a fish that was caught by a humble fisherman than a fish that comes from an industrial fishing method that strips the ocean of fishes for capital gain. In the end, I agree with you, it's a beautiful ideal to have, but in the current state of affair, we have to compromise. Let's pray and work towards building a better tomorrow by starting today, brick by brick.
+Michelle Phan The intent isn't to live a zero impact life because you are correct by saying that is impossible in the current status of our culture. The goal is to minimize what we contribute to the best of our abilities. I appreciate you supporting a fisherman and trying to buy meat consciously - that is definitely better than purchasing from commercial fish farms. But when you are at home, living your day to day routine life, do you buy your meats from fishermen, butchers or farmers? Or do you buy meat from the market? To repeat your words, we do want to work towards building a better tomorrow. We can truly believe this philosophy and pray on it, but it will remain nothing more than words until we make action. The bricks that lead to a better tomorrow include us raising awareness in ourselves and others and, more importantly, spending our money consciously. Almost half a million animals were saved from slaughter last year in the US because of celebrities living vegan, #MeatlessMondays challenges, an increase in documentaries/footage, etc. With over 8 million people enjoying the content you provide, someone like you has so much power and opportunity to really create change. I'd bet you could double the number of animals saved this year without even saying a word, but just by living the example. If you end up reading this, I hope you don't find it spiteful - that is not my intention. With the path you seem to be following (at least the one you are portraying), I agree with OP and believe you will make the connection in your own time.
I'm 100% Finnish. I still have never felt like I belong here. Mom told me that I wrote little stories about little Chinese girl. I always watched documents about China. Everything was about China for me ever since I was a child. My friends or family and no one ever told me what is in China what so ever. I just felt "homesick". At the age of 15 I had lots of knowledge about China, studying the language is super easy for me, I made friends from China through online. I felt like I HAVE to go there. Last summer I finally got this chance. I visited China for three weeks and I felt like home for the first time. I felt like I belong there. I'm not shy and quiet Finnish who enjoy snow. Could it be possible that human has many different lifes? Was I Chinese in my previous life? Now again I feel HOMESICK to China. Something that I can't fully explain but one thing I know for sure. I will live there in future.
I agree, your story is very interesting. Many cultures do believe in past lives. Buddhists believe that we can be reincarnated many times. I wish you all the best in finding a place to live in where you feel is home.
I feel the same thing, but with another country. My parents don't understand why I want to go to the USA so badly and I don't know either. I just feel like this and the strange thing is that I've never been there, my parents have never been there and I don't know how's like to live there. I just feel there is right. I thought I was strange, but now I think maybe I'm not.
I don't know the reason why I cried when I saw this video. Maybe the love Michelle spends for Vietnam touched my heart, and I also realized that Vietnam is so beautiful and beloved. Love you Michelle, I 'm so proud of you.
Vietnam Airlines needs this as their commercial!
+Donna Le i agree!
I agree!! Just watching, made me want to go!
+Donna Le Like TRUE I mean srsly Vietnam NEEDS THIS TYPE OF COMMERCIAL VIDS. Those they made are LITERALLY THE WORST.
+Vy Nguyen lol thats not how you promoting your country girl.
True :)))
One thing I admire most about you is that you are extremely disciplined within yourself. You seriously were born for this life.
Michelle's voice is really soothing, especially in this video. She should be a voice actor (like in that Marvel game) or record an audio book.

"There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." - Michelle Phan
This video makes me feel that life is wonderful. ❤
Hers is, at least.
Good for you! No need to dwell on the past and on toxic people. Look forward to a fresh, new 2016!
So wonderful to read how strong you are! You're always in my prayers from now xxx
AWESOME !!!!
Mich and now you are an Inspiration to me.
Keep It Up ❕💪😚
+Kiki Contreras Purge all the toxins and start over with a blank canvas. Good luck majestic one!
First of all amazing video! Second I was holding my breath to see Dom in this video because I wanted see if you were both still together. I'm so glad that you two are! 😍😍😍😍😘

So true😂
I watched this video in 2016 and immediately decided to add Vietnam to my bucket list. Fast forward to 2019 and I am finally planning my trip there with my friend. I am so excited!
