One of the most dreaded times in a soldiers life is saying so long to a fellow soldier, but this is an honor to be able to say it in this way. From one soldier to another I salute you. Carry on!
So smooth and effortless. My great grandfather was a SMSGT during Vietnam in the USAF. I hope his service is as smooth as this when his time on Earth is over. Such precision.
With about six months left on my active duty enlistment I was selected to represent my squadron on the base funeral detail. At the time I was angry because this meant I had to buy a new blue blouse because my 23 year old body had outgrown the one that was issued to my 19 year old body. However, I was never called to perform this duty, and now that I look back on it I’m ashamed I felt that way, and I’m sad that I never had the chance to have been called to honor one of our veterans or one of our fallen.
Dear Sir: Thank you for your service! You should not feel sad nor angry. Your service, your sacrifice and honor is shown here to all who read this. Never look back and feel ashamed of a thought you had in an instant. Just writing your thoughts and feelings here absolve you! You are a Hero, as all who served! Thank you mytwocents7527! I, am proud of you! God bless you sir!
Usually for a 21-gun salute in a full-military honor like this, the usual protocol is this: For a 3-person rifle squadron, there will be 7 volleys. A "volley" is when more than one person in a squadron fires each of their rifles, one shot each. The discharge explosions from the rifle may not be exact even when the "Fire" cue is announced, causing the "volley". For a 7-person rifle squadron, only 3 volleys. Think 7 X 3 or 3 X 7. These equal 21 shots. Between each volley, the usual commands of "Ready", and "Aim" are common, before the "Fire" command. Between each "fires", there is a pause of several seconds between volleys, but no more than that.
My best memories were in base honor guard. I had 2 left feet in tech school for drill team. But, the constant practice and drilling for base honor guard I learned much easier. My original diploma was damaged including the book that held the diploma 😞.
Can say I'm a fan of some the changes in movements that's happened show here over what we did almost 20 years ago. One of my least favorite things is when people have to leave their mark by changing something, which often makes things less efficient or overly complicates things.
Idk why but out of the whole thing the only thing I wanna know is why is it specifically stated he will collect the spent rounds “with gloves off”? is as simple as just not wanting to get the white gloves dirty or is there another underlying reason for it
Nice popcorn! They really not playing they just pushing a button and it plays taps . Actually pretty sad. For a full military honors we would get someone who could actually pksyb

Proud to be an Airman. U.S.A.F. 1972-1978.

What were some of the changes? Maybe we can bring some things back and make it better. There's always room for improvement.

WTF did I just watch? Sloppy as hell. God help us all if that's the best the USAF can present.
I was USAF 68-72 and this is embarrassing. The libertards have done much to degrade our military.
There will always be a hater
Its just a training video, I assume made during a dry run with a training flight.
Sloppy how? Your recommendations?
