Spot on Ps John, many who despise singing or talking about the wrath of God fail to realise how much it robs them of the goodness and sweetness of the Gospel. The fact that God is so wrathful against sin goes to demonstrate the immensity of His love to us in Christ. Forgiveness of sin is no big deal until we realise how big of a deal it truly is. What a beautiful and theologically rich song we have to confess our faith.
Those who do not want to sing or talk about God’s wrath do so because they do not appreciate his absolute holiness. His holiness is like the power of an atomic bomb; unholy people cannot get too close lest they be destroyed by his holiness. That is why God warned Israel to not approach the mountain as He was giving the law to Moses. We can revel in his presence and find joy in fellowship with Him because He has made us holy. He has done this so that He could enjoy fellowship with us. His presence is the most precious, most beautiful aspect of my life with Christ.
this ain't true. I believe in the complete holiness of God and I believe that God' wrath will indeed be poured out on the wicked ON THE DAY OF WRATH!! The problem with the UNBIBLICAL Theology that the Wrath of God being satisfied at the cross is PRECICELY that THE BIBLE DOESNOT TEACH THAT!! The Cross is NOT a demonstration of God's wrath, NOR that God poured out his wrath on Christ. Rather, the Cross is the SHOWCASE of God's LOVE! In his GIVING UP of his beloved son to be killed by wickedness, and then through that and the resurrection, he TRIUMPHS OVER DEATH and SIN!!
