  • @chrissame

    Just got my little trim today, I want to prevent split ends as much as possible and keep my hair healthy, I have also stopped using the hair dryer! (Yay!) (Only today was exception because of the trimming) and will use a shirt to absorb water from my hair after shower. I also plan on starting on Blackmores: Hair, skin and nails once I get my test results back and get a further opinion. And oiling of course once a week.
    I really hope all this will help my hair, I managed to grow it from above arm pit length to elbows in 1 year and a half. I want to get to my hips.
    The trim that I had now was due to the fact I had so many twirly ends and a little bit of hair thinning. I have a good hairdresser, I told him I did not want much off and he listened and made it work.
    The front ends of my hair he cut them diagonally, ( first he Trimmed them slightly first), and I have not lost much length at all.
    I am a little concerned for the future for my hair, but all I can do is just try my best.
    Is it a good thing for me everyday to apply a small drop of coconut oil to my ends? It wont build up will it?. I find dryness is a battle for me to tame. And I want to find ways so my ends can receive moisture.

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  5 років тому +6

      Through the Telescope! Coconut oil really helps your hair retain protein, so over time too much protein might make your hair feel more dry. Try using argan oil, macadamia oil, or a different Hydrating oil daily instead if you find that to be the case! But just listen to your hair, if coconut oil daily doesn’t make it feel dry then you’re fine :)

      I do that at night. I take a mixture of coconut oil, equal parts olive oil, and then a tad bit of shea oil (you can get it at ulta) and I braid my hair at night, and just apply a drop of it to my hands then over the braid, everyday. I wash my hair once a week, I can wear it down like Monday to Wednesday or Thursday, then I just out it up Friday, I don't go anyway on the weekend, so I just wash it Sunday.

    This is such a neat idea. It's sort of like a support group for those wanting to grow their hair longer and healthier. I can't say that I'll be totally disciplined for this, but I will definitely do some of it (as I already do protective styles, satin caps, and oils daily, and virtually never bother with heat styling), I will be checking into getting black seed oil, and I will be sharpening my hair cutting scissors, because I am probably due for a couple inches trimmed off in mid-January.

    I encourage everyone here to go look at natural hair care. Lots of African and mixed and Mexican and generally curly people have been helping me with my curly hair for a year now and I LOVE it! Research about sulfates, silicones, heat damage, and plenty of other things to help the health of your hair. I recommend GreenBeauty, her channel is amazing! Good luck guys!

  • @refrigeratorskates492
    @refrigeratorskates492 5 років тому +1

    Hair masks and oils won’t hydrate your hair if you use products with silicones in them. The plastic will coat your hair and scalp and if you don’t clarify your hair first you’re just adding to the build up!

    I’m a little late but I’m going to try the winter challenge! I really want my hair to grow before my wedding! If I could recommend a video or if you already filmed one similar, I know you mentioned you had fine hair and I also have very fine thin hair but only about shoulder length a little longer, specific things you can do for each hair type? So all things thin fine straight hair should do, thick hair, curly hair etc. I have the hardest time getting my hair to not break off. I use sulphate and silicone free shampoo have for so long. zero heat on my hair always air dry. I use a silk pillow case. I do masks maybe once a month. I try to put my hair in braids or a lose pony if I need to wear it up. But my hair still breaks off! :( help lol 💕

    I thought u can do the inversion method once a month for 7 days for one month, skip two/three months then do it again. Because you can produce too much oil and it could clog your pores on your scalp and make your hair stop growing. That's just what I've been taught growing up. Just a tip, love your videos:)

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  5 років тому +2

      Thank you! I haven't experienced that, but it's really important to clarify your scalp at least once a month whether you're doing the inversion method with oils or not :)

    Hi Anna! I love your videos!!! I have a quick question and I would like your feedback. Please :)
    I have been doing hair care for about a full year now and my hair looks and feels good. However, I like to go to the gym and get a good workout in about 4 days a week. This leaves my head and hair really sweaty. I don’t want to shower and wash my hair every time I go to the gym because I don’t want to dry out my hair. Do you have any recommendations?

  • @dani-nt8ke
    @dani-nt8ke 5 років тому +2

    i used to have hair down to my butt and then i chopped it all off, and now it’s like mid-back, but i constantly get really bad split ends and now i feel like it’s 2 steps forward and 1 step back because i want to cut off the split/dead ends so they don’t get worse and then i lose all of the hair growth that i gained. i also have coconut oil and i used to put that in my hair over night and take a shower the next morning, and i bought shampoo and conditioner that has no parabens or silicones in it. it supposedly has a biotin boost in it 😬 idk. i also have to wash my hair like every morning bc i go to the barn and ride horses, and i also work out every day. do you have any advice or any tips for me? i really want to grow my hair long again but i’m not sure how to without chopping it all off due to split ends

    • @ariv1813

      You have to cut the split ends. I'm sorry. If you want your hair to grow healthy, you have to get rid of the dead ends and start fresh, otherwise it will get more damaged, the longer you wait, the worst the damage will get. Just cut it, try to wash it less often, never every day, the most often you should be doing it is every other day. Use dry shampoo. It won't kill u to have dirty hair a day.

    Does anyone feel the struggle of having hair that almost seems like it doesnt grow? Like I know my hair grows but it's only a 1/4 of an inch a month which is like 3 inches a year 😭😭😭😭 love my genetics 🙃 (yes I do take care of my hair and eat well)
    Edit: my hair is the same texture as hers, maybe a bit thinner and lighter in color

    Are you getting any trims during this time? Are you leaving the blackseed oil over night? And how much do you use?

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  5 років тому

      You can get a trim if you need one, it just might make it confusing to see your results! I won't be getting a trim until after the challenge. You can leave the black seed oil in over night if you want! It needs at least an hour to really be absorbed. I'm not sure how much I'll be using because I've never tried it, but just make sure you mix it with a carrier oil!

    Hey I love your channel! Is it okay to participate if we get a trim at some point in the winter? My ends are in good shape since my last cut in June but have grown pretty unevenly. Also, is a honey mask allowed in place of an oil occasionally? Excited to try inversion for the first time.

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  5 років тому

      Daniela R. Everyday for 7 days only! It doesn’t have to be the first week but it can only be for 1 week. Definitely watch my summer growth challenge video so you can get more info about the inversion method!

    does the black seed oil stain hair??? i heard its good for scalp massaging/oiling so the inversion method basically but i dont want my hair to stop growing out light colored bc of the oil hahah im sorry its such a silly question but i js want to be sure

    • @ailynf.7887
      @ailynf.7887 5 років тому

      also would it be okay to wash my hair after doing the inversion method or would it rinse away the oils?

  • @heytherestaythere368
    @heytherestaythere368 5 років тому

    Hey. Please let me know if I need to wash my hair with a shampoo and conditioner everytime I use oil for the inversion method.

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  5 років тому

      No you don't! I wash my hair every 3 days during the inversion method and I use a super small amount of oil so it doesn't even really show that much until the second or third day anyways :)
