62nd Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships Men's Singles Finals match played at court #3 Marks Stadium 11AM. - Спорт
As a beginner, it's amazing to see how well these guys can control the ball while hitting it at a full force. Tennis is perhaps the most frustrating sport I have ever played in my life.
If your balls go out long a lot, focus on getting more top spin on the ball in practice. Once you get better at this, you'll find alot more balls tend to go in as you start to hit harder.
Try golf. You will get to another level of frustration. 🙂
Tennis is super easy I’ve also been playing my entire lifw
@@Coolproducts44lol
agree. a lot of ppl think "oh tennis isnt hard, all i got to do is tap the ball over the net"
thats like saying american football is easy because I can catch the ball. Soccer is easy because I can dribble and shoot a goal. Volleyball is easy because I can bounce the ball up and down on my arm and underhand a serve over the net.
Court level view of players at this caliber is so entertaining. They crush the ball almost every single shot
It's crazy when you realize how high they hit over the net. I feel like a lot of rec players try to hit those ultra fast and low forehands when really they need to be hitting the high arcing topspin shots. I'm guilty of that myself.
They crush the ball is pretty relative term! This kinda crushing isn't even 40 percent of ATP level... Just saying
@@alientube1984 most of these guys ended up in the top 250 of the world so i would disagree with that.
46:05 that’s so in , come on just be honest .
Lol
@Andy Swervy you meant a feet?
That was definitely in. How many challenges are they allowed per match?
I see. Thanks.@@mattlee7463
The guy in red was a cheater
Thanks for posting this footage. Both of these guys are so fast. Cukierman has serious wheels. Kumar must be one of the better returners in college. He gets up on one foot for the two-handed return and just nails it. Very impressive stuff.
what's up with the cheating
it's like a topspin contest
and moonball fest
@Fernando Cunha College tennis in a nutshell

