Project 2025, unfortunately we tested this in Australia. It cost us billions and caused horrific delays looking after our veterans. Our last conservative government replaced knowledgeable public servants with politically appointed consultants, causing years of delay. Thank god this has now been reversed and the services to veterans have significantly improved. Delays are down from years to weeks. A failed experiment.

Project 2025, unfortunately we tested this in Australia. It cost us billions and caused horrific delays looking after our veterans. Our last conservative government replaced knowledgeable public servants with politically appointed consultants, causing years of delay. Thank god this has now been reversed and the services to veterans have significantly improved. Delays are down from years to weeks. A failed experiment.

That's good information. A nation's civil service is the backbone of its functioning government. If that service is independent of partisanship, things go much smoother as politicians and servants keep each other in check. A partisan civil service however must serve only it's master, inevitably leading to another example of absolute power corrupting absolutely.
I would add from a cautionary perspective that P25 is really representing a call for the end of voting in (can you believe it???) the USA! Trump said as much when he repeatedly uttered the fact that people would never have to vote again if he were to get re-elected. "We'll have it all fixed" was a phrase he used. The "we" is clearly his P25 people who he is in complete accord with. People need to understand that P25 is really a fascist manifesto blueprint for a new order type dictatorship government. So good! I have been taking people to the polls for decades. What I have learned is to think of people in 2 categories ( I know, lame) there are walk the talkers and there are unambitious talkers. It’s easy to think of what their challenges may be ( kids, no transportation, too many jobs no time, disability, addictions…) those are the people you lovingly make the time for. It’s easy to say take folks to the polls but when you describe the category of folks who don’t vote it enables the movers to identify.
