    Well this is a lesson learned to do my research before doing something! I've spent almost a month and a half doing rivets with super glue and a sewing needle, wasting so much time and I barely made any progress. I'm so glad I found this. Hopefully this can save me allot more time and make up the time I lost. This is a brilliant method

      @@JeffReiten I'm really glad I came across this aswell! It's really helping me out allot, saved me so much precious time. Also for my project, I'm building a 1:600 scale model of the rms oceanic (1899). I had to make every single plate and porthole, now I just have to add all the rivets lol 😅

    A useful way of doing it for steel structures. I make rivets with a beading tool. Good stuff man.

    THAT'S FANTASTIC!
    I'm vaguely familiar with part of the concept, but I've never done it in such small scale.
    I've been tinkering with car/truck bodies for slotcars in 1/32 and 1/25 scale.
    I'm pondered building an older stock car lookin thing (pickup truck) with a tonneau cover, and the full "aluminum" treatment (spoilers, etc).
    I would only do it with the appearance of riveted Aluminum though.
    I can handle 1/25 scale.
    Thanks for the video.

      Thanks Tony!...Sounds like a Fun Project and Nothing Beats the look of all those rivets in Aluminum!

    if on armour say though you get a lip edge of tinfoil so its gonna look messy,but I would punch out rivets of tinfoil and glue them in place seperatley

    you think this would be poissible to do on a 1/350 scale ship ? I might be crazy but I might give it a try

    • @JeffReiten
      @JeffReiten  3 роки тому

      Hey Mike!..I have done it with great success on N Scale 1/160th ...I have also used basic etching to create the holes in .005 brass for the smaller scales instead of drilling....I think if you can create the spaced holes it will work...let me know how it goes!

    Any tips on make loose individual rivets?

    • @JeffReiten
      @JeffReiten  2 роки тому

      Hey ikkiiieee!!!..I've experimented with a number of ways and have never really like any of the results so basically for loose rivets I buy them from Tichy Train www.tichytraingroup.com/Shop/tabid/91/c/ho_nbw--rivets/p/8017-020-diameter-rivets/Default.aspx or rivet decal sheets www.micromark.com/O-scale-decals-with-raised-3D-rivets-and-other-surface-details?gclid=Cj0KCQjw8O-VBhCpARIsACMvVLPS6Gb4PT96XyDSaOIUJIVv4U238znDNM-oe39g_Gsj9lrU_lnbj-QaAknQEALw_wcB

    Can’t find any tinfoil in my area, can I use aluminium foil?

    • @JeffReiten
      @JeffReiten  2 роки тому

      Hey Bruce! Yep..I should have added both names we just tend to call it tin foil up here but it is technically aluminum foil...Heavyweight Aluminum foil works the best but regular will work
      😁