Thank you Michelle for highlighting the beauty of this country ❤️❤️❤️
Update: my trip was in Nov 2019.. It was an amazing experience. I will surely be back, Vietnam has so much to offer and I am not done with it yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Have a nice trip :)
Have a nice trip ;) Vietnam is a wonderful place to travel actually.

+BetyBenz thank youu xD
I just went to Vietnam last summer. Hoi An and Danang was beautiful. This video makes me want to go back 😍💖💖
Ikr, there are more interesting places you can visit in Da Nang
+Vy Lynn yea and the beach is so nice. lol I travel in Vietnam more than I've traveled in the u.s. 😂 I can list so many towns I've been to
I flew back yesterday! Da Nang was sooo beautiful it was breath taking.
Did u visit Ba Na Hills? I just came back from Vietnam yesterday what a coincidence 😂
+Lena Le I visited Ba Na hills! Loved it there
"If the universe is like water, and you flow with it, you'll be led to where you need to be" beautiful 😍

>Ok, detox done
+dystopiadream 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
+Michelle Phan Omg! I love your videos! You should make more videos like this!
omg this comment!! so true
Her voice is so calm and spiritual! Loved it 💚
This is such a beautiful video.❤️ I'm definitely inspired to travel back to Taiwan this year.
Thắng Đoàn Trọng I think what she meant was she was inspired by this video and want to go back to her homeland - Taiwan.
+Flora Tran Actually her homeland is Vietnam, not Taiwan
박해린 Is that so? I saw her family name is "Wong" and thought that she's Taiwanese.
+박해린 I believe they're talking about angel wong here not michelle
Agness Yin Yes, I am talking about Angel Wong.
"There's a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path."
Vietnam looks so fun! I need to go to the motherland as well!
I've never been to Vietnam! Makes me want to visit my culture even more.
mine is so far ! spain .
Maybe look into African countries? With the national geographic you can get your dna tested, maybe find out exactly where your ancestors came from ;)
Good for you!! The amount of black culture that is available in America is amazing. The music styles they were such a huge part of are awesome, and the literature is beautiful! ✌🏼and ❤️
Skyebright1
Trust me, I've tried. I don't think people realize how many black people's roots really are lost, and it's almost impossible to retrieve them. Even if I knew what country my ancestors are from, I have no living relatives there.
+owwlexandra I was JUST thinking "that awkward moment when you're black and have no idea what country you come from..."
Maybe a trip around the South to experience a different kind of black culture would be nice for me!
The Dark people's were already here before the Black Holocaust. They just brought over additional Dark people. I've met with Dark people who families owned islands and land in this country and were never enslaved.
Omg so happy to see you and Dom, haven't seen him in a vid in ages haha
I LOVE HOW HER VIDEOS ARE SO PROFESSIONAL AND BEAUTIFUL LIKE HOW DO YOU DO THAT?
Cause she has an entire team to do this lol
hi Michelle, the first time i saw your video 7 years ago, and now i come to see it again. idk how but whenever i see this video, it makes me calm. maybe i will visit Vietnam someday, love you from Indonesia
this video is breath taking ... i had to watch it again as soon as it ended
thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a beautiful way..so gentle and yet so powerful
+Karin Egri Thank you!
*tears up*
+LittleMichelle12 What a beautiful comment. Thank you for that.
- from another Michelle
Michelle Phan Your welcome. Thank you for inspiring my life. I would never forget this moment. :)
+Michelle Phan i also started from vietnam but i am and singapore now thx to u , u inspired me😊😊☺
This video is so beyond inspiring, the fact that you're an ODESZA fan though... Made me love you even more.
Regards
From Vietnam
It's such an incredibly impressive introduction of Vietnam - our hometown">). As a Vietnamese as well, I'm proud of u so much. It's a big honor for me to see u someday somewhere.
I’m going to Vietnam for a month next year, this is helpful! Very excited to explore your beautiful country:)
it was nice to see a little bit of Dom again, I'm glad you are still together c: there's a guy in my math class who looks just like a mini Dom it always surprises me when I see him xD
The beauty in this video made my heart ache with happiness and wanderlust. I'm so happy for you, Michelle 💜
Glorious! I love Vietnam, now I want to go back....
That was my childhood
yaaaass this video slayyyyysss!
