It’s really hard to nail that illusion of looking down a tiny pinprick of a sight and seeing basically a thin metal ring around the edge. You could create 2 graphical covers for the weapons, one where the sight is fully thick when carrying/hip-firing, and one that thins out when you ADS, but that’s a little much and likely to cause a more serious bug elsewhere.

The AKM has a strange rear sight. It is based off the Spetsnaz AKMB, which has a dovetail mount and a different rear sight for subsonic rounds, as they are meant to be suppressed.
To be fair on the revolver, both Smith and Wesson and Colt have made some absolutely gorgeous engraved revolvers or presentation grade ones historically. Which they are beautiful works of art and even more to value as some of those beautiful examples were done by skilled engravers of the 19th century. One example is Gustav young, I do believe even one of such revolvers are in the metropolitan art museum in New York. Those ones I feel are in better taste of gun decoration than the ones made in shooters. Though there are ones that have that such like on the series with RE8, like the Wolfsbane revolver which I definitely loved the gold and black with engravings. The Lewis gun is a cool machine gun to see and use in video games. Interesting design with air cooling and one of those firearms designed by someone with military experience and getting military approval for use at the same time. Nice story attached to that one Lewis gun shared.
it is very probable that the MAC is proportionately sized in-game as the weapon is exclusive to the "Light Build", a character who is noticeably shorter than the others and has noticeably smaller features (hands, head, etc.) also. I would definitely love another video on this game, some other guns like the silenced pistol or the flamethrower, or the numerous weapon skins that greatly alter the weapons' looks (even going back into footage from the beta to look at some skins that have not yet officially released) could be very interesting for Jonathan to cover.
14:05 in this game the players are in classes of light, medium and heavy and the Mac 11 is a light class weapon and the light character is a scaled down tiny little 3 foot tall adult human, so the gun would look huge in his hands.
14:00 most likely the M11 looks so tiny because it used by a light class. they are overall pretty tiny so it may look big in these tiny hands in short there are light, medium and heavy, which all differ in sizes quite much. so the assumption he had with tiny hands is quite fitting.
Glad that this has become a long time running thing for Jonathan. Still here's to hoping he gets to review Darkest of Days and the future guns that are in it!
I'd really love to see Jonathan take a look at SOG: Prairie Fire. It's a Vietnam DLC for ARMA that is practically a whole new game. It was created by a different development team (ex modders) and they have gone crazy with the detail and the number of cool and obscure firearms. We've got XM177s, French MAT-49 smgs, MAT-49s converted to take Soviet ammo, 20-round M16 mags loaded to 18 rounds to prevent jamming, old school optics, first-generation starlight scopes, rifle grenades... it's also a great opportunity to look at some of the static weapons like the Maxim or DsHK or 20mm Oerlikon and 40mm Bofors (check out the US assault boats) that we don't get to see in many games.
4:34 wasnt that lever originally made popular in the western show The Rifleman? That shows from late 50s before True Grit was made. thats where i saw it, watching reruns
Pushing as always for you guys to have Jonathan cover Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and to cover the M8 and MRI Caseless specifically as well. I have been posting for you to do this in every video a year back now.
A note on the m11, Johnathan did say that the character may just have small hands. The only class who can have the m11 is the light class who are in game very short, not sure if that’s why but yeah
I'd would like to see another Hunt: Showdown episode, a lot of cool guns were added there, and it would be interesting to see Jonathan's thoughts on gun-related perks.
I thought that the spin-cocking was first popularized by the show 'The Rifleman' in the late 1950's which was earlier than Wayne's 'True Grit'. (Though the rifle in the rifleman was a modified Winchester 1892.)
I'm a gun collector, and if they would make A firing replica semiauto lewis gun i would buy it in a heartbeat. I don't know why but that gun always had a special place in my heart.
