    The Honor Guard paid tribute at my father's funeral, it was wonderful,and beautiful, and I'm sure my dad was very proud. He loved the Air Force and told his children many stories. Thank You so very much for honoring my dad's last wishes.

    I joined the base honor guard at Keelser AFB as a MSgt (E-7) because we were failing to deliver honors to WWII veterans due to a lack of people...It was my greatest service to my Air Force and I led the best ceremonial guardsmen I've ever worked with.
    Makes me proud to see this video as this team came out and trained my team...we set the standard and then never lowered the bar...

      I'm curious, do you have to be an enlist to be an honor guard?

      ICanHazGaming12345 I'm not sure but I think you have to apply for it in basic.

      The base honor guard will take anyone...the Air Force Honor Guard only takes Active Duty members

    I wish I was 5'10" or taller to have been able to become an honor guard.

    I'm cringing so hard with the mislabeled ranks on this.

    "There's a twister within half a mile, sir. I don't think we should be out here."
    "I DON'T CARE! NOW GET OUT THERE AND SPIN THAT RIFLE!"

    With the VA in shambles, the HG will always be busy. More vets die waiting to get into VA, then get in. Most doctors are in the VA for the money and bonues, pretty sad.

      Joseph Davis actually that's funny. His videos are why I decided to go with Air force! Of the air force doesn't let me in than I'll go to marines. I want to serve my country no matter what branch at the end!

    How does one become a member of the honor guard?

    • @colors-bx7ly
      @colors-bx7ly 9 років тому +16

      Kamryn Schmidt first be accepted into the Air Force. then meet the height and weight standards to be a member . talk to your recruiter about it. understand that it is not an easy job and training is intense. standing tight for 1-2 hours requires mental and physical toughness. but I can tell you that becoming a Ceremonial Guardsman is quite an accomplishment. good luck.

    Who made this video? The microphone volumes aren't properly leveled and you quite literally can't hear much that the airmen say over the music.
