    color smear and edge expand does the same thing. No need to use paint. But this is the basic principle of the nodes. 👍

      hi abdulla, thanks for comment ,well you can use that as i told in the video also but you cant get the perfect result with color smear and edge expand for all kind of footage cause it does have some restrictions ,this technique is mainly those shots which is having long motion blur. the footage that i used is just to explain.in this footage color smear , edge expand, jkUVEdgeExtend will work fine too. hope i am able to make you understand.

      Color smear is only for Hard edge not work in motion blur,edge extend,edge push,premult un premult, level set are working

    can't there just be an algorithm that takes the color from nearest alpha 1 pixels where alpha < 1?

      Well there are some techniques that you can get the color of the nearest pixel for example edge extand gizmo does that.but that doesn't solve that issue of motion blur because of direction of motion. You can make alpha
