- Baguette diamonds are often used as accent stones in engagement rings or cocktail rings. They can also be set together to form a cluster ring. Many pieces of Art Deco Jewelry showcase baguette gems fitted together to create intricate designs. Ballerina rings use baguette diamonds to suggest a ballerina tutu swirling around a stone. I’ve seen lately that baguettes have become more popular in costume jewelry...the trend seems to be a ring with baguettes all the way around, or a hoop earring for example, made up of only baguettes making the hoop shape. I’ve seen a lot of the fashion bloggers pushing that type of jewelry in the recent months. Multi colored baguettes arranged together in rainbow fashion, also baguettes in one solid color throughout the jewelry piece. It’s definitely a different look with a stone cute this way. I’ve never been too attracted to the style, but I do like certain pieces, and mostly when they are used as accents for other stones cut in a different way. Lots of details in this video. Well done!

Baguettes like you said beautifully add to a larger stone. The classic baguettes on either side of the larger stone is such a elegant look in my eyes. Didn’t know baguettes didn’t have to be diamonds. But since I love diamonds...I’ve never seen an eternity ring just made of baguettes, but I’ll keep my eye out on that.

L😍v Baguettes... i received a beautiful 52 stone Baguette ring as a "Friendship" ring from a really nice guy who was just a friend 20years ago... had it appraised... it is 2 carats S1 clarity valued at 2k...😲 lots of memories here... i love these better than regular diamonds.

I’m not fan of baguette or emerald cut. Do you like them? Both cut need very high quality of diamond otherwise it just doesn’t look sparkly. Thank You so much for sharing darling ❤️

I love them, I have VVS1 baguettes and round brilliant cut diamonds in my necklace and each offer a different kind of sparkle. Round diamonds are just sparkly, while baguettes have a hall of mirrors effect, I love it when light travels across the step facets of the stone and produces a sharp sheen.

Do baguettes damage easily?
The sharp corners could chip-off if you hit it in the wrong angle due to the crystal structure of diamonds. Princess cut diamonds also have the same issue because of their sharp corners due to their square shape, but it also depends on the type of jewelry that they're set into, it's not ideal to set larger baguettes as main stones in engagement rings, but a large baguette diamond set in earrings or a pendant should be fine. For rings, I think that it would be better to set larger baguette diamonds in a bezel setting to protect their corners, edges, girdles, etc.

Why is it not as common for a baguette stone to be the main stone?
Probably because it doesn't have many cuts. Generally center stones have numerous facets in them to make them sparkle more and to better protect a stone shape with corners.
I've seen some large baguette diamonds that are meant to be set as center stones. These are great examples.

On Etsy I saw an all baguette diamond engagement ring, that's being sold for ($18,933.51)
And on Eragem I saw a 1.50 carat baguette diamond solitaire engagement ring, that sold for ($21,400)
I remember that someone scoffed at me when I said that I liked baguette diamonds. They said that they didn't sparkle as much... but honestly, I love the sharp sparkle and hall of mirrors effect when light travels across the step facets. Screw other people's opinions, wear what you want.
