It used to be that you check transmission fluid with the engine running. I'm watching this video because I can't find one for a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. On the Pacifica you have to remove the battery. How can you remove the battery and check the fluid, or can you check the fluid without the engine running?
@@RollsCanardly-fv9ks I believe you're right, although I did check it hot for some reason. My problem was that I couldn't find the place to check the fluid. At first I thought that you check the fluid at the same location (near the battery) where videos show people adding the tranny fluid. There's a place at the rear of the transmission which I could reach from the left side of the engine bay.
I have 2017 Chrysler Pacifica - 9 Speed Automatic . There no information about what type of transmission fluid you have to use and how to check the transmission fluid level . Please advise . Thank you
Retired Catapiller Heavy Equipment Mechanic I have this car and im researching on doing this job. Your the only one who says it needs this 30 dollar a quart. My question is what kind of fluid and why are you suggesting that. God bless
This was a great video! Thank you! Im looking to check the ATF on a 2020 Chrysler Voyager with a 3.6 Engine / 9-speed AT. Is this the same AT as in the 200? I'm looking on the site now to see if the dipstick is the same. I believe the plug to check on the minivans is on the top of transmission. But not sure yet.
I noticed on the jeep grand Cherokee that it had a 5 speed in 2011 and then a 6 speed in 2012.It just seems with every year its one more gear and one more problem.I guess i would try to find a low mileage 2011 with less gears and the actual shifter that clicks into gears not a dumb looking T handle that you pull back and fourth on the 2014.I can never get the right gear on the 2014 lol.
+pontiachotshot I feel your pain. I too have issues getting into gear correctly each time. I saw where they were working on getting away with that joystick style shifter and go back to one that gives the feel on a normal shifter.
pontiachotshot Yeah....transmissions don't operate the way they use to. Getting people to understand/educated on that fact is the hard part. I have to deal with it everyday. Back in the day you had 4 gears so you didn't notice as much with the trans.....now that there are 8 and 9 speeds.....there is always something going on. Its upshifting, downshifting, etc. They assume there is something wrong when most of the time......there isn't.
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200...And I'm sure i need a transmission oil change..i havent changed it in 3 year's..I heard i didnt need to Miss with the Transmission Fluid..But my Car sounds like it needs one..Hopefully they know what they're doing at Pep Boys , like you know..
Awsome video thanks for sharing. Just bought a used 200 v6 2015, 160,000km it was a bit wet around tranny cant seem to find where it is. This will definatly help me keep an eye on the level but what a pain lol. Question bottom of transmission there are 2 rubber black plugs and a black plastic cover are these inspection points of some sort? I do notice so light fluid around these. Lastly where can I buy a shop manual with all the tourq specs for repairs. Thank you for your help
So you effectively have to dismantle the fucker just to even check the fluid level. My moms 200 has a red puddle under it and I can’t even check the levels to see if it’ll make it to a service station to fix it.
Hello, please answer my question, if you can. How can I reset the adaptation of automatically transmission 948TE (Jeep Cherokee KL)? Sorry for my bad English
Morning, the only way to do that is with a high dollar scanner. There is no other way to do it without the right scanner. I dont know which will other then the dealer scanner being that this is all I use.
Per dipstick marking, how much fluid do you add to say ...go from 10-20? I am looking to change transmission cooler lines in a 2012 chrysler 200 and would like to check and I'm sure add fluid without having to then remove fluid 😉
Hello, please let me know about the oil change. whether to change only the contents of the box (from the drain plug) or each time flushing the entire oil circuit, the box and the cooler. others write that exchange every 60,000 km.
Hi, thank you very much for this video. I love this channel ..I have Chrysler 200C 2015 and I'm facing a delay in my 9 speed transmission specially when it change from 4 to 5 speed . any suggestion please ????
