They both look and perform great. I’m a ZR2 owner here. I looked at the Gladiator, and while I like it, it was too much $ for what I felt I was getting. I’m very happy with my ZR2. I’ve taken several day long trips and it’s very comfortable. I have long legs (36” inseam) and have plenty of room to stretch, drive, and relax.

Throw some really good (resi/adjustable) 2'' lift shocks on the gladiator.. HUGE difference. The stock springs/suspension can handle it with the 2'' lift shocks which increases travel. Then some hydro or metalcloak durospring bumpstops and you're ready to boogie!
Interesting comparison , ZR1 owner here look forward to more truck content . Enjoyed seeing trucks get down and dirty.

I really like the Gladiator interior and dash lay out. Both are very close on WB, the ZR2 has better power with the gas V6. Hiway driving the ZR2 is head and shoulders above the Gladiator. Off road I prefer the ZR2, I have modded front and rear springs and sway bar delete, 4.10's/33's.
This great video I watched was filmed two years ago. What are your opinion of the trucks now? How have they held up? What about mods?
I modded my ZR2 pretty decently and it held up great. I owned the truck for about 2 years but got out of it for a full size. No real reason why, it just made sense.

I would take the Chevy Colorado ZR2
Well, I TRIED to get a ZR2 back in April 2021, but due to GM's chip-shortage, it was parked with 20K other Colorados at GM's Assembly Plant in Wentzville, MO, and there was "no ETA date available" GM told me (and my Chevy dealership). So already waiting 2 months for it with no end in sight I got my $1K deposit back and within 2 days got my Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) off a dealer's lot.

I ordered my 2021 Bison in April and it just arrived 3 weeks ago. I even tried to order a 2022 but I was told a 2022 Bison probably wouldn't happen so I kept the 2021. Happy I did.
But which one would you want to take offroading AND on a 5 hour highway drive? ZR2 > Gladiator imo

I did a road-trip recently from CO to TX and back: The Gladiator was great and VERY close to making the trip in my Honda Pilot -- both were comfortable seat-wise AND smooth-riding on the highway. The ZR2 may be better, but I've no issues using my Gladiator for long road-trips...but I probably would in the shorter-wheelbase Wrangler. Don't know how it would be sitting hours & hours in a Ford Bronco's driver's seat...

@@HorsePowerObsessed I have to agree the Gladiator has terrible road manners, if you’ve never driven a Jeep for any distance, you quickly realize it’s a workout. Your simply tired from constantly having to correct it going down the highway.

I owned a 2012 Rubicon and later a 2018 Wrangler 4dr Sport. Recently bought a ZR2 Bison and I can tell you for a fact there is no way in h*ll Jeeps ride smoother. That is all you have been saying for the first 6 minutes of the video.
Maybe that's the case with the Wrangler, but this Gladiator Rubicon definitely felt like it soaked up bumps better.
Maybe not take it on a grab,e drive way that my bmw can easily go next time?
