Silly Caldaris! This was too fun and engaging to be a GW Simulator. A GW Simulator would just be the Primaris units across the factions in a stalemate, because no Primaris can lose! 😛

Thats a good map as I recall. Not one of those lazy mirror image ones but a nicely crafted interesting one.

A space marine face-off asw well as a Caldaris Commentary? A surprise to be sure but a welcome one :D
also what kind of buff are the space wolves gonna get in the next version?

I think Max did a showcase on them, but long story short they have one of if not the longest balance change lists on the dev list.
So I think the quickest answer is it's a mini rework (while not changing any of the mechanics)

More than anything, I don't understand why they don't give the greenlight for a remastered version of the first Dawn of War games instead of pumping out new stuff. They don't own the rights to the Dawn of War name or what? they would make like BILLIONS of money if, for example, they paid you, packed your work in a single bluray or in a single steam installer and re-release it for the general public. There's an entire generation (made of me myself and I, for example) that they would have NEVER CARED of the IP if it wasn't for Dawn of War introducing it to them (I never played the tabletop game and never will, even if I actually own a couple of figurine vehicles bought from a thrifstore near me). Nostalgy + remaster of a series of classic games = money flowing to your wallet. Bandai/Toei level of nonsense in relation to the release of Tokusatsu merchandise in the west, you're avoiding making big buck$ because reasens.

It's up to Sega and Relic to arrange, not Games Workshop, and they feel the game is "complete as is". The Devs of Unification have even asked about both a remaster, and obtaining the source code, but where shut down.

It's completely ludicrous. I've seen and played remastered versions of everything made sometimes with zero or almost zero effort possible (SC Remastered, for example, is one of those cases IMHO, the shiny coat can't hide the extremely dated ASF gameplay) yet people speak of those remastered versions, they pay those remastered versions, stuff goes on. Hell, they pay crap like WC III reforged even with all the controversy and whatnot, I'm pretty confident they would gladly pay for something in that vein concerning Dawn of War just, of course, made better.

Oh and if Sega and Relic think the game is as good as it is maybe they should have a good oculist check for their eyes because it isn't. I'm currently playing the vanilla version of Soulstorm, I have found a game-breaking bug while finishing the Spees Mareen fortress, I'm using all the possible solutions the internet suggests but the game just quits, no matter what you do. This game in this state (I'm playing the GOG version) is barely finished as it is. This would need a proper remaster no questions attached.
