Begode Master Failure

  • What can you say? Actually it reminds me of the light-bulb bathtub curve. It's a curve showing failures occurring early after manufacture (manufacturing defects), failure rates decaying to a steady trickle then rising again as the product gets to the end of its useful life. Manufacturers seeks that both sides of the curve should be a steep as possible and as low as possible in the middle.

    I have a Master. I'm not saying this will work, but it's worth a shot. Try putting it back into transport mode. Hold the tilt button while pressing the power button 5x. It should beep twice and power off. If not that, go the other way around. I've never had this problem but this might work for you.

      We think it is the display board that has failed. It is not possible to put it into transport mode because the wheel does not switch on. Even a wheel in transport mode will switch on, it is just that it will not balance when you have done so. I do appreciate the feedback though.

    I think you have to hold down the power button for a few or maybe 5 seconds before it can turn itself off ? Make sure the wheel has come to a full stop, wait 2 seconds, then press and hold down the power button should have the unit turned off by itself.

      OK, it seems you did that from the beginning, so I am not sure what caused it. My unit did have the display not showing issue when the unit is fully charged, but I just keep turning it on and off until the display comes back to life. Other than that fault, my wheel works. Hope you fixed your issue, or reach out to your dealer for help. Best regards.

      @@FastRadioBursts They think a faulty display board (so do I in fact). A new one should be winging its way (literally), Air Freight from China.

    Sorry to hear about this. Mine, also from speedyfeet, same batch as yours) is also down, with suspected water in motor bearing at less than 100 km. Terrible QA from Begode, but hopefully our trusted dealer can help us.

    Fid you update the firmware?

    Get yours fixed yet? My controller should have arrived 2 weeks ago. Emailed Alien Rides for an update and they didn't know what I was talking about, asked me to send video of the problem again. I did this mid october and was told my board would arrive in 2-3 weeks and I was "on the list". So they ask for a video again, I send it. Then It takes a week for them to look at it and get back to me. So in another week I should find out that "we will order a board for you" and then wait another 2-3 weeks for it to ship from begode, and be right back where I am now.... Bought 3 wheels there but this will be my last.

      My Master is being picked up from my home tomorrow. I understand your frustration but don't take it out on your dealer. They are at the mercy of the Manufacturer. Begode should really be free issuing spares to the dealers to cover these problems because of the large delays and expense related to air freight. If their wheels were reliable would be one thing, but they are not, and they need to ensure their dealers have spares immediately on hand to deal with these warranty issues. Dealers are already limiting themselves to certain models because of the expense of carrying spares. If we are too demanding they may not carry some Brands at all. Certainly when you buy a Begode one should not be surprised if you have quality related problems, that should not be the case but I think we all know that when we order. Best bet for a trouble free experience would appear to be Veteran and the Veteran Sherman -S is looking very promising, but even so we are a long way from seeing an EUC as a product in the way you would expect quality in a car, or in a motorcycle.

    oh that's very janky. I think it's the wallpaper flopping from the wall behind, yes yes it must be that. It's scared and must run away 🤣

      I think it's the display board that has failed in mine. They are sending another (board that is) air freight from China, which is fine.

      @@Roskellan Hopefully it's a simple fix like that. This is an excellent wheel though so it's worth the hassle. It will make a great rider unstoppable and even an average rider very fast.

    No offense and not to come across as a know it all. However, throughout this video I was cringing. The master is a professional wheel, and should be worked on by professionals. Why are you working on it if you don't understand what you're actually doing. You disconnected the batteries and didn't de-energise the capacitors, and wonder why it doesn't turn on? You also precariously held a metal screwdriver over live 134v charge ports. They're simple micro switches to understand. My advice is Leave this to the professionals next time. The original solution was simply check the micro switches as the rubber top parts are known not to touch the switch preventing its operation... You have now inadvertently created something that couldve been resolved quite easily.

      @Roskellan  Рік тому

      I do understand what I'm doing. I'm an electronics engineer of some 40 years experience. I did attempt to de-energise the capacitors, but the nature of the fault was not to allow you to turn the wheel off or on. I attempted to switch on the wheel with the rubber cover removed. And Begode themselves along with the supplier agree it is the display board that has failed. I do agree on one point, that if you are not competent then dismantling the wheel would present some danger and risk of damage.

      "The master is a professional wheel, and should be worked on by professionals. " 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Is it April 1st already? Who are the professionals? Definitely no one at begode. I know about more masters that have died in weeks than ones that are running strong. And you're also wrong because the dealer that you have a WARRANTY with will tell you take it apart. They dont ask if your capable. They said "If you want a new part then open your wheel and take pictures of the board." The parts are held hostage with the condition that you GET OUT THAT SCREWDRIVER. They dont even offer to actually fix it themselves, which makes sense since they are in a different state and shipping logistics, cost, etc.