Fantastic players but also fantastic camerawork. Thank you for the wonderful quality and handiwork making sure to get all angles!
Although the guy in the black didn't win, everyone can appreciate how he kept himself composed and played his game even after the blatant cheating.
What was the blatant cheating? 11 mins in, just curious
@@HankHell41 46:05
the official overruled his call after video review. Fairly certain when the ball is that close you'd make a similar call in a huge match like this. The dude in black challenged and the call was overturned. No need to insinuate Daniel is a cheater.
@@SpaceTvRadio1 Anyone with actual moral values wouldn’t hook anyone like this.
@@SpaceTvRadio1 Come on dude. That ball was 3 inches INSIDE the baseline.
How do D1 finals matches not have line judges?
Umpire and video review!
I don't know these guys like you guys know them but based on doubles highlights I've seen of Kumar, I'm totally shocked that he's playing like this. In doubles, that guy is a BEAST! Maybe just an off day?
Because doubles and singles are 2 different games, Kumar is a great volleyer when he starts at the net but in singles you can't just magically appear at the net.
Singles is at least twice as taxing as doubles. Physically and mentally.
horrible sportmanship both of the red player and from the crowd, more than one and two balls were in... ridiculous behaviour
College tennis tends to be like that haha
Cuz they're playing at USC
The guy in the red T-shirt seems to have some problem with his eye sight!!
His eye sight is 20/20.
But his sportmanship and manners are 0/20.
yeah
48:26 oh come on. that was so in
Knife Grader I know right!
Knife Grader camera lens and angle.
they have a chair umpire and the option for video reviews of any line disputes...
Watch in .25 speed
@@StunnaDroppedYou Was in by far. Pause the video when it bounces
Thanks so much for the editing honestly
Nice match. You can really see how each player was trying to construct the point on their service. Very aggressive!
i feel like the USC guy was a little excessive in his point celebrations lol (especially when it was just the other dude hitting it out)
Damn people in this comment section really thinking they’re 14 utrs our here😂💀
ikr
When you realize this has more skill in display than the women's Wimbledon final
Only if your mother and grandmother were playing in the Wimbledon finals!
Not comparable, men have more power
I won watching this match finals Even if it's years later as I took time from my studying languages! Thanks guys schools etc!
Great match! really high level play
Hey Matt, Looked through a few vids and didn't see specs for camera. What are you shooting? And also, what do you edit with and then how are you uploading? Just did a 4k60p test and everything took forever. Thanks for any tips.
I'm currently using a Sony AX-100 4K camcorder. I edit on the fly by hitting the record button on/off during the match and I render the 200-300 or so clips using Final Cut Pro X which takes about 2hours to put a 4K format that UA-cam recognizes. The longest part is uploading to UA-cam since Charter/Spectrum is uploading at 10 mbps. I've noticed quite a big difference from 6 months ago when it took longer.
Matt Lin Thanks. All looks good. Never can go wrong with Sony quality. But yeah similar experience for me too. Just did a video in 60p and the times were ridiculous. Cox upload is about the same speed. Cheers.
22:03 First time in this history of college tennis that an out ball was called in.
horrible call. And 46:05 was called out
@@liamsilver4843 It was ruled to be in after video review, I don't see the problem.
This is really late but what strings does Cukierman use?
good match boys kudos to the cinematographer also
I like blackshirt’s style of play. I bit more conservative. Works the ball around the court a bit more giving his opponent a chance to make mistakes on big points. More all court play. Red shirt has those huge ground strokes but with big shots comes inconsistent play and during big points when you tighten up it’s difficult to throw your whole body into your forehand which is necessary with his technique.
Bless this camera angle
Hey, how did you edit he raw video, did you do it manually or use any software?
what version of the pure strike?
Kumar, just like me has problem with continuous serve motion. Kinetic chain breaks when he stops at around trophy position.
His returns are excellent, top class. Good from baseline, not very offensive. He loves to volley but he doesn't seem to be a natural volleyer. Perhaps he can attack the net after returning second serves? He takes them so early he can as well take two big steps into court..
The other guys didn't have to cheat with line calls, he has good game too.
I agree I sensed something funky with both his arm stopping in trophy pose (that's not really a big flaw) and more importantly the timing of his leg drive. He seems to be pushing on his legs a fraction of a second too early. Otherwise amazing technique and stupidly good at the net...
Please please please can someone comment strengths/weaknesses for the player in the reds for skills, tactics and fitness. I need this for my a level pls x
These guys are amazing so satisfying to watch
how are they different from the pros.. They look the same to me. Wish to see them playing with real pros.
pro-level topspin these guys are getting.
Kumar is really aggressive and truly has a great volley
Actually overall he is not such a great player extremely good forehand decent backhand serve sucks and his volley isn't that great but his defensive play is honestly better than his aggressive and mainly very inconsistent
Narayana L he’ll still kick your ass tho
Another biased f comment!!!
Akif M I’m sorry how?
@@deedlespeedle2444 😂😂😂😂😂😂I'm the no 3 player in under 18 Tamil nadu kid you don't know who you are talking to......comparing me to some kid in college definitely he's wicked smart cause he is in Stanford I'll give him credit for that but in tennis he's just a rookie. This makes one thing clear that you haven't seen real tennis, so if you don't know shit about tennis plz shut the fuck up and go play meaningless tennis in your stupid fucking academy kid
lol that coaching at 2:23
they use playsight for the challenge. Glad they do since there are some people who always are not honest.
Even if ur losing, be a good sport and learn from ur mistakes.
11:24 out?
God i hate when the red guy purposfully takes too long to get back to returning on the guys 2nd serve and when he misses you can see his frustration

Such high level. Why there's no more top 10 American?

good match...Kumar has played better...
can somebody explain why they are not playing with deuce?
The usc player, great serve, great forehand, however mental game, horrible. The stanford player, great player overall just need to play more aggresive in some situations. Overall great job to the stanford player.
“vamos a la playa” 😂😂
51:41 is that a slice?? Joking lol. That’s just seems like the first slice in the entire match.
a weak slice
Pc Ng agreed. Variety is something that I don’t see that much in these types of matches. Maybe it was just this match.
You're wrong. There is a slice at 8:55
👍👍🎾
DOES EVERYONE @ USC CHEAT THIS BAD?????
nah
Great match overall. Kumar choked in the last stretch
Sirens, cars, planes... i'd lose my mind
What’s up with coach constantly swapping sides and talking during games. Leave them to it.
フットワークが凄いな
I thought there would be people calling the lines at this level, guess not
It's ridiculous. No college matches have line judges. I've seen some level college matches at the complex where my high school practiced that didn't even have an umpire or employee of any kind on the court.
the black shirt guy's racquet was too light, no penetration, only loopy shots
good tennis
Would their rating be NTRP 5.0?
6.0
they are 5.5 not a 6.0
5.5-6.0 - look up the definitions
NCAA Dvision 1 used to be ATP standard but currently they rather be a dr so you’re right around NTRP 5-6 or open lever outside of 800 in the world.

