      The crowd numbers so far are just the right balance of being able to get around the city centre without too many hold ups and delays but still creating that fantastic buzz , vibe and atmosphere ! , apparently footfall is around 20% lower than 2019 , so brace yourself for next year , we will all need extra patience and more time to get around ! . Your presentation skills are now so good , you really should be on tv with that talent 👍.

      Ton of people yesterday, came from California and had no idea what or where this festival was and kinda of ran into it by total accident lol very use to seeing street performers in Santa Monica and Venice, pretty neat you guys have something here! Looking for good Mexican food any recommendations?

      @@atravelingboy7995 Welcome to the largest festival on the planet which has been around for 75 years ! , hundreds of cities around the world , including the US , now have their own version. In 2019 the Fringe sold over 3 million tickets lol ! ( that doesn't include the thousands of free shows asking for donations ) , apparently only the Olympics sells more and that's every 4 years !. For Mexican food at a reasonable price try Bonnie Burrito at 82 South Clerk Street about a mile south from the Tron ( small church ) situated at the end of the closed section of the High Street were most of the buskers are performing ! , have a great vacation 🤪.

    Hey Kakibot. Great video again. I'm already back home after a week of fringe (as I do every year). My recommendations for comedy are Daniel Sloss and Alasdair Beckett-King. They are both hilarious in totally different ways. Hamlet with Sir Ian McKellen was also really impressive. But for me Fringe is also about taking a flyer on the street from a random person and see their shows. You will definitely some gems there as well. Cheers from Switzerland!

    There's a pita hut in Georgia Sq which has vegetarian and vegan choices I think. I had a chickpea pita which was very tasty.

    Great to see that Covid didn't kill the fringe and it seems to have sprung back in full health. I always used to take a week off in August and just be a (local) tourist in Edinburgh, though it seems to be a lot more involved than back, 20 years ago!

    Traveled from New York to see the Fringe this year. Been keeping my eyes open to see if I can spot a Kakibot in the wild, but alas...no luck.
    So far we saw a production based on the Cabinet of Doctor Caligari...that wasnt the greatest...but last night we saw The Tiger Lilies One Penny Opera that was really cool...and a fantastic improv show at 1am last night down at the Banshees Labyrinth.
    It's pretty cold and rainy today so we're not sure what to do? Any suggestions?

    Scotland overlaps with Edinburgh? Not that I've noticed. It never feels like Scotland, especially during the festival. Glasgow, now, that's Scotland!

    I live next door to the pleasance (venue 33) which is the biggest comedy venue at the fringe and it's much much muich quieter than normal. this year was planned to be smaller and next year back to bloody insanity levels where you cannot walk up the high street for people.
    This is deffo a quiet one

    Is there an information source that the festival has for people traveling from overseas to the festival? I wouldn't know what to expect for hotels, access to shows etc.

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  2 роки тому

      The printed guide (and the website too I imagine) contains info on accessibility, family/baby friendliness, public toilets - which I found super practical to have on hand. I don't think they officially cater to the travel side of things though. Are you still planning to come this year, or are you thinking about the years coming up?

      @@Kakibot My preference is to catch the next festival. Given the line ups in airports and slow services in many hotels, I am reluctant to come this year. Thank you for your response. I will search for the festival's website as my starting point.

    We are coming to Edinburgh for the first time with my fiance in week 34 and I am a bit scared of the amount of people, because of the Fringe. Does the festival show in Edinburghs main attractions or is it more packed in the main festival areas?

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  2 роки тому +1

      Hiya! Festival crowds do absolutely spill over to other areas, as most visitors stay beyond Old Town and Meadows. The good news is that the last week of Fringe tends to be noticeable quieter, especially towards the last couple of days of Fringe, so you should get a bit of cooldown around then.
      If the weather allows you could always explore some areas beyond what a first time traveller usually visits: Craigmillar or Lauriston castles, Cramond beach, South Queensferry. All very easy to reach by public transport or trains (depending on where you'll be based of course).
      Hope you have an amazing time!
