1. Use a bucket of hot water to heat the can. 2. Hold the can upside down and spray when done using it to clear the nozzle. 3. Pull the cap and soak in in thinner. See if that helps. Most likely they are putting the cans that you or someone else has returned back on the shelf. Put a small x on the bottom of the can so you can be sure you're getting a different can.
After using it for the first time you should hold it upside down and spray for a second or two until it runs clear so the line does not clog. You should do that with all spray paint.
Thank you! You just saved us a lot of hassle. We will have to return 1 can, but now we know better! No more fussing with the nozzle and we moved on to Krylon glitter.
Thank you for making this video!! I could not understand what happened to the Rust Oleum glitter spray paint I was using. I've been trying everything under the sun to get the paint to work and nothing.
This helped me with the first use but on second try I just made a huge mess and even changed tips on can ...I just got frustrated and it was making mess on my project. But thank you for help friend
I might be telling you something you already know.. But hopefully you're turning the can upside down after you use it? and spraying until all paint stops flowing and only air pushes, then stop.. Store the can that way, otherwise any paint that has any sort of texture is going to jam up the nozzle/tip and feeder.. Hopefully this helps. Craft on!
I actually did not know that ...thank you. My biggest concern was that some of the cans I purchased wouldn't work the first time. But if I brave enough to buy any more I will most definitely do that. I will also incorporate that with the glitter I have from Krylon. Thank you so much
Rustoleum customer service was fantastic. I called when the spray did not work and they immediately agreed to send me a full refund even tho i did not have the reciept. Will by krylon next time maybe. But really good customer service on Rust-O’s part!!
Yesssss! Im dealing with the gold now right in the middle of project. I will be making a call to Rustoleum Monday. Im not sure if it the type of sprayer. Yes money and time is being spent running back and forth to return. Thsnks for your video. Im doaking the nozzle in mineral spirit as of this comment😟
Yes ...it's frustrating when you are in the middle or end and you have to go through all that!! Truly my whole point of review. I think it's both pressure in can and nozzle myself. Good luck and be blessed!
I've never had any luck with Rustoleum's spray primers, either. Tried the upside down clean out method, and soaking the nozzle. Always something deep inside the can that clogs it. Krylon paints rock!
This might be an old video but the nozzles are very much clogged on all your cans. You have to clear them after use by holding it upside down, which will shoot just air out and free it of glitter. You also should be wiping the nozzle front off after practically every pass to insure smooth operation. You should also shake these after after every pass. These are just the limitations of using a flake inside a rattle can
I also keep my cans inside now and I love the south but it can make it little easier to clog. I also incorporate shellac or epoxy and mix in glitter pigments. Take care Sir and thanks again
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have been making a large order for earrings and am to the painting stage and didn't know which spray paint to go with. But does the Krylon have full coverage or do you need to paint it with another paint before the glitter? I am wanting to paint wooden earrings with the gold glitter krylong.
The reason it didn't probably work the second time is after you use it the first time when you're done you have to tell the can upside down and sprayed until nothing comes out cuz if not the glitter will dry in the tip and it will no longer work I'll make sure to tip it upside down and spray clean air out
I just went back today to return two cans of rose gold Rust-Oleum I got the same outcome then when I went to find another one And test them out before I buy nd they still didn't work 🙄
UPDATE 4/8/2021...thank you for all comments if I haven't replied...I tried everything anyone suggested but just didn't get it to work...HOWEVER I did learn cool ways to get my effects without can spray lol
@@orleandorsey8307 As an alternative I used a spray adhesive and sprinkled glitter very thin onto it. It lasted through the Christmas and is still fine nearly 6 months later. I also just used the spray glitter that worked.
The rustoleum is just glitter with little to no pigmentation. In order to get a good even coat from spray paint with particulates, you have to shake it for a few minutes. To get the result on the lid, you have to do 3-5 coats and somewhat know how to paint.
Painting is in my blood Mr Chavez... Pigments are my gifts...I have been doing nail art since I was 13...it's the agony of not being able to use it again after the first or 0 uses ...that is pulling out every trick of unclogging. Perhaps you misunderstood the honest review. It is likely that line had a defect. Happy New Year