What's up with the quality?
Karl Collins It just uploaded so it will have 1080p later on.
4:30 ball was out
Cuckierman called it right at 46:05, but absolutely cheated at 48:25, ball smack on the line. Great shot by the Stanford guy. Weaselly call by the USC guy.
They were both bad calls. The ball was in each time. You can see that from the shadow of the ball and the angle of the sun.
not enough top spin...
Lmao, the topspin good though in my opinion because it combines power and top spin.
I wonder if you use atp tour as your comparison..? Because this is college Tennis, and they did good..
Its called sarcasm 😂
For everyone trippin on 46:05, the ump ruled it in after review. Pretty hard to do otherwise, especially at that level.
I don't even blame him for the 46.05 call, those are hard balls to call and it just kind of signals a light in your brain when you think you saw it go out and you yell immediately to avoid a late call.
Pegan como niñas y el de negro vaya nenaza

College Tennis is the sadest thing compared to College Football. Top college football players are treated like pro athletes
No, pro athletes get paid. The facilities in college football look so nice because they are profiteering off of these young adults and making hundreds of millions of dollars a year off unpaid talent that's paying THEM to play
No let?

This most definitely is not the English language
Well at least I graduated from a D1 university in southern cal I bet you only have a junior college degree most .
Both of you can’t even get a game from me I bet you.
What was so great about these two college players who can’t even get their first serve in 🤔😀🤔

Moon balls on steroids
#Cheater
They both cheated. It’s a part of the game.
that's some bullshit
It’s not a good level of tennis
The cheat won.
yep
USC guy is so annoying
These players are obviously great. There’s no question. You don’t get to this level by being trash. But you can tell that there is a ceiling to both of their games. Technique aided by the frying pan Babolats they both play with. Backhand technique on both ends are pretty poor - baseball swings at best. Andy Roddick and Jack Sock ushered in a generation of trash technique that could only be plausible with the frying pan racquets that Babolat makes. So many young American players fell in love with their games, personas, and equipment. Hence why we haven’t produced a champion in ages.
'Technique aided by frying pan babolats.'
I'm curious to know what you mean by that. Is there something about the rackets that is peculiar?
Muneeb Ahmad have you ever played with a Babolat?
@@kylepiscitello8889 yes, but not my own, it was my partner's. It was well balanced, relatively light for its power, but not extraordinary in my estimation. But yours is not the first comment speaking about babolat.
Nadal uses a babolat. He's arguably the greatest tennis player of all time. What is this guy talking about?
Wes Nadal is Nadal. He’s an anomaly. But if we’re going to use your illogical logic, Novak has really owned him in the last 10 years, he plays with Head. Roger has more majors (for now), titles, and weeks at number 1, yet he plays with Wilson. Name another “great” player who uses Babolat - Clijsters, Na, Roddick, Mugu, and Wozniacki are hardly “great players.”
Better questions are, what are you talking about? What level do you play at? Which racquet do you play with? Etc.
American tennis died after Roddick with the rise of Nadal and Federer. Every kid growing up watching them wants big serves and babolat forehands with ridiculous full western grips and no drive. All the top US talent keeps doing that and hooking line calls like this kid while the rest of the world churns out players breaking into the top 100 or top 50 before these guys even graduate college.
We got Serena
Yeah you don’t really pay attention to tennis do you? No country is “churning out players” like that. Nor are they in the top 100 or 50 by the time these guys graduate. Very few do. Just like it’s always been.
American pro tennis is dying because american amateur tennis is dying. I don't think top talents pick tennis anymore, especially not men. I agree that grips are becoming too extreme, semiwestern or very strong eastern have proved their worth, but topspin is the most important thing in modern tennis. If they could win with a flat game, they would don't worry.
Boring players - no variety
