I think maybe it’s because he lost a money … since started the Gutenberg block 😂 so he try to get the money from someone else … Wordpress used to run at least 70% of the whole world website… and now it just 43% 😂
I’m happy to be a Meta Box user. It’s also significantly smaller in plugin size, you can toggle all parts of it’s functionality On/Off, and it writes one row into the db instead of two (like ACF). The only downside you may say is it’s UI. It’s less of an eye-candy, but whatever.
Thank you for your information and keeping us updated -- it's appreciated... the folks who have taken over and created an issue with the everyday user can go to hell.
I did the same, but with JetEngine and the Crocoblock suite. I also have the ACF Pro unlimited license but stopped using it for JetEngine. ACF Pro still runs on 2 of my sites, though. Never bothered to easily convert it as it works just fine and justifies the license.

After all this, WP is done. I have invested considerable money in the WP ecosystem (Bricks, ACSS, ETCH, etc.), but I have had it with this. This is not a professional platform anymore. For stability and serious systems, WP will never be an option longer. Matt killed it!
WP is not going anywhere. It's like the same situation with php 😂 everybody saying it's dead since 2005 but but it's 20 years later and we still have more than 70% of all websites
Hi Paul, I know it’s a bit off-topic, but since you’re my Bricks and ACF guru I ask anyway. 😀 Do you know of any way on how to post to two different posts at once he same time? Or to sync 2 acf fields. 1 in a post and another one in users?
0:04 I tried to upload the file from the acf exactly as you showed, but i get the message: the uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini. What can i do please?
You can do this through php settings on the server (hosting company can do this for you), you can also set this in the wp-config file but depending on some server configurations this doesn’t always work…either way it’s a setting on the server side
You could also try it by adding a few lines to your htaccess file. I will place them in the next comment as I'm not sure if UA-cam will delete it. If they do just do a search and you will find the lines to add.
Just add this to your htaccess file php_value upload_max_filesize 64M php_value post_max_size 64M php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value max_input_time 300
I can see why ACF is worried - SCF seems very elegant and "core". It's a functionality that should have been core years ago, like Drupal. Their are many ways to create custom fields, but displaying them is more of a headache! I'm not a fan of Elementor so I hope it will be added to Gutenberg as dynamic fields soon.
Honestly I tend to grab Pods before ACF…I use both but I just prefer Pods..they both do pretty much the same thing but Pods has a few more tricks up it’s sleeve that ACF doesn’t ( example: content types, taxonomies and custom fields can be assigned their own unique database instead of being dumped into the default wp one, it also has a nice templating system to output data with “magic tags”)..and it’s been around as long as (if not longer than) ACF
it could be fine, but WPE is probably going to be more predictable, Automattic is behaving unpredictably at the moment at is experiencing a lot of staff turnover. It has been bonkers.
SCF is a forceful takeover by Wordpress. From what I understand, the ACF Devs were shut out from accessing Wordpress and updating their Plugin there. All so that the Wordpress guy could claim the project as "abandoned" and take over that huge Userbase. There is nothing wrong with Updating SCF from a technical side. All it does, is to show a megalomaniac CEO that twisting guidelines and tricking users is A OK, if it gets you what you want.
WP has already shown their upcoming core CF/CPT feature. So, most likely, their interest is not to support this plugin, but to "kill" this third-party solution ASAP. That's what can go wrong with SCF. But you can keep it and keep us updated how it works :)
Just follow the steps outlined in the video and it will revert to the WPE version/ACF and will continue to update the correct version from that point on.
Let's be honest acf is basically ui wrapper for custom fields in WP. So call it stolen probably incorrect. And from what i heard acf was bought with wp engine from another company.
Wrong. They took over the repo for ACF, added minimal changes to rename it to Secure(Stolen) Custom Fields, and locked the authors of ACF from it. I mean it's still at the /advanced-custom-fields/ slug. So, Matt stole it, plain and simple.
