the problem with that theory that Archer came from Fate route is that Nasu himself said that the probability of Shirou turning into Archer in all 3 available routes is close to ZERO... this is evidenced in Fate route when Archer had the chance of killing Shirou while training in the shed but Archer talked with Shirou about his ideals in saving people and Shirou answered that he knows he could not save everyone and he will only save those in front of him he could save, thereby dissuading Archer.
It doesn't have a rank, its not a noble phantasm, its a reality marble that Emiya created. Technically Emiya isn't even a real hero, its stated that he is an anti-existance to normal heroes.
Well, some rumours in the net say that it was first the Fate route where Archer just wants to kill Shirou, then the UBW where he tests his beliefs and finally Heaven's Feel where he decided to help Shirou by giving him his left arm with the circuits thus enabling him to use Nine Lives Blade Works. Or so they say in the net
I believe you read one of the many fan theories. If I'm not mistaken Archer was created when Shirou Emiya followed his "ideal" of being a hero literal. While trying to save everyone Archer learned to save one, you have to kill ten, to save ten, a hundred, and so on and so for. He was never praised for his work and was even blamed for some wars. So in the end Archer learned that his "ideal" was a waste of time in a sense and made the pact with Gaia to become an Counter guardian.
Well, it's technically a Noble Phantasm, but not a weapon like Excalibur. A Noble Phantasm is something that identifies a hero; like a signature move. It's usually contained in the form of a weapon, but not always, as is the case of Emiya and Gilgamesh. A Broken Phantasm is a single use weapon that acts much like a disposable Noble Phantasm.
IIRC, Archer apparently was the result of something of a "Ilya" route, where he learns of Ilya's identity but then can't do anything to stop her from dying, but then again, it might have just been another wild fan theory.
He was a product of the first route, except 5 years after saber left illya died, even though he knew her real identity, he couldn't bare it and threw himself into becoming a hero, except he became an anti hero
That's backwards. To save ten, kill one. To save a hundred, kill ten. And, actually, Archer was created on an unknown path where Shirou followed his "ideal" but at the same time it was heavily implied to be a post-apocalyptic world by the time of his death/contract with Gaia. In addition, in Archer's world Rin's servant wasn't Counter Guardian EMIYA but something/one else.
i think there is still possibility that Rin's servant in Archer's world actually may be Heroic Spirit EMIYA (but i think not Nameless so to speak) or Counter Guardian EMIYA, in timeline similar to Fate-route (but differs in Shiro and not only him, at some point ofc). (And maybe something happaned to Ilya too early? Idk, well anyway its my hypothesis). Sinces its not controdicts lore if i not wrong.
@@lordtouchme77 But wouldn't Aias the Great be considered a Shielder? I know the Shielder class came to be way after the original F/SN, but I still find it curious. In any case, that theory does seem to be plausible.

Just imagine Unlimited Blade Works as a Broken Phantasm, removing the last limiter and unleashing the full force of this Noble Phantasm. The title fits. They took Emiya and Reinforced it with Epic, thus making Emiya - CROW'SCLAW. Then they took that and Reinforced it with even more Epic to the point it broke and became a Broken Phantasm which explodes releasing all of the Epicness, causing mass orgasms across the world
boi, I am imagining Emiya or some other legendary heroic spirit is walking into the war like a champion as the other 6 servants is waiting for him as we see "whoever this is, he/she is so strong even the other servants are aware of the threat"

