Thank you, I am an Okra lover and never want to waste even one pod. I will try your suggestions and am so thrilled about using just the seeds in those runaway Okras. Great video.
Your mom is a genius!😊 I thought the only thing you could use the large okra for was as lumber, lol. Hmmm...I wonder if they were dried you could use them for kindling? 😂😂 I never liked okra, but grew it last summer just to have something growing on our hot humid summers when nothing else would grow. Fresh okra is nothing like anything I have ever had. I sliced them down the center, seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning, and placed them cut side down in a skillet with olive oil. Let them be until they very slightly turn dark....if you are careful they will slightly carmelize and not burn.! Delicious!
That sounds like a recipe I will for sure tey this summer, thank you for that. And, I know my mom would tell me to tell you thank you, for those kind words. 💯👍

Thank you for the support.
It works, and like right now, I have some okras that are too big, but not huge, and this technique works on them. 👍
Dude love it, great job mom

Can I do this with a normal oven and not use microwave?
@springflowerdark2137 I don't know... the microwave softens the pod, where an oven would probably just cook it. 🤔
@@DownHomeBackyardGardening thanks for answering my question.
I wish I would have watched this before I threw all my overgrown okra to the chickens. Saving for next year!
The chickens are happy, so that's a win
I think you're on to something! I love okra and don't like to waste it. Thank you.
@@paigebailey26 It was my mom the whole way... she came up with the idea. 💯
I actually don’t have a microwave 🫠😅
