QR codes make it very easy to quickly navigate to specific web pages, such as restaurant menus, but they can also lead you to dangerous phishing schemes or pages infected with malware.

Guys simple. If you have huge amount for savings at your account, don't keep options for this kind of digital payments. Do only manul transaction by visiting banks. For digital transactions open a normal account in different bank and have Balance like 2000 or 3000 rs. If u need, transfer from your savings to here and start do Gpay, phonepe , QR code etc.. I am from a normal middle class family & doing this 👍

Simple do not enter your pin to receive amount. BTW you can setup limits on your transaction.

This happens to us each time we post ad . First call will be from scammer.. Thankfully escaped without scanning the QR . Using "army officers" name only..

This happened to me as well..I was selling garden sprayer on Facebook Market place.When I placed product,Suddenly I got reply from the guy he introduced me as army officer and he needs 100 of spray bottles and he asked me the bank account details…but however I skipped the order…

This happened to me today.. that fellow spoke only in Hindi.. he sent QR codes. I said I need to meet you, but he immediately cut the call and deleted all WhatsApp messages..

This happened with me as well when I was trying to sell my couch in OLX, he was an army officer and sent me a QR code we even spoke over the phone, i was very surprised why it's asking me to pay and i said i cannot. He was talking very nice before but after i said i cany he abused and kept the phone and never answered again

Even I had a same situation when I was posted my home for rent in 99acres. I got response from 3 members stating same story ,as they are getting transferred to chennai need to shift the house. And they were ready to send the money but I said we would like to see you in person then ll negotiate the advance. Later he asked me we cannot come just like as we are army soldier. Then I said when u get time please let us know will meet. And didn't agress for any kind of money transaction. Really I was escape from this Scam. I think we need to have some security in public website.
Same thing happened to me when i posted by property on housing before a week.2 people with the same display picture in different number approached me through watsapp stating that they are transferring from Delhi to Chennai.After that my husband alerted me then I said we are handling only cash no online transactions accepted.Thank God we escaped from the scam

I also was created by an army man who said he is from Army and wanted to take my house on rent and sent his Adhaar card PAN card etc. Though I asked him to visit the house, he told me that he can come with his family on transfer. he wanted to pay in advance in full. He sent one QR code. I was not knowing how to use the QR code. He initially, sent a QR code and asked me to scan and I found that Rs.100 was credited to my account. So, again he sent a QR code for 25,000 and I pressed the QR code, and alas, my amount was debited. I became furious. I asked that man and he told me that he is from the army and I should believe in their services. Again he sent a QR code along with the swiping machine etc. So, I wanted to check and again 25,000 was debited. I understood that I was cheated by that person. and was very angry. I immediately fired him and blocked his call. I rang up-0 to my banker and gave a complaint.. They register my case but nothing has improved. I lost 50,000 Rs. Being senior citizens, we were not conversant with QR code or net banking and so we were cheated. Ciber crime did not do any help. This happen in October 2021. My advice to everyone is that many such crimes are happening and we should be very careful.
After clicking pay Next option will be OTP right?? Then how come money will deducted?
The QR triggers upi method and it doesnt require OTP authentication, even though it need upi pin but i guess they r bypassing it in someway
