Velcro on the winning is the worst I've ever used. The velcro is paper thin flimsy shit. Its pretty much mandatory to heavily wrap your wrist or have your trainer give you professional wrap but if you have that good of hand wraps on then any glove will be safe enough for your hands and it defeats the purpose of the velcro gloves which is speed and ease of use. Lace up winnings are worth it, but most people don't need or use laceups anyways.

Im looking for a new pair I can use for mitts but im debating between Fairtex Microfiber gloves or the On1 Outslayer made from Faux leather. Both are $100 but from what I read Microfiber should last longer.

Just got the T3 Crimson LX Shin Guards in small and just tried them out tonight. I think thats basically the main difference between the T3s Vs Hayabusa/Kanpeki is basically that the latter are made with "full grain" leather. thats basically the main difference between the gear. But I do have a good thing to say about the shing guards so im actually going to buy the gloves to match. my first impression was that they are almost flat upon receiving. There is NO rigidity on the shin guard and when I saw in the mirror, I saw they are so wide its hilarious. When it came to actual practical use, I notice that it lacks heel protection but the foot and instep protection is AMAZING. they are wide currently so it does feel odd to break in. One thing I noticed it that it had silicon dots on the inside and it really DOES highly resist slipping. I only adjusted my shin guard once. but basically if they went so far to think of a ton of features to add to them, then I think they are worth the money - If you have it to spend on it. I still prefer my fairtex SP8 or 7 or 9 forget the model. the one with detachable foot gaurd, and they are like 80-110$ after taxes and shipping.

This is straight from their website "Our Synthetic Leather Bag Gloves perform the job they were designed for, to protect your hands when working out on the Heavy Bag or Punch Mitts, but at half the price of other Bag Gloves. Slip-on, oven mitt design features an open thumb and elastic wrist".

Which Cleto Reyes gloves to buy? None. They'll never get my business again. Why? I recently received yet another unusable pair of 8 oz lace-up (SafeTec) fight gloves. This time, it was because the liners hung down loose on the inside of the gloves. This interfered with the users ability to put their hands in all the way. After scouring the internet, I came across others who recently experienced the same issue. The kicker is that upon returning their gloves for an exchange, they received a new pair that had the same fatal flaw. After attempting several times to leave an honest, albeit unfavorable, review on their website, I gave up trying. Why? Because they wouldn't post any of them. So as not to give any reason for them to not post it, they were carefully worded and respectful. What's really odd about this is that after having a website for so many years, there are still no reviews/ratings for the gloves that I ordered -- favorable or otherwise. My last pair of good Cleto Reyes gloves were my 16 oz lace-up sparring/training gloves from the early '90s. Instead of taking a gamble with a brand that has long ago lost its way, spend your money elsewhere. Paying a little more for a classic pair of (real) Winning boxing gloves is actually far cheaper in the long run than going through multiple pairs of unsatisfactory-to-mediocre gloves. For those in the English-speaking world, or who live in the USA, there is only one authorized online dealer and it's as follows: store.winning-usa.com/index.html Buying from anywhere else is taking a huge risk. With third-party vendors, you'll either end up overpaying for the real ones, or you'll receive some cheap Pakistani/Chinese 'Winning' knock-offs. If you're looking for a quality Mexican glove with a comfortable thumb, good padding, wrist support, stitching, and leather, Necalli is a great value and worth far more than what they charge.

To me, it's not what you say, but how you say it. It's just level setting before sparring/training, so your partner can adjust accordingly. I can usually tell within a couple of seconds the skill level of someone I'm grappling with, and at least in my experience, white belts tend to sandbag too often. Sometimes it feels like they are just fishing for an advantage, which is just a different way of managing insecurity. Personally, I don't care other than that I'm not going to roll with a true white belt in the same way as an All-American wrestler or Blue Belt in BJJ because training should be a mutually beneficial experience.

Great review. I’ve had the hayabusa pros and they were good. Especially for wide feet. I had the same experience with them fitting larger than expected. Had to return my first pair to go a size smaller. Hayabusa paid for return shipping which was awesome. Otherwise, good shoe, but at the end of the day, I returned them and got the Everlast elite2s and was happy with my decision.
