I own both. If you’re doing kickboxing, go with hayabusa, there’s a lot of back of hand/ palm protection. Plus wrist protection for blocking kicks, and after you’ve broken them in they’re pretty good to use to clinch with. They’re alright on the bag but feel a little mushy and springy almost from the IMF foam. They’re also soft enough to spar with. I’ve had them for around a year, and they haven’t really broken down, except for them looking a little faded and the mesh starting to wear a tiny bit. If you’re doing pure boxing, buy the rivals. They have really good wrist support for a glove in its price range and the padding lasts a long time. They sell both a bag and sparring version, but if you want versatility and can only afford one pair, buy the sparring versions. The hayabusas I found aren’t great for boxing, at least the s4 model. They feel weird when you hit the bag and they feel strange as they have a lot of protection on the back of the wrist, something not typical of many boxing gloves.

I’m just getting into striking after a couple years of wrestling and bjj and was looking at getting the s4, any other recommendations?

If you want a good glove for less than $100 here are a few good ones. Pro Impact, Rival Wrist Bolt, Anthem Athletics and Ibro. There are a few to consider.

Is the S4 a bag glove? I have seen sizing like that on bag gloves only.

I just read the Hayabusa website. It doesn't call it a bag glove but it says "perfect for bag work and pads"
So yeah it's probably technically a bag glove.

I was watching another video on those hyabusa gloves, he said if u use it on bags the gloves padding wears out extremely fast which shouldn’t happen if ur paying that kind of price

I dont know why but im from Spain and its extremely difficult to find the S4 at a normal price point because the shipment costs go crazy in every website, any other options that offer that wrist stability the Hayabusa gloves do?

I don't like hayabusa its to tight on the risk. I like more freedom around my underarm. Expressly with the double strep it's not my thing

Fair enough, some people like the wrist support more and some like their wrists to be free.

I just bought the Hayabusa gloves and with my big hands i found it difficult to get my hands in because of the second strap. BUT…
There is always a solution. Cut the second strap like i did, it wont damage anything and then you put the gloves on with absolutely no problem. Feels very comfortable and amazing now!