Not "over-practicing circuits" since it's been stated that Shirou makes his nerves into temporary circuits and his real circuits have been neglected and become degraded.
@@1erickf50 Its not really a broken phantasm. Unlimited Lost Works generates an infinite amount of swords from the inside of the target aimed outward instead of around the target aimed at the target. @@TankHunter678 I know this is an old comment but... Wouldn't be more accurate to say that Lost Works is closer to kiritsugu's origin bullets? I thought Lost Works was made from special bullets used from emiya's ribs to enscribe his origin onto them hence the "unlimited swords"? He's not actually deploying his reality marble in the bullet if i remember correctly...
@@goaliemaniac21 Reality Marbles basically allow you to do whatever you want inside of them, as it is more or less a reality warping energy field that can create a pocket dimension. Usually Emiya uses it to create a field of swords that can be launched at enemies, due to him copying Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon. Emiya Alter's use is to shoot a bullet into the target and then have the swords generate from it going outwards, ripping the target apart from the inside. The Swords being generated outside and then impaled, or inside and breaking outward is not so different in application. Emiya Alter does it because he is all about efficiency. Ensuring the target that he is after dies rather then clearing groups of enemies.
Uh, well. I'm not really sure if a Reality Marble counts as a Noble Phantasm ya'know. Since from what I know it was because Archer and Shirou's origin and element is the Sword and after going through the Fuyuki fire their mindscape/mentality became distorted which led him to try and save as much people without much care of himself. Archer is a result of the FATE route where he goes through life training himself to save more and more which led to him being able to manifest UBW. That's my theory
Most heroes worth anything have solved their problems with quite a bit of wit -_- Heracles or Herakles was a possible Archer because his NP Nine Lives was done originally with a bow
Impossible. It has a rank as a Noble Phantasm, but it's a magecraft. There's no physical construct for him to overload with mana to make explode. He'd be self detonating in that case.
evilnekowantznobs It's not official, I'm just being pessimistic. Having another piece of Shirou's adventures after Fate/Hollow Ataraxia sounds way too good to be true. Not to mention I meant say "Fate/Stay night sequel". We can still hope for more stuff like /Apocrypha or /Extra
Hitagi Senjougahara It didn't seem that appealing to me, probably because I think that Fate/=Emiya Shirou. What I hope for is Ilya's unpublished route from Fate/Stay Night.
Something Ive always wondered: how does Shirou has all many blades in Unlimited Blade Works? Does he share it with Archer or do they have thier own UBW?
@@badbeardbill9956 Nevermind, I think I got the answer since then. Long story short: Shirou has *his own* UBW filled with weapons because Archer exists, so either by the very fact of two Shirous existing and/or because he sees Archer´s UBW his dreams like you say, Shirou´s Reality Marble copies them subconsciously or not.
That's only assuming Unlimited blade works ONLY makes that world, However, UBW is not limited to creating a reality marble with infinite swords. Both archer and shirou's projection is really just pulling a sword from this world, thus making making UBW not limited to a counter guardian, since Shirou and Archer have been using UBW all the time.
I don't think he meant the Reality Marble would be broken, I think he meant that all of the Noble Phantasms within Unlimited Blade Works would be Broken Phantasms
If I'm not mistaken, Archer experienced none of the world lines. He lost Saber in the Holy Grail War and didn't have both Saber and Tohsaka's good influence over him.
I didn't say he had it in him, I just said what I got from the comment compared to what you got. It's far more Feasible that he turns the NPs into BPs since that is what he does with a lot of his projectiles.
Archer posses UBW beacause his origin is the sword, it has nothing to do with him being a counter-guardian. Shirou is able to use UBW as well after some "help" from Rin and the last time I checked Shirou is not a counter guardian. Also saying that UBW is not a Noble phantasm is like saying that fate zero Riders Ionioi Hetairoi is not a Noble Phantasm
It depends on who you hear this from. There are many people who like UBW more than HF, and a bunch of regretful people (like me) who root for unpublished Ilya route.
IMO the second arc (Unlimited Blade Works) is much better, I like Tohsaka Rin much better as a heroine. Then again, I tend to have a soft spot for tsunderes. The UBW movie didn't really do it any justice at all, it should have been at least a trilogy on its own.
Nasuvers is made to resemble a game, therefore powers are balanced. Even OP Enuma Elish falls into rules of stronger Noble Phantasms. Thus it takes time to activate it and launch an attack. Archer have developed a certain-kill technique (Sparks Liner High) that requies only time for constructing one mental image of Kanshou and Byakuya and then moves are as fast as in regular combat, ie practically no delay between strikes. The only question is whether he could penetrate Gilgamesh's armor with them or manage to hit the head.
Enuma Elish is an Antiworld Noble Phantasm, and it destroyed a reality marble of tier higher than that of UBW, Ionian Hetairoi. Consider that Enuma Elish power is of 5000 while Excalibur was of... 150? 250? I dont remember.
SarzaelX Of course it is Anti-World, and it's power is unmatchable, but that's only if you manage to fire it. If the opponent is too fast, then well, you're screwed.
***** If he has it pulled he doesnt need more time to use Enuma Elish than Saber does for Excalibur. The only reason Shirou defeated Gilgamesh was because he didnt want to use it.
DerVasto It sounds cool but I don't think it would be conducted like that. UBW's main purpose is to create weapons, so overloading it wouldn't cause them to became Broken Phantasms all at once. more like filling entire Reality Marble (that's infinite in it's volume) with steel at one instant.
Broken Phantasm was Archer's method of using Noble phantasms as explosive weapons. He overloads the weapons individually so that they explode on contact. It was the so-called last ditch effort heroes could use if they needed an explosive burst of energy at the cost of their weapon, which Archer abused. So by making UBW a broken phantasm, each sword within it would be a glowing bomb ready to explode at his command.
fbiuzz There's no 'probably' about it. And we're not talking a nuclear level explosion killing him, we're talking complete eradication. The 'science' behind a broken phantasm is overloading the physical form of the Noble Phantasm. But the physical form of a Reality Marble isn't the reality it creates, but its wielder's soul. As for the functionality of a Broken Reality Marble I'd imagine it would work like this, though it would take Holy Grail level energy to do it. So, a normal reality marble overrides the laws of reality in a limited area for a short amount of time, right? The somewhat logical next step to that is a permanent override- either in that original area or of all reality. Basically, the distorted reality of the user's soul becomes the reality everyone else has to live with.
This song is pretty badass. I'm gonna look for it on Brawl Vault later to put on Final Destination... as if I don't already have enough epic tracks for that stage =P
i need to edit a pokemon game to put Fate Stay characters in my party or opponents party...then add this badass music for the battle. Hmm...replace Lance with Lancer for instance...
Wait. Archer ranted in UBW about how even though he saved only those in front of him, he still became the way he is. Then again, he also said "this time". Has Archer experienced all 3 world lines (time travel theory) of Fate/Stay night? Fuck it, I need to finish UBW and start Heaven's Feel.
Archer doesn't do time travel. He's an half heroic spirit(actually not a real one before the end of the war,but can be summoned as one)and heroic spirits can be summoned in all timelines and worlds of the multiverse. So Archer being summoned in all tre routes has lived every one of them, just as Artoria has lived one when she fails in HF,one where she sees Rin adn Shirou be toegether and one when she loves Shirou.
You said "over-practicing circuits" not "making fake circuits." His skin, hair, and eye color are different colors because of "extensive use of projection magecraft," along with his Reality Marble not because he used fake circuits.
Actually, unless the Archer from Fate/Extra had a different past from the Fate/Stay Archer (or I'm misinterpreting something), he made a deal with Gaia in order to save a bunch of people from a nuclear reactor melting down
what's this discussion about UBW being noble phantasm or not lol.. UBW is not noble phantasm, It is A Marble Phantasm!!! Noble Phantasm is usually always in form of weapon

