Dom, and Paul two iconic Industry Luminaries, that I’m humbled to have crossed paths with during my career. What a gift these two Gentleman have been to so many. 🥂🥂❤️❤️
So awesome. I loved it! What a legend
Paul Leim was the reason I started learning drums aged 15 back in 1988, his work on the Amy Grant albums was inspirational.
That interview was so good. Dom is so graceful and encouraging. And Paul is a most beautiful and accomplished drummer.
Guys like Paul are the real CATS! They have my deepest respect!
This is unbelievable to hear Paul let that 'Episode ' out . Even after such Mishap , he became Immortal in the L.A. session Scene . I was always intrigued by reading his name in the credits through the 80's and very impressed with his performances on so many Tracks.
He’s one of my heroes
Well Mr. Leim was my Louis Bellson! When I picked up sticks and started learning to play in 1986 (by ear, self taught) I learned that the touring players were really good but it was the session players that I idolized. Eddie Bayers, Milton Sledge, Rick Marotta, Lonnie Wilson and Paul Leim. I can't read music but am familiar with the Nashville number system and can get through it if needed...all of that was stuff I read about while I was learning to play. At 13-14, I was reading liner notes to find out who played on the albums. Sledge, Bayers, and Leim have been such a huge inspiration through the years. I am truly grateful to have learned to play in the 80's, 90's and to this day.
I would love to hear your take on groove pocket feel
I wasted so many years playing live and not really understanding all that concept. Now I’m achieving the pocket at 65 years old for the first time pretty shocking, huh? You’re a stud Paul.
What an amazing interview with Paul! He is definitely one the greatest studio drummers who can play all styles of music with impeccable proficiency.
ABSOLUTELY love Paul’s playing and attitude. Amazing player. Got turned onto him in the mid 80s. Thank you so much for this interview!
I always enjoy interviews with Paul. Such a great talent and a very humble guy!
Two of my favorite drummers...
Paul is a gem!
Have worked with him a few times, and he's a consummate pro plus a really nice guy :)
Thank you for inspiring me Paul all the way here in New Zealand. I have followed your career since forever. This clip blesses me no end.
This is the absolute best interview I have ever heard in my life!
His dedication to learning everything he could behind the drums keeps his phone ringing. He inspired me to get off my ass and think outside the box. Now my (local) phone rings just how I want it to.
I admire how curious Paul always is, it makes all the difference! Inspirational as always Dom!
Another fantastic, inspirational interview! Thank you Dom, Paul & The Sessions Panel!

Thank you Paul for all the inspiration. You are a legend of this great craft.
Great interview. Paul is so humble and real about his journey. It is so special when you hear musicians of this caliber, share their own stories of doubts about their ability, and you realize even the truly great players still can so it hard, but work to rise above it.
Such a great conversation by two great people thank you so much Paul, Dom.
👍🏽
Great interview! Thanks Paul, thanks Dom!
Legendary drummer! Always played for the song but also had some tasty licks added in!!
Love, love, love these interviews! I learn so much. There's nothing else like it. Thanks so much, Dom!

Thanks Dom, and thanks Paul for your honesty and candidness.
Absolutely fantastic stories, Paul is a professional's professional. Love his Yamaha snares too! 👍🥁Dom love ya man - fantastic interviews! Hey I have one of Josh Freese's ride Cymbals signed by him, he's currently on tour with Sting while Vinnie is with Jeff Beck. Paul Leim is a great inspiration, God Bless ya Dom! DC
Thanks, Dom, for another fantastic interview! Been a huge fan of Paul for decades. Check his amazing variety of playing on Amy Grant’s album Straight Ahead. Interesting story: One evening I was sitting near the stage at the Opry. At one point I noticed a change in the drum sound and feel. I looked over and the first drummer had been replaced by Paul! The same drums, same venue, but Paul’s playing stood out that much!
Tom Carr Also Amy Grant's unguarded album was a mindblowing album because of Leim!!
PAUL THANK YOU FOR YOURE CONTRIBUTION TO THE MUSICAL JUNGLE YOU ARE VERY HUMBLE LT. CRUSTY OLE DRUMMER 🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩🕶
What a dude. Paul is the kinda cat you wanna know, hang out with and play music with
What a great human. No bullshit. Very humble.
Fantastic, inspirational interwiew, thanks Dom and Paul,we can so much learn from you two, thanks man !Great !
Love Paul's work. My interest in him started first when I heard Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith or Joe Chemay band. He also recorded a couple of interesting things for German producer Dieter Falk. Really good music....
Just listening to Any Grant...some really great drumming...rock solid grooves.
This is just beautiful! I love the humility and the love of music and the craft of evolving constantly. Thank You Dom and Paul! All the best to You both! :)
I only know him for his work with Michael Nesmith... Would like to hear him talk about those sessions.
Amazing interview!
The adulation for Louie was so great!! One of my very first inspirations was "Skin Deep". I must have listened to that 100+ times!! Also, the records that Paul has done the drumming on are magical!! A Collin Raye album called "I Think About You" shows Paul's magic. Saw Collin live later and missed Paul's drumming incredibly!!! One of the greatest grooves ever was "On the Verge" from that CD. The guy Collin brought on the road couldn't compare to Paul.
Great stuff!
Great Interview 🎶🎶

He was of course in awe with Louis bellson coming up an lift to top floor and thought was God Dom being tall was probably intimidated by a shorter drummer like buddy rich taller drummer's often scared of less tall drummer's because taller drummer's speak and move slower physically than shorter drummer's shorter drummer's speak sharply and quickly and usually have a better sense of fashion wearing trendy hats and eye 👁 glasses 🥂 👓 🕶 😎 😄
Did he subliminally give sugar foot some props on thriller making everyone het with a click lol
He is over his shoulders, bragging
