I’ve played through Outer Worlds I think 6 times, with both DLCs as well - genuinely one of my favourite games.
Outer Worlds is so cool. Its ramshackle, a bit clunky, but its ALSO Fallout Bioshock. At least the look and feel. Its so cool. Also, its the first. Every entry after this will enrich and expand. And its fun!
I love this game. I am playing it for the second time, and I can't wait to finish it to try it on the hardest difficulty. The game is extremely confusing to me, but finding stuff out is a joy. Love the game!
I wanted to like this game so badly, Put in 15 hours and just felt SO underwhelmed by the combat variety and depth, and the weapons/armor. It just feels so Samey, and the enemy variety is so limited. I hope the sequel really digs deeper.
The world is pretty cool. The combat quickly becomes dull and boring.
I completed it 100% prior to the DLC releases...Not really a great game very forgettable and samey planets due to lack of enemy variety and the stories of quests generally being about the same.
I can barely remember any of the characters and didn't find any charming...Still people seem to love this game though I feel this is because people are used to this quality nowadays.
Same bro. I was expecting to really enjoy it. But I’m the same as you, played for maybe 20 hours max. And just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe I should give it another shot 🤷🏻♂️
@@Triforcefilms I really liked it because it was my first introduction to that style of game so in many ways it served as a gateway for me before I started playing games like Fallout, Skyrim, and Cyberpunk.
I have my gripes with the game, but I do love it and have high hopes for the sequel!
I absolutely loved this game when I first played it. I found the humor and characters charming. I thought it was fun for how small of a scope it is. I can't wait for 2! Oh and you could sell that toothpaste recipe thing to that Spacer's Choice moon man guy also. His whole character and conversation is hilarious.
Outer Worlds was one of the most pleasant RPG games I played the past decade. I don't get how people didn't love it. Such charming and pleasant game. I wasn't bored for a single moment. So happy we will be getting a second one.
I tried to beat it a couple of months ago but it just got so infuriating after starting the first dlc (based on level)
I love the first 30 hours though. I discovered many new missions and locations that blew my mind actually
Yeah, that’s the thing with the DLC’s. You gotta be recommended level to play them like you can still play them, but it’s gonna be a bit more difficult but for me there it went smoothly, but the only reason Bing is because for each planet I visited before I played the DLC. I did every single side quest which helped me level up. Also part to help your companion get XP that shares with you while they kill. Also the house leveling up faster and then the first DLC you should’ve played was the peril on gorgon since the recommended lvl for murder on erandos is 36 and up
@@Htx_brenden I was leveled for both of them but peril was such a shit DLC that I just couldn't wait to leave. Stopped playing after that. Moved onto other games
I love the Outer Worlds. It has maybe the best game soundtrack I’ve ever heard.

It's a combination of Fallout and BioShock, the dialog is great and the freedom you have to make your own decisions in this game is so freaking cool, hoping that Outer Worlds 2 has better combat though
I still love to look at this game as being what happens after the Mr House ending in New Vegas.

If Bethesda makes a sequel or spinoff to starfield, i wish it's on a smaller scale and in a different galaxy. I think that might work!

I had put over 30 hours on the base game and all the DLC's. Its a fun experience but the lack of expansive open world maps and the lackluster combat was a slight let down. I really liked the story and some of the worldbuilding. I'm excited to see how the sequel can improve on the story and mechanics. Definitely one of the few new games I've been hyped for.
The concept for this game was awesome, I just think that it could’ve been executed a little better. Hopefully the sequel fleshes everything out a bit more.

I have this rotting away somewhere in my pile of shame. Last game I started I just couldn't get into (or maybe Far Cry 6 is just utterly meh!), so I'm actually free to give The Outer Worlds a try.
A fun game, held up by its writing, and let down by its gunplay. A solid, yet disappointing obsidian game. Bare in mind though they made this game in under two years and had to rush it out the door. I will say the DLC does help make this game a tone better though, its a much higher quality in gameplay and story.
the gameplay isnt that bad. the gunplay gets boring towards the very end of the game but is solid for the most part
I put about 2 hours into this game, then thought to myself, "wtf am I doing?" Put it down, never touched it again. $60 well wasted

Outer worlds wasn't slept on because of it's smaller scale, it was slept on because it plays everything safe. It's a very whelming experinece because there's not much room for player's to have unique experiences. From progression, to decisions in combat, decisions outside combat, etc..
I was playing this too last month. 150 sneak 150 long guns I’m sure you know what I was doing think vats thought it’s not vats in Outer Worlds
I really enjoyed most parts of this game, but I agree that the combat is just...bad. It's boring, and most weapons feel bad. When I first played it, I used primarily rifles and pistols, but they felt so bad to use that I eventually graduated to the heavy weapons, like the light and heavy machine guns. But eventually I only used the light one because the magazine size was so small for the heavy machine gun and I could beat pretty much any enemy on hard difficulty in fewer reloads with the light machine gun. (I think I found a unique version of one too)
The 1 thing I hope for in the sequel is that they overhaul the combat to make it much MUCH better. If they do that and keep the writing and world at the same level, I would be very happy, but of course I hope they make the areas feel fuller and bigger, and maybe something with piloting the ship would be cool, but not a dealbreaker if it isn't there. (as much as I love shipbuilding in starfield, part of me wishes they hadn't bothered and just focused on creating hand made levels instead)
Great Game to play but I wish the survival part (hunger, thirst, sleep) wasn’t locked to supernova difficulty. I hate spongey enemies and permanent companion death (horrible Ai).

Only thing of note is Base game 100% being about 33 hours if your not going for the extra achievements that are basically just save at certain times or replay the game in a different way.

no way theyre embarrassed by their upcoming IP. Microsoft/Xbox needs to step up their marketing game thats all.
the games i'm interested in need to have something special about them for me to play them, something that draws me in, that differentiates them from similar other games and a lot of most popular games don't do that for me, like Horizon or GTA or Spider-Man or Ghost of Tsushima or FFVII Remake just to name a few from the top of my head. but Outer Worlds had the Obsidian pedigree with Fallout-eske gameplay and really good humour so i ended up playing it, but it didn't meet my expectations and it underperformed in a lot of ways.
even though visually it looked great i didn't like the colour palette or how everything was overly colourful. i also didn't like the universe of the game, the expanded story as well as the story itself. even the creatures that looked great felt more like something out of a cartoon than what could exist in that world and universe. the characters were charming and the dialogue had genuine funny moments but overall the entire game, in short, felt very cartoony and i was disappointed it wasn't better.
the only two things i did like however, were the two reasons i even gave the game a try and unfortunately just humour and gameplay weren't enough to keep me interested or for me to say it's a great game. it was good, but not great. so for the sequel i'm unsure if i even wanna sink hours into it. i feel the same way for Avowed. even though it looks good there's absolutely nothing about it that interests me, not even the Obsidian name behind it. FNV is not my favourite Fallout game so even back then Obsidian didn't grab me as much as F3 or F4 did (it's not all about the dialogue). i did expect them to with Outer Worlds because i wanted to really like it, i had high hopes for it, was excited to play it when it released, but it didn't grab me. it's just one of those games that even though it stands out as being different in many ways to me it doesn't stand out in the right ways for me to replay it or play its sequel.

Playable and easy to finish base game under 35 hours,but most people who play will forget about it.
They really didn't try with the Enemies and writing here as nothing truly hooked me even after finishing it 100% prior to them adding DLC.

They relied too much on dumb "Rick and Morty" jokes to tell a serious story, with combat even worse than Fallout 3. What a disappointment, "from the creators of Fallout NV" my ass, the old Obsidian is done and dusted.
