- Short relaxing sunday morning video ;-)
Orkel’s agricultural compactors transform bulk material such as maize and grass into easy-to-handle round bales, using nothing but plastic wrap. Some materials can be reduced in volume by up to three times thus producing a compact and consistent unit package.
This in turn leads to several major advantages;
• improved internal logistics,
• clean and simplified storage,
• long distance transport made easy,
A waterproof plastic wrap is applied to keep the bale sealed and intact, preventing spillage and damage caused by moisture
The round bales have a fixed width of 85 cm. and the diameter can vary from 85 till 90 cm. This size of bale is very suitable for horse owners or small farmers The bale weight f.i. in maize will vary from 350 till 500 kg. depending on the dry matter

always makes me feel better when nothing is wasted
nice video I like how you have shown all angles so a person can understand how it works
jetegtmeier71 .
European farms are very well run, they make the most out of a small area because land is valuable. You could store these bales in stacks pretty much anywhere there is room and the weather wouldn't bother them a bit. Silos and bulk storage take up room that could be used for crops. Most likely these bales will be fed over winter and be gone by the spring.
dimduk you cannot stack maize bales on top of each other. Maybe it's different in Europe but in New Zealand they have no strength and be marshmallows by the next morning. Still a great idea
Now that's a new one on me......really neat way of storing silage.

Always good video.

Zo als altijd weer een mooi filmpje !
+Agri wes Dankje Wessel!
There seems to be a lot of double-handling. Setting up the bailer so the tipper can unload straight into it would eliminate the loading step, not to mention waste or contamination. Lining up the bailer so the output aligns to the stack would mean that you could roll the bails to the correct location, rather than pick them up and reverse out, turn and unload.
yes i guess eventually they will add a bigger. feeder conveyer so you can dump whole trailer loads in... but this is quite a new invention...
+ a bigger feeder conveyer adds cost. and not all small farms can afford that.
The difficulty is that the blare is slower than the forager that's cutting the crop so there'd be a queue of trailers & a fed up driver in the forager.
When you get ready to feed the bales it would be nice to have a video showing the breakdown of the bales and how they are actually fed to your animals. Thanks.
+jbmbanter Thanks for your suggestion! I will contact the farmer and ask if he is okay with that ;-)
If you are the person who makes the videos I must say that they are fantastic. When you have a story line you show all aspects of the topic and cover them very well. Thanks!
+jbmbanter Thanks for your nice words and I'm glad you enjoy my video's. Comments like this will make that me try to improve my videos every day.
Where is the Tractorspotter farm? I know it is 'across the pond' from me since I live in Augusta, Georgia, USA.

How much the price of this MR 2000 Compactor machine for bailing & wrapping maize silage ? Very useful 💕
very calming
Nice Video ;) Why do they make silage bals and not in a silage silos?
+Agrarprofi - Agriculture
+Agrarprofi - Agriculture
Ja, kein Problem :D
+ Agricultural pro - Agriculture You weren't the only one who thought about putting this silage in a silo. I too thought a silo would be the place to store it until it is fed to livestock. I was thinking that an in ground dugout silo would be the place. Storing for sale as stated below makes sense now. If they had more than they could use then it could be a good influx of cash by selling it to others.

So much plastic waste and yet, I am not allowed to use plastic straws anymore...
It's in Pakistan or in India
Subhan Ahmad available in India now
I don't understand these balemasters thingy. My picture is.
1) You have a silo at the farm. You use forage wagons to pickup, then dump at the silo. Compact with tractors. Throw plastic cover over. And tyres as weights. And ferment silage.
2) You don't have a silo at the farm because you are runing smaller scale operation. You then make wrapped bales out in the field.
But why run a large scale operation with several people and use a pickup in the field then transport to the farm and start baling there!!?!?? The only thing I can think of is that they sell the bales to other farmers.
Also the content that when into the bales looked like shreded corn. Someone please explain what kinda operation they were running here!!!
I hate seeing all that plastic beeing used I want to protect the environment!!!
+MajSolo Generally maize silage would be clamped and sheeted like you've described but these bales will most likely be sold.
It's very common to cut, bale and wrap grass silage in the field but there is no way you could run a machine like that in the field without a lot of waste. The fact the bales are made back at the farm is possibly quicker. If nothing else you aren't handling the bales several times!
Hope that makes more sense.
+MajSolo 3) The other solution is that this is a company that visits farmers and harvest and fill the farmers yard with wrapped bales.
Then they move on to the next farmer.
+MajSolo In any case can someone explain why they do what they do???
+MajSolo An interesting article here describing contract baling and some details: www.dow.com/silage/testimonials/fischer.htm
Glenn Langford Thanx.
this business usefull or only for own dairy farm
what is price of this bealer????
Why not just use a silage baler with wrapper instead of investing in this machine and the forage harvester?? Not to mention the trailers needed and the hours and wear put on the tractors.
This is whole cropped maize it's can't just be beaked off the field like silage

So this will ferment and turn into silage?
yes as long as the plastic is whole, and it dont get oxygen inside... if oksygen get inside, the silage turn to dirt,, fast as if it is a compost bin.

+Tractorspotter nope!

I'm not a crazy tree hugger, but THREE machines working - front loader, PTO tractor and bail loader - just to get it all shrink-wrapped doesn't look too environmentally friendly. Not to talk about the amount of plastic film used. Is this really necessary?
apparently yes, do you think the farmer would pay for fuel that is not used?
Most likely this maze is being made to be sold by the bale.
