There’s definitely a pecking order amongst canines. i used to live way out in the country and night you would hear all the dogs barking, then the coyotes, but as soon as the wolves started howling everyone else would immediately be quiet
I've been a fan of wolves my whole life, but it continues to surprise me just how beautiful and affectionate they can be! They get stereotyped a lot and they're really misunderstood, but they're actually these amazing creatures. Thanks for helping spread the word about them, so everyone else can appreciate them
Right now I'm reading a book "Don't cry wolf" by Farley Mowat. This book is written by a man, biologist who was living for 1,5 years among wild arctic wolves in Canadian tundra. The book is really exciting and there's a lot of humor! What a coincidence that this video was shown for me by UA-cam))))
For those who may be confused about how wolves (huskies too) "cool down" the blood heading to their feet, it's a heat echange system. Blood flowing from the body passes directly adjacent to the blood returning from the feet and heat passes to the returning blood. The blood entering the feet is cooler than body temps so loses less heat than it would otherwise, and the blood returning gets a partial warmup before entering the core. Though it's not a 100% heat exchange, it is surprisingly efficient.
About 38 yrs ago I had an encounter with a young Black Bear at a river while fishing in the Cariboo region of British Columbia. Already landed one trout had one more on line heard a few snoots /grunts behind me a young Black Bear he wanted my fish so put my rod down as not to threaten him I sat there very scared he took my trout walked about 20feet away and had dinner I did manage to land the other fish and gave that to him also he followed me back to my camp site we sat around the camp fire I drank beer and he just cuddled up by the fire (IT was so scarry but yet there seemed to be a bond)
You're very lucky it was a black bear. They're one of the easier ones to scare away if needed. Very timid. If it were a grizzly you probably wouldn't be here.
My all time from a child favourite animal ! I had the honour to help Shaun the wolf man in ilfracombe in Devon at his sanctuary my gift was to be kissed by a she wolf on the cheek ! She was so gentle for me the best day . What a beautiful episode showing there gentle but structured family we can learn so much from them ! 🙏🏻🐺🏴
Being in a wolf pack requires you to perform certain responsibilities which is not reasonable to be performed by a human on ethical and moral grounds.....wolves accepted him for giving pets 😂
bro… I was reading this and like thinking to myself. “What is this guy implying?” and then you finished off the sentence. The sigh of relief I had couldn’t be explained. 😂
This is polar park in norway .. it's a great place to visit and connect with wolves ! They have some huge Wolfies there .. many tv shows have been there to film and the Wolfies are generally very friendly ... at a Swedish wolf park I remember some guys had left candy in their pockets (against warnings to do that ) and it started some aggressive behaviour from one wolf in particular .. a ranger had to chase the wolf off sadly they destroyed the wolves when a ranger was killed by one ... I live with a pack of wolves and wolfdogs .. they are incredible creatures .. but need firm handling
Like always, this time also we got to watch a wonderful and informative video. It is really very interesting to watch a video full of risks on wildlife.🎉🎉

I work at a dog daycare and I’m so curious if what I know from that would translate into working with wolves. Obviously it’s very different, but I just wonder
Dogs have been bred to retain their juvenile subservient attitude towards older wolves and direct it towards humans. Each part of the natural hunting behaviour of wolves has been selected for and emphasized in different breeds that have been developed for different purposes - herding, guarding, chasing, tracking prey by smell, etc One problem people who have tried to make pets of wolves have found is that once the wolf becomes an adult, it doesn't have the concept of deferring to the human as boss. It regards itself as an equal. Some people think a pet wolf will defend them and intimidate their opponents. Wild animals avoid confrontations whenever possible because they can't risk an injury that could hamper their ability to find food, so a wolf will do its best to escape rather than attack. It has no concept of risking itself to defend a human. Dogs have been selected to relate to humans by interpreting their facial expressions, tone of voice, gestures, etc. and to care about what they observe. This has taken tens of thousands of generations. Wolves have almost none of that, and it can't be trained into them. There are a lot of books by people who have closely observed wolves in the wild. Your library may have some.
They really act just like dogs in this video, but wolfs really aren't pets. People who have part wolf dogs find out the hard way when they totally destroy the whole house.
Incrível ...Os lobos reconhecem-no como outro lobo e cumprimentam-no!! São bem educados ...e faz parte da matilha! Esta espécie adaptou-se bem ao frio...tudo a preceito para viver no extremo!!
Indeed. Even living in wolf country, and hearing their howls and seeing their tracks all the time, it's extremely rare to see the wolves, much less get close to them. They have keen senses and avoid people.
I highly doubt that those wolfs were able to domesticate the guy. At best they tamed him a little, he could still turn on them in the blink of an eye if they aren't careful and don't keep an eye on him.😉
Yeah maybe !!! but he was just trying to demonstrate their trust and friendliness how else would people know how trusting and friendly these wolves really. were 🐺🐺🐺🌲🌲🌲
Not really... I would never want to approach wild wolves like that because I am putting my life and he wolves life at dangers. If the wolves attack or hurt me then their punishment is to pay with my life and mines is probably to pay a fine if the wolves are protected...

Farley Mowat is a great Canadian author. The Boat That Wouldn't Float and The Dog That Wouldn't Be are also funny, satisfying reads. Hope you enjoy!
Just amazing.
Beautiful and extremely clever creatures.