Evening, the first step is checking the fluid level. The next would be making sure the software level is correct. We arent allowed by Chrysler to make many repairs on these vehicles. Which leads me to the next step.....valve body replacement and then if still issues.....trans replacement. I hope this info helps and thanks for the question. Make sure to subscribe
It's normal behavior for shifting from 4 to 5 gears since that's done through a dog clutch which is basically a tooth gears clutch, you need the 2 gears to spin at the exactly same speed to have them engaging properly and this needs some time to equalize the speeds. There are no friction plates between these 2 gears to do a quick seamless shifting, everything is done through the software by reducing the engine speed (torque).
+Vikingz Beard It certainly isn't something they check during an oil change. Their thought process is that if you don't have a leak....then no reason to check unless shifting odd. It's above my pay scale. It seems to be the way things are heading across the brands. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
They leak from underneath the valve body, transmission pan around 40,000 miles. I always check there first. And they stutter after you replace the filter and fluid for about a hundred miles or so after for some reason; even Chrysler doesn't offer an explan.
Alot of different manufactures have started going to the "no-dipstick" set up and I too agree that its a dumb idea. It can be a bit of a pain to check some of these vehicle. Never had an issue with dipsticks so why change it. Thanks for watching Hank! Make sure to subscribe!
Good morning Mr. David, my car is Chrysler 200 model 2015 and engine size 2.4 lx, the problem is that the gearbox, the first time of agitation is lagging to the second crossover. The second tramp lags behind to the third tangle, but in less time. Please explain the possible possibilities for this failure. accept my greetings. Baha Aldeen
When it comes to this transmission.....checking to see if the software is up today is very important. There are alot of software updates for different concerns. I would visit your local dealer and see if the updates need to be performed. Then go from there. This trans will always have certain traits that you will not be able to change so the issue my get helped by an update or remain the same. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
Doing a basic check.....it shows to have the same trans so the procedure should be the same. Thanks for asking and for watching. Make sure to subscribe.
@@Hekelonedon Your welcome. Some times you will feel harder then normal shifts....its not abnormal. One thing that can be checked is the software version......they make changes from time to time to improve items like shift quailty so it doesnt hurt to have them check for that at your local dealer.
Hi there sir. Greetings. I been wanting to get the idle air control valve clean and am trying to figure out where it is located on my 2016 Chrysler 200 limited. Please help ,asap. Do u know where it is located or if it does has a IAC vavle? And thanks alot for the help on how to change and add fluid to the transmission.
To do the transmission service on my 2007 Pacifica, the process seems similar but with the dipstick style tool. One big difference: I don't have a transmission temp readout on my instrument cluster. I'm considering taking the dive and buying a scan tool, but was unsure if just any scanner would read this output? As a cheaper option I considered just using a laser thermometer on the tranny pan to get a temperature, but was unsure if this was accurate enough since the manual specifically called out reading from a scan tool. Thoughts?
+Bradley Buser Morning, I have a video I am working on for the near future where I show another method of checking the fluid. Its more of a "good average" which will work fine and not cause any issues. I also show you something you can use to make a dipstick to check the level. Make sure to subscribe so that you get notified when the video such as this one I described gets uploaded
I just purchased a 2015 chrysler 200, I'm starting to feel that hard shift in the first gear, but from what I have researched that happens to be a common but normal thing in the 9 speed transmission. is that true or should I get it checked? there's no lights in the dash to indicate if there's a possible transmission problem.
The 9 speed can have different shifts at times....some harder then normal. I have found that to pretty much be normal as you have heard already. Only thing I recommend is to see if there are any software updates. They are constantly making changes to the programming for different issues and you never know....there may be an update avail that may address some of the issues your having. Otherwise you can expect odd shifts or hard shifts sometimes. Its 9 speeds.......its always doing something, updshifting....downshifting....etc. You cant compare this trans to other transmissions for years again. I appreciate the question/comment. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already
Mathew Bolles anything major happened yet with it? I have a 2015 and Im scared as hell cause everyone is saying its something bad and the transmission will die soon.
