Ross Taylor will probably go as the most underrated batsman of the decade. An AVG of 48 in ODI and 45+ in tests and performs in all parts of the globe.
Trott is the really classy player I really can pay to watch him he really is fantastic to watch with great cricketing mind set big big Fan of Trott from Pakistan
I know right. Just wonderful. He is a proper player. The game of cricket quickened with ODI and T-20( and now The Hundred)...otherwise a cricketer of Trott's quality would have been more appreciated. In interviews I have heard him speak of the "art of batting". And in other places that his favourite batsman growing up was Michael Slater and how he tried to emulate him.
I was on a plane from Australia to my birth place in London for a holiday during this. I had no idea what was happening, and the first thing I did upon arriving was buy a newspaper to find out about Broad's heroics.
Beginning of the end of Matt Prior's England career. Had a terrible summer of 2013 and a horrible Ashes tour in 2013/14. Eventually quit international cricket in 2014. Leading up to this game, he had a terrific 4-5 years.
Probably because you have Trott and Bell at 3 and 4 respectively? Both averaged over 40 in their test careers so why change things up for some inexperienced players finding their feet? Also Trott/Bell were at the peak of their powers around that time. Bell hit 3 centuries and won man of the series in that year's ashes Both Root and Bairstow debuted in 2012 and had barely had a year in the England test team Edit: Although i admit the 2013/14 ashes was the beginning of the end of Bell/Trott's test careers
This series came a year too soon for NZ. KW not quite there yet, Latham yet to debut and Wagner hadn’t yet learned that pitching it up is for suckers. You can still see signs of the team they’d become though
And some weak/inconsistent batsman such as Rutherford, Fulton, and Brownlie. Brownlie was a strange case - he was great in his 2 matches against Australia, but didn't do much else.
@Amaan Ahmed They *drew* the (high scoring)test series, England won the first by 124, NZ won the 2nd by 199... England won the (very high scoring)ODI series 3-2. Not exactly bad results overall, particularly considering England were playing at home. From & including 2015 to now that was the only drawn series, NZ won 3 series, England 1 series.
Incredible to see the same trio of Southee, Boult, and Wagner still bowling for NZ.
And now Kyle Jamieson

Whenever there is a top ordercollapse for newzealand - Williamson and Taylor comes to the rescue. This pair is so underrated.

True
Excellent player for NZ over the years.
You are really very true.
All Time Favourite J Anderson .And
Steyn gun ..
anderson, broad and southee great bowling performances but what a delivery by a part time bowler young kane.
Anderson gets Williamson, Williamson gets Anderson. Not a single ball from Swann
That was the silliest ending to a test match I've ever seen lol
Everyone taking about new zealand
But what a brilliant performance by broad
Just notice the contribution of Taylor as a batsmen in 1st innings n as a fielder in whole match. Most underrated player of his time
100%
I think pretty much anyone that's aware of him knows how good he was, he certainly wasn't underrated here in NZ.
Trott was one class player. It''s a shame he couldn't have a long career.
True. He left a terrific record...and many memories
I feel bad for Jonathan Trott. He couldn't play long 🙁.
Title: Broad & Southee dominate low-scoring thriller!
Anderson with a fifer: I guess first innings never happened, huh?
Broad and Southee had 10-fer in this match so they have titled like this
he's so frequent with fifers that its normal to them now lol
Swing bowling at it's best 🔥
What a delivery by part time spinner Williamson to dismiss Trott & Anderson❤❤❤❤❤😘😘😘😘😘😘😯😯😯😯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
10:52 Eyes wide shut!
Trott was such a classy player
Mitchell Johnson destroyed his career.

I am missing international cricket due to Covid, but i am enjoying here.
ECB SHOULD GET OSCAR FOR BEST HIGHLIGHTS
Martin bowling action as same as Vettori

At present most deadly and experienced trio

Williamson and Ross Taylor have always great partnership ❣ under pressure
steven finn😍
Did anyone notice the bowling of Bruce Martin... Felt exactly like Dan vettori ❤️❤️❤️

GREAT Work Sir
No problem with the pitch for Michael Clown Vaughan as the visiting team gets bowled out for 68
2013 feels like yesterday. Lol
trueee mannn 🥺
Thanks for upload
One thing to understood is that in england run chase is very difficult because Andersen or broad will take you down..so better not to chase in england
Anyone noticed Billy Root during the last wicket of the match?
It's not a thriller quite a convincing victory for England.
this tour full uplod odi and test
broad you beauty
What happened to trott. He was second best English Batsman for very long time and suddenly eloped
Depression, basically. He did return briefly as a makeshift opener, but was never really the same after that tour of Australia we'd rather forget.

Back in those days when Williamson used to bat like pujara
0:28 didn't know NZ played a copy of Vettori sometime in the past
Why is KP not playing in this test?
Thought Martin was going to be the new Vettori but wasn't to be
Anderson and broad still doing same for the england

What is thrilar
Williamson trying to copy the action of muttiah murlitharan
I dont remember Wagner and Watling being that old man
