Yeah. I am autistic and I have the same problems, which is why Mr. Spock is one of my favourite fictional characters. I have to be honest- I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but I think Spock is AWESOME!
I think he does get the nuances more often than he's given credit for. But most of the time he chooses to react in the proper Vulcan way ... which can be pretty problematic when everyone around you is a human.
Indeed Spock does "get the idea," and he uses logic in defense, both by choice and reflexively. His development throughout the series as a character along with the others' perception of him was...in a word...fascinating.
I think Spock is misunderstood. To a degree. The Vulcans are a race of high logic, but if anyone thinks they are void of emotion I think that is a mistake. When Mr Spock died he acknowledged the captain as his friend. That is an emotional response so he had to have had emotion. It was just instinct because of his bloodline to respond logically. I never truly believed that Mr Spock was void of emotion.
They have learned to suppress their emotional tendencies, Bit Sarek loved and married an earth woman,Spock has the best and the worst of both cultures without that emotional control he could easily kill a normal man with just one punch , Vulcans are stronger than any normal human on the enterprise.
While it sounds good, the question of whether an unknown species will choose "fight or flight" if presented with a threat is not really something that gets more predictable with feeling. Will they feel angry or will they feel scared? And the alternative - going and simply killing some of the creatures - would leave similar uncertainties as to their reaction.
Because Mccoy was the emotional conscience of kirk in a way. remember kirk's "death letter" to spock and mccoy telling spock to listen to mccoys input and to tell mccoy not to over react at how spock "seems" emotionless ... zz hence spocks message to himself in the 2009 timeline change film something along the lines of not wanting to deprive spock of the friendship with kirks.. zz
I've been watching videos on logical fallacies in the form of Mr. Spock from the Animated Series. He's somewhat of a buttinsky, overhearing people's conversations and stepping in to correct their arguments, only sometimes does it affect efficient ship's operations.
Jeez, Spock had some f-ing bushy eyebrows early on. Anyone else think someone got sick of those caterpillars one day and so sat him down for a serious tweezing?
Kirk: I don't care if you hit the broad side of a barn. Spock: Why should I aim at such a structure? Kirk: As a demonstration of the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy. It's only logical, Mr. Spock. ua-cam.com/video/9HMHbC2DO-A/v-deo.html You forgot the most coldly logical thing Spock ever said: “Edith Keeler must die.”

poor spock just never gets the nuance of any situation...
Sounds like Aspergers.
@@nehemiahmarcus308 Agreed! I have Aspergers and Spock is probably the most relatable fictional character I know. I

"Your father was a computer and your mother was an encyclopedia!" - James T. Kirk with the greatest insult of all time...
Masterchief461 *eyes tear up* That's so beautiful. :')
Klingons: Enterprise, your mother was a garbage truck! 😝

It was....logical.

Rest long and prosper.. wherever you are..
😆😆😆
In the realm of pure logic.
Any time Mudd shows up, it's usually top notch!
1:15 I like how Kirk, despite his own grief over Chekov's (supposed) death, come to Spock's defence.
RIP Mr Spock ....and thank you
Rest In Peace, Leonard Nimoy & thanks.
'They were perfectly predictable to anyone with feeling'...wow. what a comment!

@@kathrinlindern2697 There's also freeze and think/communicate.
RIP Mr SPOCK !!!!! ........ YOU WERE GREAT !!!!
My Favorite Episode is When Spock said "It's was Sneaky, & Logical". LOL, (smile)
Commander Spock : logic is a flock of little yellow birds , in a wreath of blue flowers, that smell bad I Mudd
"Logic is a little tweeting bird chirping in a meadow. Logic is a wreath of pretty flowers which smell _bad."_
Everyone should strive to be like him, and nobody does. Just keep staring at the trainwreck.

Anyone ever think about how our ears would look to people from Vulcan?
i miss his logic...there seems to be a ominous lack of it these days...

Seriously. I really could've used a friend like him in my younger years.
@raulquiroz7492 but would you have listened?
Does anybody ever think that Spock saves everybody in all episodes of show?
be ok if you could hear it without cranking volume up full
5:47 how to hit on a Vulcan.
Nurse "My name is Christine" Chapel should have taken some lessons in logical thinking and emotional control if she wanted to get through to him.
"emotions are alien to me; i'm a scientist."
SPOCK!
Hey at 04:50 that's Don Marshall from Land of the Giants 🙂
THE SPOCK MARKET!
YES! TRADEMARK HERE WITH THIS TIMESTAMP!!!!!!!!!!
Warp speed my pointy-eared friend.
Logic dictates that my fondness for these clips might someday reveal to my Internet girlfriend that I must be much older than I claimed.
It all makes perfect sense once you look at it as a whole system
Rest in peace
Commander Spock would raise an eyebrow and say something like: Interesting!
I used to laugh at bones and spock arguments. Funny
2:21 I know what you’re thinking. Why would you choose this version of Spock? This literally looks like Leonard Nimoy mixed with a demon.
should have kept in "I love you ...but i hate you." that was EPIC!!
Although I would have preferred the scenes to be cut a little later, I do like this video.
Yes i m learning practical English as oldschool times Bill abi.
Why are their voices so crisp?🤔
Benedict Cumberbatch at 0:15
What is the evolutionary logic of pointy ears??
Logical
Jeez, Spock had some f-ing bushy eyebrows early on. Anyone else think someone got sick of those caterpillars one day and so sat him down for a serious tweezing?
it's kind of funny that i believe every other male vulcan in tos had insane bushy brows even well after they had established Spock's look.
RIP
The 40 year old virgin.
Spock should have subjugated the inferior Earthlings. 😂
Kirk: I don't care if you hit the broad side of a barn.
Spock: Why should I aim at such a structure?
Kirk: As a demonstration of the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy. It's only logical, Mr. Spock.

Nowadays everything's based off emotion
Haha watch William Shatner trying hard not to crack up from 2:35 - 2:59.
did u know willaim shatner had to take acting lessons during the filming of TOS
He was a classically trained stage actor
Did you know he was also a dentist?

I think Data solves more problems than Spock
Data can't even read a room half the time and pisses off more people. 😂 How is that problem solving?
Too bad McCoy constantly berates Spock.
It's now 2023, and in a few months 24,
we are getting very close to this AI creation. Already they'll do various 🥴 things 😐.
Chip off the old block in the energy department, Old Yeller.
