Southern family with Northern hearts. Wyman Manderly embodies this using wisdom and wits of a Reach house but is steadfast in loyalty and brutal as any Northern nobility would be.
Wyman Manderly is probably one of the most underestimated politicians in Westeros. He's up there with Mace Tyrell. He also has the honor of having one of the more clever one liners in the series.
Think the moment they changes the stannis storyline we lost Davos going there. I hope we do is it in HOTD but at the same time it would not surprise me if they just use Winterfell for all the North scenes
I know there is an OVERLOAD OF CHARACTERS BUT they should have stuck to the books 💯% also I'd love a animated series that follows the books to the letter!?!
Its defiantly is the best version i have seen i'm not a fan of the other versions out there. This one is exactly how i pictured it. Where did you originally post it so i can add it to the credits? Its been reposted so many times without attribution it's hard to track down the source.
defiantly one of the best i've found. They often go way to masculine for her, or way to traditionally beautiful like Rhaenys. This hits the nail on the head, the artist did a great job at capturing her as a person.
Great video. I think Lord Wyman's "loyalty" needs to be understood in the context of the culture of the northern bannermen. Such scheming is initially something we are led to believe is alien to the culture of the north, but the more time passes, we gradually see that this is merely wishful thinking Ned Stark has communicated to his children, and that the northmen are no less prone to scheming and plotting than nobles south of the neck. Roose Bolton and Wyman Manderly both want Hornwood, and more power. Barbrey Dustin explains how the Umbers have their own plots. The Ryswells were plotting to snare Brandon and Eddard in the time of Rickard Stark. I think both recognize that the northmen will always rally to a son of Eddard Stark, which is why both go to such efforts to ensure that a son of Ned Stark can't be a threat, as the interactions between Jon and the Boltons show, or that Rickon is brought back. In the latter case Rickon would be Manderly's pet Lord Stark, and would "gratefully" accept a marriage to Wylla Manderly, allowing House Manderly to assume a position not dissimilar to House Lannister or House Tyrell in relation to the Baratheons of King's Landing. It also parallels the history of House Manderly in the Reach.
I see it less of that and more of Manderly's honoring the house that saved them. Think about it, out on your ass. No where to go you flee north. For the Starks to come forward with what is essentially a family castle. The Wolf's Den either being a lesser seat of house Stark, such as a younger brother would get it, and was eventually given to the GreyStarks which i believe were from a brother of one of the Stark Kings. Its not that they dont play the game. It's that ultimately they are loyal to the Starks.
My favorit house in GOT. I was so sad we only saw glimpses of them in the show. I looked forward to hear lord to fat to sit a horse conspire against the boltons.

I hope you are joking. I love Mace, but he's no where near as politically capable than Wyman
I really wanted to see white harbour in the show, hope we're gonna see it in HOTD

@@brittanydimartino941 the problem is the average human has the attention span of a goldfish so following books to the letter would be out.
Hey the Manderly sigil you used was of my creation, thats so cool

@@WorldOfWesteros yes just updated it, is on Game of thrones fanon
That’s the best picture of Queen Visenya I’ve seen. Great art work.

Even late into season 7 i had hopes of maybe seeing more of them at winterfell, but like much of the late season of thrones, was disappointed
and serve them rat cook pie
I hope the Starks take back the North in the books.
Incredible loyalty to the starks. Even with the starks on the brink, manderlys kept fighting and plotting to save the starks.
I hope there be more of House Manderly in the new House of the Dragon series.
i think there might be a little bit
@@WorldOfWesteros I cannot remember but after the dance of dragons does one of the Manderly Lords become hand of the king?
Unlikely
When they lost their home and death hunted them. Twas the wolfs who's cloak covered them
The one house that woudlve answered jon snows call in the show…doesnt
Mac is coming
Mac was wrong, bad uber eats
Best
I feel like they are the hightowers of the north 😅
"Famous for his fatness."
Ouch.
"I am fat, and many think that makes me weak and foolish." - Lord Wyman Manderly.