+TianaCosmetics OMG. O.O
Well said, totally agree.
a lot of people like to think that way and it sounds all fuzzy and warm but the Bible says there is only one way and that is through Jesus.
+Mollie Rollman and yes there are a lot of "Christians" who really do not know Jesus. It's a relationship.. not religion.
:) Peace.
+Lily Marie That's very true. :)
I'm going to Thailand, Cambodia, Bali, KL and Vietnam this year ahhh I'm so excited :) it looks amaze balls!
welcome to vietnam;:)
+nicole nicole So exciting! Have fun :)
Welcome to Malaysia! Hope you have a nice holiday here!!!! 💕
Welcome to Indonesia :D
Welcome to Cambodia it's gonna be so much fun
I feel sad watching this. I mean it's beautiful, but I think I feel sad because I know I can't go to these beautiful places.
I work in a warehouse, and I'm going through school, and it's what everybody is doing right now.
I don't know. It's a weir mix of jealousy, sadness, but also happy that Michelle gets to live such a magical life.
At least someone gets to, y'know lol.
Naw I got you. It's so pretty but expensive as hell too. Save up then you can go when you're older and maybe savor it more!
In time you will be able to go wherever you want. Hold on to what you really want and work for it :) Accomplish and be happy ☺
yes! you can go to beautiful places like her. you just have to work really hard for it.. doesnt matter where you came from or what you have right now, the important thing is that your doing something to achieve where you want to be.
I'm Vietnamese and this video makes me feel so happy because the Lat time went was at 3. I'm now 11😊😘
Where were you at in Vietnam?
+Tina mai who? you mean Michelle? I heard that her mother's from Da Nang City
She visits Saigon a lot but when she was in the ocean it looked like it could be some of those islands off of Hanoi
Last time I visited was when i was 7😊
+britney pham hanoi is in the north, the islands are in the east
I'll always love Michelle, but I just miss her old makeup tutorials from back in the day
me too😕
+ChokolateFace then go watch them....
+amishasweetie chill
Love you Michelle !
omg im so happy to see dom.
lol me too. I was thinking...I hope they didn't break up.
missbrownies90 yup!
+missbrownies90 I believe they are still together but choose to keep their relationship off the Internet & more on the private side.
The video aesthetics have made me replay it for over an hour, It is so beautifully edited and directed, some of the shots you have are beyond amazing!
This like a travel commercial for Vietnam
She collaborated with Vietnam's tourist board
a good one actually :)) even better than real commercial :))
+Sara Nordström I was thinking the same haha
it is her native soil. when you come back your country and take a photo. is it a commercial pic?
I got mad because i just miss my older sister Mich cause she's been so gone in UA-cam then i watched this. I still love her I knew it.
+Sinon Missed you too. Glad to be back ❤❤❤❤
+Michelle Phan omg! you replied! I'm proud of you! You're not only a youtuber for me! you're a star!
absolutely breath taking how this video was shot! Beautiful and inspiring
Henrietta Moore
I agree we deserve an answer aswell.. We might just be subscribers but we really do care about her
Henrietta Moore agree!!!
alessia dellerba humans don't have an obligation to give anything to another whether that be an explanation or physical items ~ and we shouldn't expect anything either
Hayshaybee. I strongly disagree. Miss Phan set up this channel to reach out and cultivate viewers
Which brought her success. Fans and subscribers should ,reasonably expect her to continue that which attracted them. If not, she should either change the name or shut it down and move on.
You should watch the video she uploaded today, it explains everything
My good friend is Vietnamese and her grandma always makes the best Vietnamese dishes. I have been interested in Korean and Chinese culture for a while now but after watching this video I'd truly love to go to Vietnam one day. Beautiful video and AWESOME cinematography. ♥♥
I love my home country Vietnam
Same._.
+AnimeBloom You are everywhere. O.o
***** CHERYYYYYY I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUU
Watching this just made me instantly smile :) You are so beautiful and inspiring Michelle!
Her voice is so calming, the pictures and places are so beautiful and her story is amazing.
Respect!!!!
Im half vietnamese and this video makes me want to go see Vietnam!
+Kellie Lin must do
I feel like a lot of us really want to explore our own culture but can't afford it.
+Hannah Siegel yeah palestinians killer you must be proud of your evil roots.
