      James Robinson awesome man!! Just keep in mind that with the locked spool your gonna be way more likely to round out the hex in the rear wheels like I did. Or a rear driveshaft could be more likely to break as well. And my steering feels much weaker after locking the rear diff.

    Awesome video. I recently added my V3 diff from my outcast and it’s performing well. I made a video as well. I was told about this spool as an option. But the V3 diff is perfect. Easy fix. Of course I had an extra diff laying around. I’m glad to see yours with the spool is driving pretty well. Thanks for sharing! Subbed. Sucks about the hex. Some of proline wheels do

    I feel your pain and bought the same one a little while ago it lasted about five or six runs but unfortunately that little bit of play will eventually cause the pin to snap which did happen then it just turned left I do believe it is a good fix and have since bought a different brand spool which was also a little bit more expensive at 45 but they claim to have a snugger fit so I'm giving it a try. also I have heard that drill blanks or drill bit with 2.5mm shaft tend to be stronger than the pins that are in the diff already you just have to cut to length which I'm also going to try anyways I hope this helps and Bash on

      A. Smith thanks for the tip man! At this point I don’t really want to put any more money into my EXB. I think I’m just gonna wait on the lsd that Arrma is supposedly sending me

    Appreciate the vid. But this is terrible. Does Arma really expect its customers to come up with solutions to their faulty diff designs?? The EXB cost $470. If you don’t have spare electronics lying around it’ll cost close to $1K just to get it moving. Then we need to play trial and error to make the diffs work right?? This launch has been a complete failure for the EXB. So glad I didn’t run out and purchase this RC.

    • @RCKnockout
      @RCKnockout  4 роки тому

      pewterngold I’ve kinda done mine on a budget. I probably have $750 all in on mine not including the cost of the locking spool. Its definitely been frustrating. I think Arrma was just trying to get as many EXBs built cause they were on preorder and in the process they made some sloppy mistakes. To be honest I would be kinda concerned about buying any new release Arrma just because they’re trying to mill them out as fast as they can to keep up with the orders. That’s where mistakes are made. I think they need to take it back a few notches and really focus on quality control cause issues like this could really hurt their reputation if they continue to make mistakes

    • @pewterngold
      @pewterngold 4 роки тому +1

      RC Knockout....I agree. I’m just having flashbacks. I have an early version Outcast that was nothing but one big headache with all the shimming vids I had to watch to remove the slop inside the diffs they were shipped with. I don’t think Arma addressed that until the V4 Outcast but I might be wrong. Anyways, I’m just tired of giving this company a pass on stuff like this. They take our money and then they’re like... “ try this or see if this will work”. I think they knew the rear diffs were going to be an issue. There’s another UA-camr (well respected) who said that when he picked up his EXB from his hobby store, there was an Arma rep there who suggested that he upgrade the rear diff to an lsd. If that’s true, than shame on Arma if they knew the open rear diffs were going to fail.

    • @RCKnockout
      @RCKnockout  4 роки тому

      pewterngold I’m not sure if they knew they were gonna fail but they definitely didn’t shim some of the rear diffs properly which caused damage. It doesn’t sound like isolated cases either. Sounds pretty wide spread. I guess it just comes down to luck whether or not you receive a correctly assembled rear diff?

      pewterngold yeah I was looking to buy a Arrma just to get away from cheap diff gear problems all that’s money to be fixing on it every time I wanna play with it is frustrating true it’s a hobby and things gonna break eventually I totally agree Arrma needs to step up their game they should no better helI can buy 2 cheaper RCs that holds up better than this this.

      And thus the reason I will not purchase another Arrma until they figure out their drive trains and scale incompatibility. Such a good machine, but there are too many faults right now.

    Do the cyclones on dirt ONLY. I accidentally started doing them and lucky it was dirt. I'd never do it on pavement just because of the rc materials not being all metal. Definitely fun though. My brother has a 70 chevelle 6 second 1/8 th mile car naturally aspirated and he loves it when I hand him the remote for this. And I love it when he hands me the keys to his chevelle.
