A video 5 years old yet the quality is brilliant thanks for the video
The card board trick is genius someone hand this guy his MBE 👍🏻
I know its "by the book" but I just unhooked the chain from the rear sprocket and pulled the rear wheel out, saved lots of time, I had a puncture and had never removed it before :)
Great video, I used your specifications to change my k7 750 chain this weekend and it worked a treat 👍🏻 thanks, Pete
Peter Black . Fantastic, glad it was useful!
bout to do this to my k7 750 too
Loved every second of this vid much appreciated bro🦾
Nice vid mate, always like a bit of maintenance being shown and explained clearly. nice idea with the card bolt reminder (i'll borrow that).
Thanks man! You have helped another biker! Peace
She’s a pretty one! Great stuff, keep up the great work. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing a very nice job and description.
NICE job.... thanks....
What does having a buddy on the rear brake do? Ive mistakenly cut the chain and removed the rear wheel prior to undoing any of the front sprocket and now that first allen key'd bolt in the front sprocket is just so damn tight and I cant get it loose! any advice?
What chain is this? as my 600 k2 im getting anywhere between 19-20mm width? but im measuring outside of the plates, not sure why you measure the pins at the will be shorter onces mushroomed?
Gotta say thx man, just did this on my bike. Nice video.
this vid really helped me out. nice idea with the diagram btw. greetings from germany
Cant wait to change my chain and sprocket Next week💯what grease should i use when i put the master link in?
Right side spacer has a lip, and left side doesn't, so be difficult to get them mixed up.
Awesome video I'm going to change my chain and sproket on my 09 gsxr 750 keeping stock gearing also.
Hi, not really spent a lot of time ripping and stripping my K6 600 down yet, but had a low speed off in the wet and want to remove rear swing arm to repaint it and fit a new hugger as the bolts have snapped off in the Ali so need drilling / warming up to get out, do I need to split the chain in order to remove the swing arm so that I have the arm on its own ready for bath in paint stripper ? I have got the Castle socket and large Allen key to do the deed but not yet started, (currently researching) also what do you recommend to hold rear end of bike up as swing arm will be gone ? I'm thinking if building 2 wooden A frames from 2 x 4 and fit another bit of 4 x 4 along top full width of garage so I can work around the bike in the middle and simply rope around rear foot pegs and lift it a few inches, front I have a paddock stand so should be ok, good video nice to see a proper job. Used to working on cars where getting it off the ground is a bit easier cheers
nice video..... clean and easy to understand
What an awesome video! Congratulations! Very nice indeed!
- When you change sprocket to you have to mess with the gearing or it’s ready to ride.?
Great video brother!! Keep up the great work...
After putting the sprocket cover back on my clutch had 0 play. Any idea how I could fix this?
Hi where can I get the correct tool to connect the chain I have gsxr 600 08 and need that tension tool ?! I don’t trust other tools I see in eBay and Amazon and also the kit ?
Thank you for the video!
Cracking Video mate keep them coming
How is that chain 30mm? that's barely 10, very tight, loosen the chain a bit
Looks simple enough
Hvala ti dobar video
Informative Video. keep sharing
May never get an answer but should you grease before putting new front sprocket on?
i love your videos for the 06 gsxr 600! helped out alot! i dont know about the spark plugs though, i think the screws for the airbox that connect to the throttle body isn't philips but are hex. are the bolts different? im from canada. i'll have a look at them another time
How fare is that clutch cable bolt supposed to be
What type of lube and what Loctite
Should lube axle before u reinstall
Could you help me out. I changed oil filter and plugs on my Gsxr K6 1000cc, I realised just after I started I might of put bit small bit too much oil maybe 1 extra quart. Drained this out but the bike isn't idling now sinc the service, and it's really smokey. All lights on no codes. Any idea what is wrong, is the oil gone too far in the engine, I did replace iridium spark plugs for normal plugs. Can anyone help me out??
averroesdesign you where on the money It was fouled plugs , also oil in the breather just too much oil caused it. There is different measurements I put it 3 and litres , it was too much so drained it out and put in 2 and half litres cleaned the plugs with WD40 and small bit down the head it didn't start first but next day it came back to life lots smoke then it was fine, cheers for reply back Pal..
averroesdesign I know was going to a shop I gave it one more shot happy days, great vid🖑🖑
Sweet work !
Don't use WD 40 I did it wrecked the seals on the chain just a little warning.
do i have to open the chain , if i just wanna change the front sprocket and rear sprockets?
No. you dont
nice video. cheers mate
nice protection pads, do you have a link to buy them too :)
great video good job :D
You forgot to mention the small sprocket socket.. its s 32mm by the way yall. Ran 3 times to the store to get it 😂
how meany links did you'd up using ?
Is that 32mm socket with 3/4" drive to break that nut lose? Where did you buy the socket?
Lol I’m a bit late but the ones i used i just got at autozone, mines an 09 750
Rear axle nut torque spec please??
is that company you got that chain from pretty reliable i use vortex good job btw.
I pulled off the housing case, and realized I dont have a socket to pull the front sprocket nut off.
What size it is? i have to go buy one.
Academy Ninja 32mm
Thanks. I subbed.
Thanks
Good job thanks for great video helped in install!!
is it the same for k9?
Good job 👍 I
Not gonna flare the chain pins?!?!?
what tire size are u using??
Great vid very informative.
Subscribed. nice and hd quality explained :)
You put the grease on the wrong part of the master link :0
Axl is 32mm ou 34mm
That chain looked WAY to tight.
Yes it definitely is
Chain should be adjusted while off the paddock stand
Jon Jon agreed with the rider on the bike.
nice jop
You gave your chain slack not tension.
DØPÊ new chains stretch
damn talk about by the book, so much u can skip to do this . I'm a motorcycle mechanic and time is money but nice video
+Grim e . Haha you have to do it by the book when posting on UA-cam. Otherwise you can guarantee someone will pull your work apart or point out everything you miss. It's just the nature of the game :)
The only thing with this video that is just downright wrong is the Cush Drive Bushings.
if you can remove the sprocket and bearing carrier off of the wheel easily like that then your cush drive bushings are WORN.
dont be like me and ride with worn cush drive bushings, you will need a new brake rotor and rear brake stay over time.
and it will also MURDER your wheel bearings.
Also no need for any loctite on the sprocket nut. its Conical in shape and also has a "nylock" built into it. thats why it was difficult to remove even after it was "broke loose"
Also that chain tension looks way too tight.
you should have a 30mm or 1.1" travel.
the best rule of thumb without a doubt to check chain tension without even measuring is push on the bottom of the chain.
it should JUST BARELY touch the plastic chain guide on the bottom of the swing arm.
and similarly it should JUST BARELY touch the plastic guide on the top of the swing arm aswell.
and finally. you should put the bike in gear roll the wheel backwards to take all of the slack out of the top of the chain before adjusting.
otherwise your bottom tension will be good. on first ride you will check tension again and itll be tight on the bottom and loose on the top.