+Hannah Siegel oh god stop
Hm do your family know where in Europe your ancestors came from? It could be fun to look into that culture ;)
All asians still keep their history and cultures since a long time ago :) idk about western part
+Random UA-cam Watcher I understand that my privilege gives me advantages. I'm just saying that I find it interesting and beautiful that people have a culture with history when I'm just a basic mayo white boy with no history.
I'm glad that you find this interesting and just because you're a fully American doesn't mean you can't explore any culture else by yourself
+Jack Sell hahah
even after 4 years i come back to watch her old videos because of how soothing and informative they are. :)
Vietnam is so beautiful, man I wanna go there!!
Nathalie Vikström well come to Viet Nam
Her voice is so soothing...😌
This was magical, Michelle!
5 years later this video makes me so emotional
I don't get the negative comments on this video, it's so unnecessary. It was a beautiful video with no ill intention at all (no endorsements, no ads, nothing) and has a genuine message so just enjoy the video and stop being such a Debbie Downer. I just found out about Michelle Phan through this video without having any prior thoughts about her and I teared up at how gorgeous this was.
It doesn't even have a meaning to it or any judgements. Nothing in this universe has meaning (philosophy wise) so relax and enough with the negative comments. Jeez
I don't want to be rude but why does spirituality and the "UNIVERSE" seem to speak so freely to people once they're ridiculously rich?
LOL
Lmao
+Super Princess Tea Party cause everybody is chasing after money and acceptance and reputation. Some rich guy said: I hope everybody will once get rich as I am. Then they will recognize that all that doesnt matter in life. :) thats why rich people suddenly talk about the university thinggg
AreYouDaft09
Yes. That's the joke.
The best inspiring video here on UA-cam! Congrats Michelle!
OK guys, I'm packing my bags and going to a potato farm
+Viet Lee your everywhere
LMAO lets go, my potato self would fit in
***** sure
Carly Alexander awesome
+Carly Alexander I legit died reading this I'm a ghost now. 😂😂😂
So incredibly inspiring! x Also I missed Dom hehe anyone else?
+KP bc he hasnt been in a video for so long!
yes me
At 2:25 he's next to her :) x
I don't know why but this video made me cry. Thank you for this Michelle. This is truly inspiring.
This was so beautifully filmed, edited, and scripted. Stunning.
i'm vietnamese ^^ I love you and i love your channel ^^ welcome
i start to cry every-time i watch a michelle phan video. she represents so much of what youtube was and when she left i feel like she took old you tube with her.
YEAH BOIIIIIIIIIIII. I'm also Vietnamese, and it's nice to see someone I admire visit Vietnam. I've only been there twice in my life lel.
your video is 100 times better than Vietnam Airline's promotion video. breathtaking
this is one of the most inspiring videos i have ever seen i cant wait till i go back to my motherland
I come back to this video from time to time. It inspires me. It gives me the gentle but needed nudge to bump me back onto my path when I stray from it. Thank you Michelle. I miss your videos loads!
why we dont see anymore all that often photos or videos with you and Dom?
+Dafni Chalikia As your grow up, you realize there are certain aspects of your life that you want to keep private, especially as a public figure. Dom and I are still together and happy as ever, but we keep it offline now :)
thanks so much for answering! i hope you are both happy!!!
OMG! She responded
+Michelle Phan if you guys are still together, im so happy. you guys are meant for each other and i wish i'll see you in singapore soon just randomly. I've watched your first video and until now, YOUR AWESOME♡
+Michelle Phan this why i have always watched you since your lady gaga pocker face video .your humble enoughto say the truth
+Michelle Phan If I could like this response a thousand times I would
+Michelle Phan The intent isn't to live a zero impact life because you are correct by saying that is impossible in the current status of our culture.
With the path you seem to be following (at least the one you are portraying), I agree with OP and believe you will make the connection in your own time.
umm.. the food chain. Animals eat animals to survive. And even if you eat only plants, it's the same thing cause of the food chain. lol
Millions of plants and animals are killed and eaten yearly by humans. Be aware. Eat what you want.
+Jenny Ye 欢迎再来中国玩lol!
Wow your story is so interesting, I have watch a lot of dramas abt previous life and I believe in it.