what exactly is a broken phantasm, I've guessed it's most likely just overpowering and imploding your noble phantasm but i have not gained any real definitive explanation.
You know how you can overclock a CPU to make it work a lot better, but it'll blow up after a little while? It's that. You only get one attack with it because it'll detonate after it's used, but that one attack is about 10x as strong as it would normally be. It's normally a really risky idea, since a Servant only gets a couple of Noble Phantasms, but if you get a servant who can _make_ noble phantasms, then it suddenly becomes a viable tactic. Assuming you have the mana available to fuel it, of course.
@@Thalanox It's not permanent for the servant right? They get back their noble phantasm when the grail war is over right? Also, if gilgamesh ever got ordered to do this via command seal He'd wipe out the entire timeline it happened in.
@@goldenbrigain7031 The servant never actually leaves the throne of heroes. What gets summoned to the Grail War is just a copy of the Heroic Spirit. It is permanent for the version of the Heroic Spirit that goes through the Grail War, and you know that no servant really lasts beyond the end of the Grail War unless they're some sort of major exception. Gilgamesh doesn't necessarily care about most of his weapons. He has more super-amazing treasures than he can keep track of. He used a couple of them on not!Cthulhu in Zero and then said he just wasn't interested in going back to pick them up because they got dirty. (That Gilgamesh is also just a copy, BTW).
A broken phantasm is a technique used by servants, is based on the drastic increase of energy in the mysteries that marked the legend of the hero. When they overload the artifact, it becomes brittle, becoming broken and increasing its power exponentially, normally rising in a range.
This leads to the loss of the noble phantasm, although it can be recovered over time, in a battle it is not widely used by heroic spirits, rather than as a last resort, since if they fail to defeat their opponent, it is practically a sentence of death. The only heroic spirit that can make use of this technique without any inconvenience is Emiya, so he can abuse this technique as much as he wants, this compensates for the loss of range of his projections.

A Broken Reality Marble would just result in that pocket reality exploding. So it would be a suicide attack.
Pretty sweet
the problem with that theory that Archer came from Fate route is that Nasu himself said that the probability of Shirou turning into Archer in all 3 available routes is close to ZERO... this is evidenced in Fate route when Archer had the chance of killing Shirou while training in the shed but Archer talked with Shirou about his ideals in saving people and Shirou answered that he knows he could not save everyone and he will only save those in front of him he could save, thereby dissuading Archer.
nice.
It doesn't have a rank, its not a noble phantasm, its a reality marble that Emiya created. Technically Emiya isn't even a real hero, its stated that he is an anti-existance to normal heroes.
Why is ubw not a noble phantasm ?
@@karnvarshneya3019 It's magecraft.

oh.
I like how at around min 2-3 Archer whispers the UBW chant in the background.
Can u tell me about Archer? I know it has been a long time
Well, it's technically a Noble Phantasm, but not a weapon like Excalibur. A Noble Phantasm is something that identifies a hero; like a signature move. It's usually contained in the form of a weapon, but not always, as is the case of Emiya and Gilgamesh.
A Broken Phantasm is a single use weapon that acts much like a disposable Noble Phantasm.
This sounds like something that would fit in a Devil May Cry game.

