What is better, PANNING high grade or HIGH BANKING low grade?

  • Obviously grades vary and results will vary, But for this day at my Fraser Bedrock claim, Reg will be panning the highest grade deposit on site, and I will be high banking lower grade material, that has enough volume to high bank which will do better? I was surprised with the results.

Hi Dan, I would like to thank you for making these videos. I am disabled enough that I have to remain on a bed 24/7. Your videos actually get me out seeing parts of the world I can no longer travel to. I'm in the UK and have never seen Canada. Your country is both spectacular and beautiful.

    Howdy Dan,
I heard you ran out of gas, twice!
I may have a solution for a variety of things for you. Eliminate the gas powered pump and go electric. You have Milwaukee tools already, perhaps finding one or two bilge pumps that produce a high volume would work?
Solve the issue of running out of gas,
Solve the issue of weight from the gas powered pump, and the gasoline. Also save $$$
Plus you can bring as many batteries as you need in trade for 1/4 of the weight of the pump alone.
    Great video!

Hey Dan, does gold ever make its way under the gold hog matting? Your test pan contained only what was inside the matting, but as you drug it out there was a lot of material left behind that had me wondering if it's worth sampling separately.

hmm, ten or so min to vid. i agree with hellcat, low grade should win hands down, even if its got 10% the gold of high grade. moving 20-30 pan fulls for a time block vs a single pan of the good stuff will yield better overall/ >.> tho slucing high grade is the best of all

Sitting in bed after a day setting seed and baby plants, setting up veggie beds & pots. I’m drinking hoc choc and watching Dan in Canada, sitting in NZ. Isn’t the internet wonderful? I adore watching Dan on his claims. He and his family & friends work so hard. It’s great to watch and learn as Dan tells you about geology as he goes. I find myself hoping that they find the mother lode and I get to watch it. I’m not sure I would have the patience he has, but it’s an occupation that keeps you fit! I hope he keeps the good gemstones for his wife.. if she wants them. Great video😊😊😊
P.S. the more videos I watch, the more I think Dan looks like an archetypal Viking. I would love Dan to plait his gorgeous beard and weave gold trinkets into it made from gold and garnets he has mined. Or is that just me? I think it’s a look he should try, he’s outgoing enough to carry it! ❤

The choice between panning high-grade material or high banking low-grade material depends on your goals and the resources available. Panning high-grade material can yield immediate results in terms of finding valuable minerals, but it may require more effort to gather sufficient quantities. High banking low-grade material may require less effort upfront but might not yield as high-quality results. Consider your objectives and available equipment to make the best choice for your situation.

Hey Dan, have you ever noticed the correlation between gold and serpentine in your area? I guess in Jason's neck of the wood in Washington it's a known indicator of gold and I guess it was that way on the Bear River here in California too. Wow! There's only 4 species of lizards in BC? I guess welcome to a cold environment. The pygmy short-horned lizard is stupidly cute.. I'd love to have a Common Wall Lizard though, those are pretty. They definitely look related to the alligator lizards.

You have said it's (or close to) low water in the river. Some seasons you could go out in the river bottom at low water. This year? Is there good gold "under water" or is that not part of your claim?
Also.... what brand and model is your "little gas pump"? How many feet of hose are you pumping into? Vertical lift?

i would like to see if using a Hydraulic Ram Pump would work for pumping water for your high banker, only works in running water but uses no gas or electrical. you can make them your self with parts from the home center. They also have industrial ones used for irrigation for farming.

    • @Debbiebabe69
      @Debbiebabe69 11 місяців тому +1

You need head to run a ram pump.... also you would need a LOT of head to get the pressure to run a highbanker.... you probably would need to run big bore pipe several hundred yards along the river to get enough head. 2-3 Trucks full of reels of pipe is a lot harder to lug around than a can of diesel....
A diesel pump can run from a single location with zero head.