I have a 2018 Promaster city with the 2.4L 9 speed. My fault and stupidity, but battery acid leaked on to my transmission and my van would not start. I used a garden hose to wash off the acid and towed it to my dealership who said the acid had burnt through some connector pins causing electrical problems, but that also my transmission had water in it and showed me a picture from the drain plug (no dip stick). The van has never been near deep water and was otherwise was driving fine before the electrical issue so I am assuming I caused this with the garden hose. This was 7 days ago and the van has not been started since the hose incident. What are the chances water might have entered via a hose from the top and be visible from the drain plug so quickly? Any chance I can flush this water and not require a rebuild? Incidentally, I frequently would long idle my van while parked. It's never overheated, but what are the chances maybe that water entered from the radiator instead and the dealership missed it? Can this be proven conclusively?
@MotorCity Mechanic i have a 2017 9 speed, is this the same transmission? I've been going back and forth with dealer for over a year, sporadically downshifts so hard stuff flies off the seats or around in the trunk. No codes, resets haven't worked, star group said there is nothing they can do. Often happens mildly, tech says they can't reproduce. It apparently sat around for a year before I bought it, so I suggested they change the transmission oil, but they are saying sorry, sealed. 16K miles.
Hello David, Do you have any videos or info on checking automatic transmission fluid level on a 2013 Dodge Dart and any procedure instructions for changing the transmission fluid and filter? Thanks
+Aaronize I don't have a specific video on the Dart but the procedure is pretty much the same as the 200 except how you access the plug to check the fluid. You remove the lower belly pan instead of going thru the wheel well. As far as the filter.....the filter does not get changed an a regular basis. To get to it you need to removed the transmission and separate the bell housing from the case. Basically not serviceable unless your overhauling the transmission. There is a bolt/drain on the bottom of the transmission that is removed to drain the fluid when performing a drain and refill. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe.
I am reading some of the comments about the 9 speed transmission. In the military I had to deal with a general Electric transmission in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. it was a POS from the get go with so many modifications that ad to be done before the major issue of jumping into gear. The same holds true for the ZF 9 speed tranny.
Hi, David. Nice video. Everyone with this kind of sealed transmission is wondering how to check the level. I own a 2015 Opel/ Vauxhall Corsa, 1.4 gasoline with the 6 speed automatic transmission from GM. I want to check tle ATF level, but I do not know what is the temperature that the ATF must have. Can you please help me with that information? Thanks.
I never get to work around vehicles such as that....just the Chrysler branded rides. That trans may use a different temp range and that I dont have access to. Sorry
Excellent video, I'm a huge fan of your channel. Question... Is there any way to determine the trans temp on a 2012 Avenger 3.6L without the scan tool? The display seems to have a little less info on the Avenger than the new 200.
+Smitty417 Evening, I haven't looked thru the cluster info on the 2012 Avengers. If you wanting to know the trans temp inorder to check the fluid level.....here is what I do. You have what they call a 62TE transmission in your vehicle (6-speed). It requires a special fluid level checked (dipstick). When checking the 62TE level I have the engine running in park and with the special tool.....I'm wanting to see around 40 on the level indicator. That's a good overall level that wont cause any issues. Otherwise you will need to check the trans temp with a scanner.
Smitty417 The procedure for adding fluid is the same as checking it....the fluid goes into the hole used to check the level. Getting it into that hole is the challenge. As far as the filter on a 9 speed......here is what the service info states: The 948TE/9HP48 automatic transmission is a sealed for life design and does not require periodic service. The only time the transmission fluid needs to be checked is when abnormal shifts frequently occur or evidence of a transmission fluid leak is present. So as you read.....there is no service. only checking fluid when you having an issue or if there is a leak. Thanks for the comment/question. This is for a 9 speed trans that came out in 2015....other wise before that they usually used a 62TE trans which is completely different.
Yes....the engine needs to be running when checking the fluid. Thanks for the question and for watching. Make sure to subscribe and share the videos with others.
