  • After upgrading from a Hero 4 Black to a Hero 6 Black I thought I'd try out one of the new features: Telemetry. This shows me how fast I was going, my position on GPS, and how much G Force the camera felt. I also wanted to improve on my last "top speed" video on my other channel.

Mines done 150,00kms of mostly high rpm highway riding with only an oil change every 7-8k kms and still starts first kick and runs like a dream, these things are absolutely bulletproof.

74 is moving pretty good on a 250. I had my 1995 KLR 650 (705 big bore) to about 111 on speedo and it was still climbing slightly. This was on a close course, of course. The speedometer seems to read about 6-7 mph slower than my dragy GPS at that speed so actual top speed is likely around 106-108.

Mine likes 55 to 60 all day. At 70 the RPMs are up there. They are amazing on gas mileage Im getting almost 100 mpg stock.

@@GyroPyro121212 KLR 650 should. I have owned them. KLR 250s will do 60 65 all day but the rpms are probably 6000 6500
I do not like pushing my bike real hard. But they do not redline till 9500. Yeah.. 650s are a different story..lol

@@Denver1976Man My bike will cruise at 80 pretty comfortable around 5,300 rpm. 85 is pushing 5,500+ and 90 is screaming at just under 6,000. I tend to cruise at 85 absolute max but 90 if I’m in a hurry. It consumes a bit of oil like any KLR650, but seems to handle high speeds pretty well.

I was always sketched out taking mine on the Highways in San Diego. I didn't really feel safe going over 65 on it

65 the rpms are up there. 55 is a good speed on them. I would not want to run on the interstate but maybe a short exit to exit.

these guys buying these chinese bikes and moding the hell out of them to get 60mph. they are junk. buy a used klr 250. rather than a hawk 230 that looses its bolts because they vibrate so bad. dangerous in the woods.

I agree,an older one of these is way better than one of those crappy Chinese bikes. I went and looked at one I found on Offer Up. I bought a 1990 KLR 250 instead because it was better than a 2yo Hawk. I don't think the Hawk engine is very good. Probably lucky to get 10k miles out of it. I've heard people say it just like a Honda. Well,it's not. It's made really cheaply.

@@Thundarr995 if you saw the gears and broke down the bottom end of one of the china bikes you will find they are made of inferior metals and in some cases nylon.
i am not cutting people who were buying them at 1000 or 1300 shipped. They are now 1800 o 2500. screw that. But if your going 50 60 mph and a gear goes and the bike locks up they could get hurt or even killed. I have a 2005 KLR 250 it is cherry. paid 2000. Found a 98 KLR today. needs the clutch plates replaced. 900 and the guy has the clutch kit. Blue and white. Might buy it and fix it up to sell. it is clean. They are stout made bikes. Have had mine up to over 80 mph. red line on these are 9500 i think.
