Hi friend! Today I found your channel. Will you make more videos about Augmented Reality? I'm interested in developing apps and maybe a simulators of AR. Great channel!
Does it work without a connection to the internet? Perhaps it is transmitting the data to some server somewhere and reformatting it for the app, thus the need for an account.
Excellent idea - and that would explain why I haven't made much sense of the data yet - but no, it works just fine even when Wi-Fi and mobile data are turned off..
The cube itself works without any internet connection but the app requires to obtain access to the cube from Mi Home. The cube state is available via BLE but it is encrypted. There is a video showing it is possible to obtain the state via BLE: ua-cam.com/video/teZ_Rni8GZE/v-deo.html
@@vzdenek It doesn't damage the cube - that's how it's designed (and is the same as in a regular Rubik's Cube too). If you twist the corner piece you should be able to get it to pop off without applying too much force.
I did 600 thousand moves across 4 months and battery says it is on 90% ...stickers are in an awful state and the whole cube has gone through some necessary maintenance like cleaning and lubing, but battery is the only thing that seems not a problem in mine
The headphone rechargers go with the old style Giiker cube - this one is powered by a coin battery (which, apparently, lasts one year before needing replacement).
I love your content. Thank you for producing great stuff so consistently. It is quite inspiring and makes me want to learn a lot more.
I love your brain, please keep these great videos going :)
Fascinating...
I'd love to see Big Clive do a teardown on this.
Can you please make a new tutorial about augmented reality apps but this time with 3d models and how to import them?
This is amazing
I wish the app eventually get more algorithms other than the top middle bottom, like f2l or others but for now it just that

Where did you buy so cheap? I can't find one under £18.

I'd love to know the results of your investigations into readng the bluetooth data directly.
The data are scrambled but nothing that can't be beat.
Anyone knows how to get the cube app work on Android 14?
Does this work with an iphone?
I'm trying to connect with my iphone and I can't. do you know which application i can use?
Yeah, I've also not found a way to connect through iOS. The app isn't in the US or EU app store, it seems.
@@tomchaps1 dont think it works with the iphone either
Hi mate,
I have the same cube but the battery has run out.
Do you know how to replace it?
Thanks
Yes, if you pop off one of the pieces on the top of the cube (the white side), you'll be able to access the little coin cell holder underneath.
@@PlayfulTechnology Do you please know how to do that without damaging the cube?

How long can it be used before changing battery? :)
My workmate have it on the desk next to me. I like the charger looking like Princess Leia headphones ;-)