Actually, according to the Wiki profiles, Extra Archer is different from the Stay Archer. Somehow the Extra one has a less snarky personality too, as well as making a pact with the Moon Cell instead of Gaia.
Not "over-practicing circuits" since it's been stated that Shirou makes his nerves into temporary circuits and his real circuits have been neglected and become degraded.
MIND BLOWN.
And if he had UBW as a Broken Phantasm, all of his weapons will become BPs.
Unlimited Lost Works is basically UBW used as a Broken Phantasm. Thanks to EMIYA Alter "mah nigga" version from F/GO.
@@1erickf50 Its not really a broken phantasm. Unlimited Lost Works generates an infinite amount of swords from the inside of the target aimed outward instead of around the target aimed at the target. Its similar in concept to Muramasa Emiya who uses Unlimited Blade Works to generate but a single blade, the ultimate blade Muramasa desired to create in life but never could. A different method of using the Reality Marble.

The scouter exploded after reading OVER 9000. I'm guessing it's unlimited.
Most heroes worth anything have solved their problems with quite a bit of wit -_-
Heracles or Herakles was a possible Archer because his NP Nine Lives was done originally with a bow
He's false Archer in fate/extella
Very carefully.
What does the scouter say about it's GAR level?
Unreadable
Impossible. It has a rank as a Noble Phantasm, but it's a magecraft. There's no physical construct for him to overload with mana to make explode. He'd be self detonating in that case.
Unpleasant fact for today: there won't be any sequel for Fate/ produced in the future, so there is no way this track gets to be heard during reading.
Where dost thou obtain this info?
evilnekowantznobs It's not official, I'm just being pessimistic. Having another piece of Shirou's adventures after Fate/Hollow Ataraxia sounds way too good to be true.
Not to mention I meant say "Fate/Stay night sequel". We can still hope for more stuff like /Apocrypha or /Extra

It didn't seem that appealing to me, probably because I think that Fate/=Emiya Shirou. What I hope for is Ilya's unpublished route from Fate/Stay Night.
***** wait their was suppose to be a route....? well she is chronologically older then shirou if I remember correctly
Something Ive always wondered: how does Shirou has all many blades in Unlimited Blade Works? Does he share it with Archer or do they have thier own UBW?
When Archer uses Ubw to fight with shiou he copy all the weapon what see, in the right with Gilgamesh he project de Ubw what he see
For that he can't use Ubw in heaven feels
@@Melder_Kou But I meant in the first days, when he can't copy Archer
@@raulfernandez57 Like in his dreams?
@@badbeardbill9956 Nevermind, I think I got the answer since then. Long story short: Shirou has *his own* UBW filled with weapons because Archer exists, so either by the very fact of two Shirous existing and/or because he sees Archer´s UBW his dreams like you say, Shirou´s Reality Marble copies them subconsciously or not.
i love this
That's only assuming Unlimited blade works ONLY makes that world, However, UBW is not limited to creating a reality marble with infinite swords. Both archer and shirou's projection is really just pulling a sword from this world, thus making making UBW not limited to a counter guardian, since Shirou and Archer have been using UBW all the time.
I don't think he meant the Reality Marble would be broken, I think he meant that all of the Noble Phantasms within Unlimited Blade Works would be Broken Phantasms
by how high the pitch is when you play it.
Crow'sClaw is epic as ever! XD
No, the next step would be Anti-Solar System.
If he was Archer, he could run over the Grail.

@Dervasto: Enuma... ELISH! *Unlimited Blade Works dissapears leaving behind a defenseless Archer*
SarzaelX
Of course it is Anti-World, and it's power is unmatchable, but that's only if you manage to fire it. If the opponent is too fast, then well, you're screwed.
_Like hell I'd let you!_
*Shredded his arm before he had the chance to use it.*
***** If he has it pulled he doesnt need more time to use Enuma Elish than Saber does for Excalibur. The only reason Shirou defeated Gilgamesh was because he didnt want to use it.
Hm...So maybe Archer was the result of a Shirou gone wrong and thus creating Heroic Spirit EMIYA? After all, theres too many possibilities XD
Dirk Strider If Archer Broke UBW with all those NP's that would probably be nuclear level explosion right there. Probably killing himself as well.
Hence why it would be a last resort even for him
fbiuzz There's no 'probably' about it.
Entropy 44 It's only a physical manifestation of the weilder's soul but it;s not literal. Otherwise Iskandar would be dead when Ea blows it up.
This song is pretty badass. I'm gonna look for it on Brawl Vault later to put on Final Destination... as if I don't already have enough epic tracks for that stage =P

We all are GAR for Archer....
what exactly is a broken phantasm, I've guessed it's most likely just overpowering and imploding your noble phantasm but i have not gained any real definitive explanation.