@@MotorCityMechanic Thanks. I'm attempting a fluid check on a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica but the battery and a bracket have to be removed to access the check/fill plug. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the engine running with the battery and bracket removed.
Hi, it's very understanding to do u been trying to order the dipstick you used 10323a but all i find is 10323b is there any difference or can u help me with a link to order the dipstick?
The tool will be the same....the "a" and "b" difference just means that the tool has been updated the "b" version is the newest. So you will be fine ordering it or you can just use the plastic white wire-tie that I made. It works much better and cost nothing. Its what I use each time when checking the fluid. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
I am in the caribbean and i ordered the tool and the fluid buh to my amazement the fluid is prohibited to leave the use so i have to find a replacment fluid that can leave the us seeing that my car is in the carribean can you help me out some one told me "8HP fluid" should do the trick i rather help from the experts.
Why is everyone having shifting problems with this car? I did a UA-cam search and a ton of people are complaining about it not shifting correctly, or stuck as 2000 rpms.... any feedback?
The 9 speed is known for its shifts....sometimes hard....sometimes not. Its 9 speeds and its always doing something, like getting ready to upshift or downshift and its noticable. Any issues that would cause it to not shift or stay at 2000 would set a code. There are numerous software updates to help with the trans shifts or codes that might come up. But otherwise.....its known and normal to not have smooth shifts. Wish it wasnt that way but its the design and nothing that can be done. Its about the same for its bigger brother the 8 speed in the RWD vehicles. Its the dealership world that I have to work around.
I bought the special tool, at 120 f im reading 35-40 mm, so i thought my trans was over filled, I drained the trans and only 3.75 liters drained out. Really confused on what's going on, I thought I should have 6 liters but only half that drained out and My tool says it's over filled. Tool is 10-140 mm increments. So i then put in 1 gallon and a 1 qt in side which should be around 4.75 liters and then i dropped my dipstick inside the fill hole and im reading 60mm " i didnt start the car or anything so the fluid temp was room temp." This is a pretty straight forward process, idk if im doing something wrong or there is something weird going on, please anything helps... How much fluid do you guys put into your trans with just a fluid change NO FILTER CHANGE .
I think the engine has to be running to get a proper level check. I don’t notice that detail in this video. However, with the engine running, transmission fluid levels on a dipstick are almost always lower. This could account for the appearance of being overfull.
You won't get all of the fluid out when you drain it. Some remains in the torque converter and trans cooler, etc. I drained 3.4L of fluid. The best thing to do is replace the fluid with the amount you drained, check the level, drive the car, and if you want to further dilute the old fluid, repeat the process. You will never get 100% of the old fluid out.
There are about 100 different items that can cause that message. The first step is having all the modules scanned with a high end scanner to see what codes are present. Then we have a direct to go in. Otherwise it would be a guess. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe,
@@MotorCityMechanic smae question. But I had the TCM replaced. It still does the same thing. After either cycling the car on and off, or tapping the gear shifter nob the message disappears. The car will go back to driving like normal but with the check engine light on. Then a few days later it will happen again. My trans guy, a certified mopar tech for transmission said he has no clue. Any ideas?
There actually is no trans pan. There is a drain plug on the bottom on the trans however. The filter is not serviced and would require trans removal and separation in order to replace it. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
There is no interval for a routine trans service......suppose to be filled for life based on the service information. As far as a flush......a flush using most trans flush machines, uses about 12 qts of fluid and with the price per quart......you might not want to do that without taking out a small pre-approved loan lol.
+Chris Nash Morning Chris. The trans is the same. The procedure for checking the fluid is the same. As far as service. Its a sealed for life transmission where the fluid only needs to be checked when you have trans shifting issues. That's directly from the service info. There is a drain plug on the bottom that you can use if and when you decide to ever change the fluid. I know they say sealed for life but I still believe a fluid change should be done at some point. That point is up to you. 60k miles to 100k miles is what I would recommend. The fluid is not cheap so keep that in mind. I guess we will see how these transmissions hold up in the long run. Thanks for the question and don't forget to subscribe
+MotorCity Mechanic I just want to say thx. Keep up the great videos. Sealed for life trans, lol you are correct about changing it out. The dealer says I don't need to change oil till 10k for the first 1 change. I think that is a bit much. What are your thoughts on on that?
