One thing i can't believe is that the trend is big 6 seater suv's and people actually choose big suv's over a minivan. Minivans are at least 7 seats and have a great trunk while SUVs are tighter and have a tiny trunk.
Yep. I'm one of those people. Fought with SUVs for years because wife hated minivans, but finally convinced her to get one and now she sees it. Couldn't care less what people think. The minivan is the most practical family oriented vehicle in existence.

Love how quiet the Hybrid is but then again the Honda V6 just screams hard to pick. Only thing I don't like is the Chrome wheel caps at first I thought they were all one until the tech at my dealership told me you can take them off.
The Honda will need a new transmission by 150k. They all do. Too much power and too heavy for a FWD trans to handle. The Sienna's eCVT will last forever.
The kids are all grown up. Our Sienna use case is hauling cargo and also camping (sleeping in the back of the van), and working on the road nomad style. We were extremely disappointed to learn that the middle row of seats were not designed (in 2021 and 2022 models) to, and cannot easily be, taken out. Apparently this is by design and ignores the whole 'haul stuff' and 'sleep in the back of the van' nomad lifestyles that we were hoping to do. It is a huge disappointment and might be a deal breaker.

The second is I would prefer a plug in. The 3rd is the removal of the bluray player (free movies at the library and the kids pick out a bunch for road trips).I love that we get seasons of classic shows..they love Dennis the menace and lassie etc.. If I could fix those 3 things, then take my $55,000!! Rav4prime drivetrain please with a bluray and 2nd row...I know they won't go back though unfortunately. So may go, ugh... Chrysler next.

As for the Bluray player, that's the one thing you could fix in this model since it has a full outlet and HDMI port in the center console under the monitor. We have a firestick (and the built in LTE) and a Nintendo Switch back there for the kids.

Newer cars are so throaty. I never hear the engine inside my 2002 Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7 anymore. Since I fixed the exhaust it's pitch quiet. It's to quite. I wouldn't mind some acceleration noise.

The "transmission" is basically an electric motor and an electric generator connected by a planetary gear set. The engine has to rev high during acceleration, it's generating a lot of electricity for the motor.

Now imagine explaining to every single passenger, how the seats move, what to pull and where to push to get in the third row or adjust the second row... The driver has to do it all by himself every time and that's a huge discomfort

@@OldDood every van will be reliable for the first few years. It’s only after 10 years or if you buy used is what the real test is I can bet a Pacifica phev will be more efficient with the ability to plug in Also considering the sienna is not the best selling minivan
@@MattCC16Gaming the interior isn’t even best in class. That goes to the Pacifica and carnival. The interior space is also lagging. So is cargo practicality. The last gen model had class leading cargo space vs the others. Now it’s middle to below average. The second row seats don’t even come out anymore like before. Also The tech like the infotainment (even though I love Toyotas system) and the gauge cluster isn’t great vs the Pacifica or carnival. Plus unlike the Kia carnival Theres no cool factor The hybrid system though is what’s great about it

Really don’t like how the engine just holds at a certain RPM. Probably a CVT thing but I wish it simulated shifts
The "transmission" is a dual-motor planetary gear set, not a belt and pulley CVT. It can simulate a 6-speed using the manual mode.
