I think there is a very tiny section of people in India who actually appreciate and value handcrafted products on pure fabric. Since, they are almost always a little on the expensive side, so the majority go for synthetic and affordable options. For example, if I was invited to a wedding I will opt for a piece which I know will stand out, such as a traditional pure silk saree, or a handpainted madhubani kurta on pure tussar silk. Or a plain raw silk kurta with maybe an ajrakh dupatta. I understand that brands like Libas, Varanga, Vishudh etc. offer products on a budget but tbh they do not look 'a million bucks', plus their products can be seen everywhere! There is no uniqueness. Because I have been following Manmeet for some time now, and I appreciate her choice of western wear, I would like to suggest her to go for brands like Fabindia, Taavi, ADA, Akiso, Okhai (from myntra itself) or Farida Gupta, Jaypore etc. which offer a much classier taste when it comes to ethnic wear. Try pieces which are unique, handcrafted, made of pure silk, pure linen, pure tussar etc. Trust me you'll not be disappointed. These pieces definitely make heads turn.
