Great video man, what would your recommendation be for someone who plays modern rock/metal the classics or moderns? Having a tough time deciding between the two
The classics for sure, the hot rodded higher output voicing is killer for metal, but also great for rock and then you also have a paf. The moderns are really tight and cutting, which wouldn't cover as much tonal ground.
I had the white moderns a couple years back. Put them in a Jackson x series sounded too harsh and thinned out on the active and too dark and flat on the passive. Put them into schecter Damien 6 same issue. Ended up selling the guitar. But recently decided to try them again on a Jackson pro plus dk ht6 multiscale 25.5-26.5 they’re the 7 string version because of the fan fret. And they sound amazing. Just like I wanted them to sound before
There is a modern in the second guitar, but I was just showing the single coil sound, not doing a comparison video, but I might in future. Although I did demo that ltd recently when it had moderns in it on the ENGL with all the same settings and did an out of mix so you can hear the difference there on the same guitar.
@@MetalHeadProductions Thanks, i compared the two videos. The modern sounds thinner than the MT signatures. I currently installed the mick thomsons in my guitar, but they seem to miss something i can not tell. Maybe mids?
@@jeanst5465 they have less overall midrange compared to the moderns, which some people feel is too much and nasal, but the Mick's have the mids which you need them for cut.
I had a hard time with downpicked notes alternating between palm muted and regularly picked notes sounding like Mario going down a pipe. I wonder if they’ve corrected that
@@MetalHeadProductions I’m not saying I have good technique but other pickups don’t do it and if you listen to Matt Heafy play his, it makes the same sound 😬

Glad you found what worked for you with them

last 10 mins of this is just a black screen buddy
I thought we getting an extra ten minutes...
Oops! No idea how that happened with the render. I'll get that fixed. Thank you!

That's just gonna come down to technique and just something to work on.

@@dougleydorite you might be pickups up on some pick attack or something that is more clear with a cutting pickup like these, not sure.
I was waiting for the bonus footage at the end.
Bonus footage?
@@MetalHeadProductions the 10 minutes of blackness/silence, boss man. I scanned through it wondering what was there.
@@AlwayzTired yeah I realized. No idea why it rendered that way but it's gone now