+Chris Nash I actually did a video on that lol. ua-cam.com/video/GNHujGdW2LU/v-deo.html . I don't believe in 10k mile services. Max on a gas engine, 5k in my book. Diesel 7,500.
Ali Elhamidi In order to add fluid to the same hole you checked the fluid with.....I recommend using a small pump that is used for differentials. These pumps fit into the bottles of fluid and can be purchased at any local parts store.
I have this same vehicle but it’s a 200 s and when I turn on my car after a while when it’s hot I turn the gear to D I always feel a jumping sensation. Is this normal or should I do something about this.
Its not abnormal. There may be a software update that can be performed if it hasnt been already to help it and then maybe what they call a "quick learn". Its something the dealer has to perform.
@@MotorCityMechanic i have a 2017 9 speed, is this the same transmission? Can you tell me if you have run in to any problems with the transmission shuddering when I'm 5,6,7 gears? I let off the throttle and then coast for a few seconds then when I reapply the throttle the car shudders as the transmission engages. My dealer thinks I'm crazy. Have you experienced this? If so have you found the cause. It is up to date on all its updates and recalls. Adaptations have been reset and has had no effect. Thank you!
The way this trans works as far as diag is when ever there is an issue. First steps....check for update and codes. If okay then check trans fluid level....if okay then drive learn....if okay then valve body......and then finally transmission. They pretty much dont let let us do any repairs other then these steps currently. Sounds like you have covered a few items already. Getting the dealer to take the next steps might be like pulling teeth.
MotorCity Mechanic, thanks for the quick reply. I had a feeling it would be something like that. I know it's a ZF transmission and I worked at a BMW dealer for a long time as a parts manager. We could never service a ZF trans, like you said it was replacement only. But I have a starting issue that I'm hoping might have some barring on the drivability problem. I guess I'll see what happens after I drop it off next week. Thank you again and awesome job on an informative video. 👍🏼
My 2015 200s has had no issues unit 32,000 miles, pulled up to a gas station and came out got in the car and the car didn't start, so it got towed to the dealer and they replaced the wiring harness and charged the battery , and they flashed the computer, after that the car didn't start up right away it chugged then started , a few days later the car wouldn't start again and the check engine light is on and transmission needs service light is on also the park brake service light is on. So frustrating!! Now it's back at the dealer. Hopefully this car lasts a while but i don't have high hopes. Help!!
I feel your pain. Hopefully they will get to the cause of this issue. Appears that there is more to it then they thought when they started with the initial repair. There have been some issues but for the most part but not so many with the newer models. Keep me updated on what they find and also when you dont notice any further issues. Its always good to hear problems and solutions so that it might help someone else in the future if they have the same codes or issues.
+kevin phothimath If its running the 6 speed then it will be different. There is no dipstick with the 6 speed (62TE). They have a tube and a cap on the tube. It takes a special tool (dipstick) that the dealer has to check the fluid level because its based on the trans temp and using a chart to determine the correct level. I don't have a video on that yet but stay tuned. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
+MotorCity Mechanic I liked this comment... Waiting to see your vid for a 2012 200 as that's what my gf's car is and while I love the car I loathe these contain transmissions. Her 06 explorer is the same dealio but a hell of a lot easier to deal with on my own. This 200 I'm gettig near the 60k mark where it recommends a filter/fluid change and I'm dreading dealer cost and at the same time I fear having to try it myself. I hope you whip up a video soon. You do a great job explaining things on these new trannies out there.
