My grandmother was a marvelous chef and she cooked on a wood stove had no running water or modern plumbing. yet she made the best food and always had a solution for every instance. She told me how to peel an onion without crying. The secret: Keep your mouth shut!. Closing the mouth prevents the gases released from the onion when it is pierced to get into your nostrils. She also commented that is why most women cry, they just can't keep their mouths shut. :D

Hello VahChef. I have watched several of your recipe videos and find all of them great presentations.
This one in particular is one that I was searching for because I need a gravy paste to go with the coconut milk rice that is non-spicy (by tweaking your recipe) and made palatable for the locals here.
    Thank you VahChef.

Dear chef, to avoid the gravy got struck with bottom, we can sartay the onion, tomato and masalas and then transfer into a vessel which will be placed In the cooker. Fill the cooker with small amount of water at the bottom , place the vessel then pressure cook. In this method the gravy never struck with the bottom. your views please?

    hi,
i am a big fan of VahRehVah recipes but i have doubt with this preparation, in preparing different kind of recipes, veg or non veg, with (ready) prepared Onion Tomato Gravy which includes same particular type of dry spices will it not taste same in every curries and in long run it will become monotonous ------- so, may i prepare Onion Tomato Gravy without adding other dry spices --- as so i can add other masalas of my choice in different curries in process cooking to have different taste of each curry--s.
