We had these with the green wire - I loved them! I have a set of London lights (which I love) but I’ll need to try to find a set of plain old lantern lights for the nostalgia
We had the cinderella coach & lantern set. It's one of the earliest Christmas memories I have. We used to place our nativity set under the tree & would ensure that one of the lanterns hung down above the figurines. Obviously not factually correct in terms of the lighting that would have been available in a stable 2000 years ago - but it was an important finishing touch. Oh the nostalgia. Christmas 2023 I started searching online to see if the sets were still available and was blown away at how many sets I could see for sale, buy refuse to pay the price - I will find one in a thrift shop or similar and give it a new home one day 😊
That sounds like a great display! 😊
Absolutely, keep hunting for a bargain, we ended up buying 3 sets about 8 years ago. They were between £70 and £80 per set.
We made up one perfect set out of all 3, then rebuilt, restored and sold the other two sets and ended up getting the set we kept for free, plus a bit of profit.
Would love to see a video with all the different makers lights.
Will do an archive deep dive! 👍
Pifco did TWO versions of lanterns . I had a late 80’s Cinderella set in the plastic box - thin wire and screw bulbs - just before they changed to push in . They had solid lanterns with large vent holes . Noma always had three notches and were not compatible
I did notice the later ones having wider bulb holes than the earlier ones. 👍
Shame the white lanterns were so poorly made they would look nice on a white tree
We will do a video on the ones we have eventually.🫡