I do need to work on that video soon. I guess it possibly being a 4 parter is what is not making me motivated lol. I will try to get on it soon. Thanks for watching the video and make sure to subscribe if you havent already
Hey, I get it man, take your time... I'll keep watching. The gf's car is coming due (60k) for a change/filter so I'll be letting her take it to a pro. Her explorer was challenging enough, this Chrysler200 is off my charts in terms of ability, haha.
I just changed the trans fluid in my Avenger a couple days back. All went quite well and has been driving smoothly since without issues (i've put on about 200 miles since). Only concern is I only measured about 4.5 quarts that i took out taking into account some spillage and some fluid in the filter still. So I only put 4.5 back in. Ive read that normal trans fluid change is about 5.5 quarts. Having some trouble with the measurements because they fluctuate quite a bit even with the help of the scan tool. Basically what I'm wondering is if i didn't put enough fluid back in, how long will it take before I start noticing issues? Like I said i've put about 200 miles on, highway and city driving, and its been fine so I'm thinking everything is good. But will low fluid level be noticeable immediately or will that create problems over time? Thanks for your help.
+Smitty417 4 1/2 to 5 is normal on a 62te trans service. I start the ones up that I'm checking and just make sure the level is around 30-40 on the special dipstick tool. Otherwise you should be fine if your close. if there was a fluid level issue you would know right away
I had no intention of buying a 200, due to a personal vow to avoid Chrysler products with automatic transmissions at any cost, but now the sadist in me almost wants to go test drive one to see what a nine-speed transmission with $45 / qt. fluid shifts like.
+Dale Gribble I feel the more gears they add.....the more it shifts up and/or down and then the customer complains. I agree on the price of the fluid as well. But mine isn't to ask why, but to do or die lol
Manufacturers don't want people to change or check their trans fluid at home. Too many people don't know how to check level or put in the wrong fluid then it becomes a warranty issue and/or a reputation problem. Most manufacturers don't recommend transmission service till 100,000 miles
@@lard1892 Most have even gone to no interval for change. I hear in California a few places wont even let you work on your own car in your driveway beyond an oil change
No need for a trans check unless you have a leak , right ? You know you have a leak if puddle on garage floor . Take your car to a GOOD mechanic , pay the price get er done ! Dip sticks are long gone , gone with shade tree mechanics . Forget about fix it yourself .

Hello.thank for video.when we should chek fluid level on runing car or not runing?
Very good video, well explained 👍
Thank you for the video, one thing I do not see/hear, do you check it with the engine running or the engine off?

It used to be that you check transmission fluid with the engine running. I'm watching this video because I can't find one for a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. On the Pacifica you have to remove the battery. How can you remove the battery and check the fluid, or can you check the fluid without the engine running?
From what I read it doesn't need to be running on this trans.
Great Job, love this channel *****
Thanks Tony! Appreciate the support
I have 2017 Chrysler Pacifica - 9 Speed Automatic . There no information about what type of transmission fluid you have to use and how to check the transmission fluid level . Please advise . Thank you
I also have a 2017 Pacifica. I'd like to know how often I need to check and change the transmission fluid.
The type of fluid is in your owner's manual
It's 2023 and I have the same vehicle and same problem. I found the check/fill plug but how can you keep the engine running with the batter removed?
Retired Catapiller Heavy Equipment Mechanic
I have this car and im researching on doing this job.
I sure hope they do ! I mean it scares me that its even in park ! you cant feel it click into park like a regular shifter
pontiachotshot Yeah....transmissions don't operate the way they use to.
Great job. Thank you.
Would love to see video on how to drain and refill. Most importantly EXACTLY WHERE IS THE FILL PLUG..

Can u do video for Cherokee KL on changing automatic transmission fluid and filter?
I will certainly keep it in mind as a future video. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
So you effectively have to dismantle the fucker just to even check the fluid level. My moms 200 has a red puddle under it and I can’t even check the levels to see if it’ll make it to a service station to fix it.
Same question as milfordbeach should it be running when checking???
