Love these trends. We put in a workstation sink, what a game changer for my husband, who cooks most of the time; we also put in black glass backsplash (black with grey "zebra" stripes")-absolutely beautiful and easy to clean. We also get a lot of compliments on how fantastic it looks.
Oh I'm jealous of such a fab sink! My hubby cooks but I'm the dishwasher so I'd love something like that. Do you recommend any certain brand of workstation sink?
great luxury design trends! i added several of them to my super small u-shaped remodeled kitchen. i installed an induction stove, paneled dishwasher, pull out garbage under the sink, and a rev a shelf magic corner. i also went with a tall narrow stainless steel counter depth fridge (only 24 inches wide) which has given me more counter space...game changer! also the cabinets are slim shaker (1 inch shaker)... simply white uppers to the ceiling and white oak lowers. under cab lights are a must. so far i really like my new kitchen!
I love my induction stove, would not want anything else. It is so fast and the best part is it is so easy to keep clean. As far as the work sinks. My son put one in his new house and I was there for a week and came to hate it. It is so messy, hard to clean and do dishes in. Give me a good old fashioned stainless steel sink any day. Great video, but my favourite thing in a kitchen is lots of beautiful windows to look out and enjoy the scenery, while you cook or bake.
Yes we just bought this house and plan to renovate it next year. I’ve been thinking of painting the cabinets in the meantime. What are your plans for your kitchen? What color cabinets and counters are you going with?
I am currently in the process of remodeling my kitchen. And one of the first things that I bought was a beverage refrigerator half wine half beverage. It will go on my beverage bar that is in my Butler pantry. I'm excited
@@pennymodern My island and one wall of cabinets and my butler pantry is waypoint maple walnut with the 1"raised around it (I can't think of what that's called. But it's not the full shaker cabinet ) and The wall that has the refrigerator and the wall oven, microwave, and warming drawer is going to be waypoint vanilla. All of my cabinets will have black handles and pulls. All of the appliances are KitchenAid black stainless. And I have a 33-in Black Undermount Kitchen Sink Workstation. I'm beyond excited.
I need help finding one of the workstations you show on your links. Please help! It is the one with the neutral (taupe, maybe) accessory that slides on the top.
We have walls of windows on two sides of our kitchen. Our range is under them. We've tried other layouts, but this works best. I've never had a range hood, but if i wanted one, what works? I really dont want to block the view, and there is only about a foot of wall above the windows. The walls are 10 ft. We are replacing our gas range with induction.
Please! Tell me what you the name of that porcelain tile you highlighted. It is the kitchen just before you moved to bold color kitchen cabinets. Please help
Porcelain is stronger than the hardiest granite - almost 30% stronger in fact. Porcelain’s tough structure also makes it scratch resistant. You can even slice and dice food right on it without worrying about your knives damaging the surface. However - Porcelain countertops have few cons. One is that it will crack under blunt force. It’s strong but not that strong. As long as you don’t take a hammer or a meat cleaver to it, it’ll be fine.
Yes that is what some other members of our community are saying - it's tough to clean the workstation sink. I do think the bells and whistles are pretty cool though!
I went for a modified work station sink. It is a Kohler porcelain on cast iron, one undivided sink with a removable bottom grid, a colander/ small cutting board which are white to match the sink. I use the hidden compartment to hide my scrub brush and dishwashing liquid. It keeps my sink area uncluttered and is easy to clean.
Hi Again, You asked what are my thoughts on paneled appliances? You know I always have had that those panels, as in the same as the cupboards wood, were done in only very high-end Kitchens, not in the mainstream. So if that is you in the upper 10% say of homeowners, then fine. You all have the extra mullah to spend hiding your appliances, so you do not see them. Maybe you can still find your fridge, cause it is so big. But where is the dishwasher. I would not mind hiding the trash compactor if you have one! Otherwise panels hide the appliances and I do not know how others feel, but I want to see my dishwasher. I have a Maytag ultra quiet one in SS I like the finish and I like the look so I do not need more panels on my dear dishwasher. Actually the fridge matches so no, not there either. But for those who like the panels go for it, not me really. That is just one person's humble opinion. Thanks for asking! 😊
Great podcast! I did buy one small colored fridge for the game room. However, my tastes run conservative, and for me the colored appliances reek of the old fashioned and out of date. No, no, and absolutely not for me! Like the new sinks!
I agree that colorful appliances may look dated at some point, we will see. What are your thoughts on the panel-ready appliances that you can put one of your cabinet panels on the front?
I'm not gonna lie, me either. I've lived in 2 homes with an avocado green range and range hood. What do you think about the panel-ready appliances to make them blend into the cabinetry?
Looks like kitchens are becoming a fashion statement. ( Butler's kitchen, pocket walls, workstation sinks, drink's fridge ) Their disappearing! Not me, I'm using mine! I really don't like the colourful appliances. ( Its modern retro ! ) 🤢
Good quality appliances are just too expensive to make them a trendy major fashion statement. The wealthy may feel it is a disposable aspect of their kitchen and they can replace when the fashion or whim has resulted in wanting to replace them. Neutral is just more practical and much more timeless.
@@RisaStacy Yes that's true, the wealthy can afford to restyle their kitchens as often as the trend's change, but not us commoners. We purchase with the long view in mind & a green retro fridge may be trendy today and not tomorrow. Also the butlers kitchens seem over the top. Their a fancy version of an outdoor sink, fridge & gas hotplate in the shed if you ask me. 🙂
Work station sink is number one on my list for my new kitchen.
Me too Galley workstations … so smart!
The enclosed appliance stations make so much sense.
Agree!!
The sink work station looks cool, but I am afraid that the cleaning of the station itself can be a headache
The wine cooler is part of my new design

A absolutely love induction cooking. I moved a few years ago and have a gas now. But my next home will be back to induction. Definitely

Would really appreciate a colorful, happy colored appliance.
I grew up using a harvest gold stove.

Thank you for the insights! Curious about the induction stove - does it boil water faster than a traditional stove?
@@pennymodern a lot faster, quick as gas
Omg your old kitchen behind you has the exact same granite and cabinets as mine, which I’m getting ready to renovate, LOL

Can you make a video on steps to detail the layout of a beverage station or a zone area
One of the workstations that you showed is not on your links. Help!

What do you think about epoxy counter tops that look like white marble or black granite ?
Love it! Probably going to try it or just painting the countertops in my bathroom soon!
A beverage & wine cooler mix
Yes, definitely more of a trend this year!

Can you imagine the fingerprints on glass cabinets? What a nightmare. Not to mention being able to see the clutter inside.
How breakable or crack resistant is the porcelain?
Porcelain is stronger than the hardiest granite - almost 30% stronger in fact.

Only want to cook on gas, with electric oven.
My husband is the same way! He does all the cooking!
Could not handle the workstation sink, way too much area and pieces to sanitize.

Not feeling the work station sink....going for a farmhouse sink. Work station is too much too cluttered look for me.

Workstation sinks, I think, just make more work b/c there’s so much stuff on the sink already. Definite hard pass for me.
Some people love them, other hate them. I think they are pretty polarizing honestly!
Haha. The guy in the kitchen wearing the mask makes me want to exit.
I am not a fan of colored appliances