There was a really similar rotary tube shotgun on Kentucky Ballistics recently. Although with that one you have to manually load the tubes which takes forever.
would definitely love to see Receiver 2 on the channel one of these days! some of the most faithfully-recreated firearms *and* firearm controls i've ever seen in a flat game, and they're internally modeled down to the pins. still some animation borks here and there because Video Games like the cylinder release catch on one of the revolvers being animated in the wrong direction and the hammer spring of the desert eagle clipping through the backstrap, but the game certainly deserves the attention ^^
i think the m60 sight was opened up to the righ because in game it has a very visible horizontal recoil and as result alot of horizontal sway wich makes me to believe your sight would have just exited the groove where it should be in
"the m11 has a scaling issue or the character has tiny hands." The character in game that uses it, does in fact, have tiny hands. this weapon is used exclusively by the Light class, which has a smaller character model.
8:14 Purely out of curiosity.. why was the shooters face blurred out in that video you guys used? was it an Active service member shooting it? or simply a case of "we didnt have their permission to show their face" thing?

14:05 in this game the players are in classes of light, medium and heavy and the Mac 11 is a light class weapon and the light character is a scaled down tiny little 3 foot tall adult human, so the gun would look huge in his hands.
Please, pleeeease do more weapons from this game!!❤
3:16 I really like that Jonathan knows RLM
14:00 most likely the M11 looks so tiny because it used by a light class. they are overall pretty tiny so it may look big in these tiny hands
in short there are light, medium and heavy, which all differ in sizes quite much. so the assumption he had with tiny hands is quite fitting.
Okay i was surprised to see the skin of the M shotgun changed animations too, might buy it now
Glad that this has become a long time running thing for Jonathan.
As for the MAC-10 looking big, it is a weapon for the "light" Class and you'd be correct in that they are very small lol
4:34 wasnt that lever originally made popular in the western show The Rifleman? That shows from late 50s before True Grit was made. thats where i saw it, watching reruns
Johathan should look at the guns of SAO Fatal Bullet and COD Advanced Warfare
So it's _you_ now
Pushing as always for you guys to have Jonathan cover Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and to cover the M8 and MRI Caseless specifically as well.
I have been posting for you to do this in every video a year back now.
Hope you feel better Jonathon :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! :D
You should just give this guy the entire channel at this point.
Feel better soon, Jonathan
Thanks!
I thought that the spin-cocking was first popularized by the show 'The Rifleman' in the late 1950's which was earlier than Wayne's 'True Grit'. (Though the rifle in the rifleman was a modified Winchester 1892.)
1:07. The old mag gets punched out by the left hand as it goes to catch the new mag on the left side of the AK
I'm a gun collector, and if they would make A firing replica semiauto lewis gun i would buy it in a heartbeat. I don't know why but that gun always had a special place in my heart.
We really need a part 2, this is the first game ever to feature the Laugo Alien, im pretty sure.
Always glad to see a RLM reference
You should have a look at Killzone Series lots of Helical Mags, Bullpups etc
Deus Ex Series lots of futuristic concepts and guns
Alan Wake series
The AKM has one other mistake. It's full auto, but the selector is in the semi-auto position.
@3:17 Nice reference to RLM
I love using the Lewis gun so much
The Finals Is Straight Gas 🔥🔥🔥
It's the AKMN, John. They come with dovetail sight mounts.
Jonathan looks so f-ing cool during the intro scene...
Johnathan love your content, hope you guys keep these videos coming for years!
Every happy their every close to the real guns in this game shows they put effort in it
i think the m60 sight was opened up to the righ because in game it has a very visible horizontal recoil and as result alot of horizontal sway wich makes me to believe your sight would have just exited the groove where it should be in
"the m11 has a scaling issue or the character has tiny hands."
The character in game that uses it, does in fact, have tiny hands. this weapon is used exclusively by the Light class, which has a smaller character model.
8:14 Purely out of curiosity.. why was the shooters face blurred out in that video you guys used? was it an Active service member shooting it? or simply a case of "we didnt have their permission to show their face" thing?