Helpful indeed.

some one speak about gear oil.. they told it can't be replaceed!!
means gear oil cannot be changed!
did they right?
Hello, I'm from Ukraine, I own a car chrysler 200, 2016r 2.4, which is better to pour oil into the transmission, thank you
Hi, thank you very much for this video.
Hey dave do you have a video on replacing a oil pan for a 2012 chrysler 200 2.4
Thanks great info
Appreciate it! Make sure to subscribe and check out some of my other videos as well.
wow. why no dip stick? this seems like a ton of work to check the fluid. not something I can easily do myself while changing the oil. this is insane
Vikingz Beard the dealer cant make service money if you diy all the time lol
Good channel subscribed...but this is pure b/s (i mean check method) where is normal with dipstick??? Thanks for sharing.
Alot of different manufactures have started going to the "no-dipstick" set up and I too agree that its a dumb idea. It can be a bit of a pain to check some of these vehicle. Never had an issue with dipsticks so why change it. Thanks for watching Hank! Make sure to subscribe!
Does that same tool work whether the car is FWD or AWD?
Good morning Mr. David, my car is Chrysler 200 model 2015 and engine size 2.4 lx, the problem is that the gearbox, the first time of agitation is lagging to the second crossover. The second tramp lags behind to the third tangle, but in less time. Please explain the possible possibilities for this failure.
accept my greetings.

Where can you find that 6 mm tool to take thetransmission bolt off??
Please enter the box designation. Who is the manufacturer and is it a good chest. Thank you

@@MotorCityMechanic I had crysler 200s model 2015 .2400 engine .. i need to know capacity of fluid for transmission
Hi there sir. Is it the same for a 2016 Chrysler 200 limited 4cyc with 2.4L engine
Doing a basic check.....it shows to have the same trans so the procedure should be the same. Thanks for asking and for watching. Make sure to subscribe.
Thanks u sir . Great video. Question , should ma car be only shifting hard from 4-5 gear intermittently?
And do u know where the vacuum switching valve located?
Can u do a video on a 2011 trans. Filter service 6 speed.
OK. thanks for great video.

Please are you have a nether way to change fluid transmission for c200 chrysler 2015
Thanks alot for the comment back, will go check out if there's an update
+Luis Cervantes your welcome
Luis Cervantes sadly our 2016 is doing the same thing.
Does the engine have to work when checking the oil level in the gearbox and the gearbox must be set to N?
@MotorCity Mechanic i have a 2017 9 speed, is this the same transmission? I've been going back and forth with dealer for over a year, sporadically downshifts so hard stuff flies off the seats or around in the trunk. No codes, resets haven't worked, star group said there is nothing they can do. Often happens mildly, tech says they can't reproduce. It apparently sat around for a year before I bought it, so I suggested they change the transmission oil, but they are saying sorry, sealed. 16K miles.
Is it the same process for a Chrysler 200 Limited 2015 2.4/ 4 cylinder?
Hello David,
Do you have any videos or info on checking automatic transmission fluid level on a 2013 Dodge Dart and any procedure instructions for changing the transmission fluid and filter?
+MotorCity Mechanic Thank You
+Aaronize your welcome.
I am reading some of the comments about the 9 speed transmission. In the military I had to deal with a general Electric transmission in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. it was a POS from the get go with so many modifications that ad to be done before the major issue of jumping into gear. The same holds true for the ZF 9 speed tranny.
thanks man!
Where do you put power Fluid on the 2015 200 at
Hi, David.
Sorry
Maybe you know someone that works with sealed GM automatic transmissions so I can ask him?
I wish I did.....we are the only dealership in the town that I work in. My paths dont cross with any GM techs unfortunately
+MotorCity Mechanic Right on, now if im dropping the pan and putting in new fluid and filter would this technique be safe as well?
Hello i have 9 speed 2.4 2016 Chrysler and how many liter of oil going into the gearbox??
