MOSQUITO BITES:
Mosquitoes are the world’s deadliest animal - they are responsible for millions of bites and deaths every single year - in this video I’m going to give you five tips to treat mosquito bites AND five tips on how to prevent them. You might catch some bonus tips along the way too so let’s get started!
HOW TO GET RID OF MOSQUITO BITES:
Of course sometimes it’s inevitable that you will get bitten! You might experience itchiness, raised red skin, inflammation or swelling of the bite and sometimes liquid weeping out of the bite. I go into detail on treatments at 02:36 in the video.
INSECT REPELLENTS:
As explained in the video here are a list of other insect repellents with the most effective at the top:
1- DEET 50%
2- Picaridin 20%
3- Lemon eucalyptus (PMD) 30%
4- IR3535 20% (NOT effective in malarial areas)
WHEN TO GET MEDICAL ADVICE:
Contact your GP, Pharmacist or call NHS 111 for advice if,
• You're worried about a bite or sting.
• Your symptoms don't start to improve within a few days or are getting worse.
• You've been stung or bitten in your mouth or throat, or near your eyes
a large area (around 10cm or more) around the bite becomes red and swollen.
• You have symptoms of a wound infection, such as pus or increasing pain, swelling or redness.
• You have symptoms of a more widespread infection, such as a fever, swollen glands and other flu-like symptoms.
There is one serious red flag I must tell you about. If you experience any flu-like symptoms, such as a fever or aches and pains, within 12 months of visiting a high-risk area for malaria or yellow fever you must talk to your GP or Pharmacist for further advice.
Mosquitoes can carry other diseases too like Dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, Zika virus and Chikungunya. You should always mention if you have been travelling abroad when describing your symptoms to your GP or Pharmacist so they can do their best to help you.

i recently read about tips for the mosquito bites and to my surprise all i had to do was bath in cold water and use ice cubes to press against the mosquito bites. I sleep in an airconditioned room as well and i dont feel any itch at all

@Noble Hill, Minister and Prophet - you’re a life saver!!! My son was having horrible allergic reactions to mosquito bites when we moved to a different home. We tried ice and several creams, but nothing worked. Then, I read your response to someone else’s response… baby oil. We happened to have Shea and cocoa butter baby oil at home. OMG!!! It took the itch away immediately and it reduced the HUGE bumps he had within a matter of an hour or two, depending on how bad they were. Trust me they were BIG!

I tend to have severe allergic reactions to mosquito bites. Traditional remedies like calamine lotion never worked for me, but manuka and tamanu oil do. It takes a few minutes for both to start working. It might work for you too if you can stand the organic smell. Tamanu oil is much cheaper of the two.

I have aloe vera gel from GNC (32 oz.) I keep it in my fridge. It is the perfect thing for so many things and can be take internally or applied externally.

Since it's getting hot outside, they are everywhere now... which means they bite me to an average of 20 times a month. 😪

Thanks, Abraham! Still recovering from multiple bites on my legs from my Costa Rican vacation last week. Would working out increase the itchiness feeling or would that help the recovery? Totally cool if you tell me to skip working out until bites are completely gone.
Hot spoon mosquito bite trick worked brilliantly for me!
Put a teaspoon in hot water for a few seconds. Remove the spoon and dry & it immediately put the back of the spoon on the bite and press as hard as you can. (this will kill the protein that the mosquito put in your skin which causes the itching). If the spoon is too hot just tap it on your skin until it’s comfortable enough to press down. Repeat as necessary.
The amount of times you need to do it depends on how much protein the mosquito put in you and / or how bad your histamine reaction is to the mosquito bites.
i’m highly reactive to the protein so I did it at least eight different times each time re- heated the spoon in the cup of water. Don’t forget to apply pressure with back of the spoon. It seems the more pressure you apply the more heat is killing the protein left behind by the mosquito.

Depending on the specie of mospquito ,and most likely in the tropics mosquitos can give the following diseases : Yellow fever or Malaria, encephalitis, Dengue fever,Nile fever , SIKA , Chinkinkuya

My favorite was the Benedryl sticks but I guess they stopped selling them. Since then I have found that using my hair dryer to heat the bites completely stops the itching for several hours. Keep the dryer moving back and forth over the area til you feel it start to ‘ouch!’ then move to next bite. Really works.

I found running it under hot water helps reduce the itching but I don't always have hot water near by so that's why I'm here.
I got 16 bites on my body two or very red and the rest are okay but those two kill me and I also have one on my neck and ear.

I am allergic to all bites. When a mosquito bites me, the place where they sting turns into a white circle. Then it begins to swell and after it swells, I have to take meds.
I mean, everyone gets a mosquito bite that is white and swells, but for me; most of the time; these bites (the white circle) is bigger than my pinky. If I have one on my finger, my hole finger is white and swollen 😓

This may seem a bit unrelated but i have hayfever and its quite severe but i also get blisters if i so much as skif a leaf or petal with my hand and once even had my whole left arm covered in blisters after my little sister blew a dandilion next to be and the seeds hit my arm. All the doctors i've spoken to seem to have no explination other than saying it could be severe heyfever and its gotten to the point where i cant go out for a walk with my family in our local woods without coming home with four or five blisters and even get them from the daisys on the field at my school when we do pe. Does anyone have any suggestions of what i can do or what could be wrong as i've been told there's no medication or treatment i can get for it or just something that might help.

Hello everyone. My son is 12 months but 6 months ago we were in the Caribbeans and he had several mosquitoes bites but I will talk about the ones on his head, on his leg and under his foot. At 6 months he did not know how to scratch his skin but 2 months ago during the night above all and before sleeping he started scratching this bites aggressively 😩😓. He has little bumps. I just remembered removing the bump under his foot because I noticed that he stopped putting his foot when he was standing up.

hey man i’ve been getting bit by the same type of bug for the past 10 years but i’m not sure what bug it is i feel like it’s a mosquito but i’m the only one in my family that gets mosquito bites almost every year before school starts
Check for bed bugs
I set up a 11x11 enclosed mosquito netting tent because there was way to many mosquitos in my yard horrible to set it up on 80 degrees and humidity I was eaten alive while setting it up I have 36 mosquito bites on my arms now

The first day I get bit I use a cold compress or just a wash cloth with ice cubes. I use it all day the first day when they start to itch but especially at night. The next day I use a wash clothes with hot water the hotter the better straight from the sink. To pull out the poison. Both help me with the itching and pain but never itch the bite use the cold the first day and the hot the next instead of itching. This works for me but not sure if it would work for you.

i make cream with peppermint ,eucaliptus and tea tree oil. mosquitos dont like the smell.
My mother back in the 50's and 60's she believed in a spray called bactain. I think it worked but it was so long since I used I cannot ready remember.