I had actually tried that and trust me... didn't work in this case. But thank you so much
I agree lol
Have you tried (after using) turning it upside down and spraying until only clear gas comes out ...?
Doin the Lord's work. I was, as in "not no more" on the fence about which one to buy. Kudos and hopefully Rustoleum sees this.
Thank you and God bless
Thank you for your video - I had been wondering the quality was between the two and I now I know what not to waste my money on
Well I found it out by accident but I am hoping that surely others have experienced it and they will work on... Be blessed

Thank God! I thought I was the only one with this issue.
I hope this gets fixed ...my word
Thank you! You just saved us a lot of hassle. We will have to return 1 can, but now we know better! No more fussing with the nozzle and we moved on to Krylon glitter.
Krylon's Diamond Dust works great. Have used 3 cans, not one issue.
I've used the silver glitter by krylon and never had a problem with it
I know it's awesome ... !!
Same thing happened to me with the Rustoleum . Spent $9 at walmart!
ty for taking the time and sharing!
Thank you for making this video!! I could not understand what happened to the Rust Oleum glitter spray paint I was using. I've been trying everything under the sun to get the paint to work and nothing.
It's a nightmare sometimes 🤣
I put the nozzles in a small cup of acetone for a few minutes swirl it around and it works fine.
pull the tips out,use a sewing needle to poke the tips clear and rins then dry. helped me when this happen to me with a new spray can
This helped me with the first use but on second try I just made a huge mess and even changed tips on can ...I just got frustrated and it was making mess on my project. But thank you for help friend
@@Melissa-du6bu sucks! My project worked thanks tot Agg fox but j can see how easily these can mess up
...The most useful crafting video ever.

The Krylon looks to be closer to a pearl than a glitter. Much smaller particle size. Looks like Rust-Oleum needs to rework their nozzles.
I agree

So true can’t spray after a couple sprays! I’m doing a glitter wall

I thank you and definitely am doing that but I just couldn't do anything for the glitter situation 😉

Heat paint first, warm water. When done turn can upside down and spray. It will unclog and free up the nozzle.
Thank you that explains why my stupid glitter can from rust-oleum doesn’t work
Did you at any point put the cans in warm water for 5-10 minutes to help with it ..
I didn't but will remember this 👌
You try using the krypton spray tip on the rustoleum?
Now that's am idea lol ! I finally tried every thing in the world and just gave up and trashed them..God bless
After use turn it upside down and then spray til it comes out clear
They need to remake the glitter nozzle’s. I am going through this with Rustoleums glitter gold and in Canada it costs $17.50 for a can!!!
They do need to....wow 17.50 jeepers

You should have just switched out the caps on the rustolium cans i bet they will work better with the krylon caps
I have the same problem with my rustoleum glitter sprays. Use them once and they’re jammed and no longer working
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 just saved me money!
Thx.
Thk u for sharing!!!

$7-8 a can, I have this issue with them but we pay $23 a can where I live!
New SUBBIE here! 🥰 Thank you for this review definitely saves me some money. Probably will just purchase a can of Glitter paint
Yes I now just miss some glitter in a polycrylic or just spray on some shellac and sprinkle away lol
Having same issues!
YES! that spray messed up my project..

I use to hug birds when bored
Who uses a spray can more then once im normally using muti can on a project
Love it and I should develop that habit 🙄
Fuxk I ruined a locker I was needing for Monday I am orienting my own mini salon and now I don’t know what to do , not Only that it took 3 cans too
Bless you

This has been happening to me... Mine are all new and clogging like crazy i called them they sent me 2 cans
I learned the hard way🤦🏽♀️
Te escribo desde Perú , compre esa lata con 14 dólares y , tengo exactamente el mismo problema que tú con el gliter rojo, una decepción :(
Just needed to switch your caps out and the rustoleum would have worked again
The cap got clogged
Wasted my time. Thanks.
Am I the only one that tries them in the store 😭😭
Glitter blast 900 dollars a can
Yea shocking. I love that they have glitter but jee
9 dollars a can
U just need new caps
This lady doesn’t know what she’s talking about I write graffiti and my rusto also got clogged because the paint got stuck in the nozzle
This is true. Very bad product. Regular paints are very good but this product in particular is a pain in the neck.....👎👎
Why are you spraypainting around your dogs wtf? Have you ever heard of fumes??
I rented all mine same issue