Is it the same process on a 2015 Chrysler 200c
what do u think about these transmissions?
New transmission frist time how many litre needed?
How many miles should I change the transmission fluid in a 2016 Chrysler C200?

Yes....the engine needs to be running when checking the fluid. Thanks for the question and for watching. Make sure to subscribe and share the videos with others.

Got to love the way things can and cant be shipped. I dont know what other fluid to use other then the Mopar branded fluid.
Hi! 10323A is the same as 10323B?
How quarts did you have to buy ?
Hi, Can I use ATF+4 on the car?
What causes the “service transmission” message to come up on 2015 Chrysler 200
There are about 100 different items that can cause that message. The first step is having all the modules scanned with a high end scanner to see what codes are present. Then we have a direct to go in. Otherwise it would be a guess. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe,
MotorCity Mechanic the codes were p0480, U1409, U1412
@@MotorCityMechanic smae question. But I had the TCM replaced. It still does the same thing. After either cycling the car on and off, or tapping the gear shifter nob the message disappears. The car will go back to driving like normal but with the check engine light on. Then a few days later it will happen again. My trans guy, a certified mopar tech for transmission said he has no clue. Any ideas?
is there a drain plug on the transmission pan??
There actually is no trans pan. There is a drain plug on the bottom on the trans however. The filter is not serviced and would require trans removal and separation in order to replace it. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
like most new vehicles the filter is only replaced when rebuilding the trans. thanks much for your help
+sam schrenker Your welcome. Thanks for watching
Would you let me know what's the recommended fluid flush interval of the ZF 9-speed? Thank you for uploading this video!!
There is no interval for a routine trans service......suppose to be filled for life based on the service information. As far as a flush......a flush using most trans flush machines, uses about 12 qts of fluid and with the price per quart......you might not want to do that without taking out a small pre-approved loan lol.
Is this the same 9 speed as in the Jeep Renegade? If so the svs should be the same?
+MotorCity Mechanic
I just want to say thx.
Hi I have a 2015 Chrysler 200 limited on the trans what is the l used for
Hello Chris.....what exactly are you speaking of? I am a bit confused on what your asking so please excuse me
how can I put in more fluid. it looks like there is no way I can pour fluid in it !!🤔
Ali Elhamidi In order to add fluid to the same hole you checked the fluid with.....I recommend using a small pump that is used for differentials.
Have that same car and same problem
Dude, I'm been having the same oroblem with my car! It feels jumpy every time it's about to shift the gears!!
Thanks Jordan. I hope they get to the bottom of the issue your having. Appreciate you watching as well
So I gotta do all this just to check my fluid?! Why not just have the dipstick
I can tell you I won't be buying a Chrysler any time soon!
I was wondering if 2012 Chrysler 200 S 3.6 L 6 speed would be the the or not?
Thanks for watching and for the comment. Dont forget to subscribe and share the videos
+Smitty417 Evening......let me know the year of the Avenger please.
+MotorCity Mechanic Its a 2011, 62TE tranny. 3.6L engine
+Smitty417 4 1/2 to 5 is normal on a 62te trans service. I start the ones up that I'm checking and just make sure the level is around 30-40 on the special dipstick tool. Otherwise you should be fine if your close. if there was a fluid level issue you would know right away
+MotorCity Mechanic Thanks for the response! Much appreciated!
Justin Smit Your very much welcome. any time
Does anybody know if the 10323A is the same as 10323B?
Thanks!
Never would have this car..Test drove one..The dealer wanted to drive it I said no thanks and walked away ..pure problems
Great video but why can't these manufactures just install a dam dip stick!
I fully agree Dennis....makes no sense to me either. Thanks for watching and dont forget to subscribe.
Forget about fix it yourself .
thanks

The L on the shifter on my 2015 Chrysler 200 what is that gear used for it has P R N D L
Chris Morgan used for engine braking using shifting into lower gear ratios
what a disaster just to check/replace the transmission fluid
