- 2016年10月8日～9日の日程で茨城県ひたちなか市の自動車安全運転センターにて開催された「第47回全国白バイ安全運転競技大会」のダイジェストをお送りします。
全国都道府県警察・皇宮警察から選りすぐりの男女白バイ隊員が集結し、その運転技術を競い合うというこの大会、今回もその名称からは想像もつかないほど熾烈な戦いが繰り広げられました。
このVol.4には、大会二日目に行われた傾斜走行操縦競技・女性クラスの模様を収録。競技内容は男女共通ですが、上位選手ともなれば男性でも苦労する難コースを女性白バイ隊員ならではの豪快かつ繊細な走りで見事に攻略しています。男性隊員とは違うしなやかなバイク操縦技術が見どころです。
今大会ではウエットからドライへと路面状況が変化したため、出走順によって運不運があったと推測される男性クラスとは異なり、女性クラスがスタートする頃には路面はほとんどドライに。イコールコンディションのなか男性隊員以上の鋭い加速と減速を繰り返しながら力走する女性白バイ隊員の姿をご覧ください。

They didn't use clutch at all, only throttle and rear braking

They are on 2nd gear, it's enough to control the bike especially on instant turns without touching the clutch

バイクというのは極めればここまで手足のように動かすことができるということを世界中に知らしめている。しかも男女の体力差は関係なく技術力の勝負だということも彼女達は教えてくれている。

police version of the honda cb1300. You can see they are using the clutch when they first start off, but during the manouvers it looks like they are using a lot of brake and no clutch. Very cool.
