    Really handy information in this video. Right now, I'm nowhere near this kind of set-up.
    But if and when I get there, I have something to work around! 🙂

    Love the trolley and van setup. I have hd25-1ii but I definitely feel the hmd 26 headphones are the future. Great setup, Light and fast adjusting is the way forward for sure.

      Thanks James :) I love the HD 26 headphones, mostly due to the comfort over the day and their reliability. But I do miss the punchy mid and deeper bass response I got from the HD 25s. The exact model im using is called "HME-26-II-100"

      @@URSAStraps thanks Simon. I'll have a look into those headphones. Do these 26 turn the mic off when the mic gets pushed up or are they constantly on?
      Love that tent too with the wire window and how you've used I think is the 302 at the back of your cart.

      @@FamousJames The HD26 headphones my crew use are muted when flicked up but activated when flicked down. My headphones are always on but you only hear the mic when press my "COM1" button and open the mic input to be sent to my team

    I like it. I agree regarding the cart. It is personal preference. Big up on ACN network. I think it's the best TC system available. Most stable. I just wish master lockit would later as long as Nano lockit.
    I do love your pop-up tent. I need to get one too one day

    Thanks for this Simon. On a very hot rainy day, is the humidity in the tent a problem for the gear?

    If you really wanted to live on the edge you could make a tent out of a huge ground plane antenna 😂

    This is probably a stupid question, but what do you do if your boom op or sound assist go out of range of the Sennheiser transmitter, either by distance or thick walls? Have you a method of extending them out?

    • @URSAStraps
      @URSAStraps  4 роки тому +2

      Thats actually a brilliant question. Yes I do often have to extend out the boom op & sound assistant receivers closer to set. But most of the time the range is fine. I'm a bit cheeky and we use 100 milliwatt output from the boom ops transmitters so their flipdown mic range is pretty good.

      @@URSAStraps That's interesting! I was on a job before lockdown as a sound assist and we were shooting for days in this big old house with many rooms, long hallways and thick walls. I was constantly needing to run out XLRs to extend the range for the boom op and for the director. It made me wonder if there is a neater method of doing it. So thank you for your reply. Loving these videos!

    • @URSAStraps
      @URSAStraps  4 роки тому

      @@stephenmolloy4244 to do it properly id get a receiver rack with BNC RF inputs - then run aerials for them to the top of my aerial stand with my aerials for my regular radio mics. This would get me way better range than using the stubby aerials on the RX units or even running them out on XLRs. But Ive just not done this as Im super lazy.

  • @dautucas

    I can only imagine how much you charge for one shooting day with that LARGE kit 😁

    So...do you just steal sound blankets / furniture pads from Grip & Electric all day? 😏
