Gregory is back when the world needs him
Beautifully said!

The world always needs him. Seriously though, I’m so excited for this album.
LOVE G.A.I 's music but it is so sad to see that one must first agree to whatever CV protocol may be in place to even purchase the tickets though. Where have all the critical thinkers gone...................? There is no music worth that cost.
No matter how difficult, heartbreaking, terrifying, or isolating our lives may be, we can always find refuge in Gregory’s music.
Ab so lute ly TRUE! GROUNDING NEEDED! 😅
Well said
😢this is so true!
You said it all, brother, what a beautiful album this is!
2 AM and your words are wonderful to hear.😊Thank you for your comment!
The moment "The Fall" by Gregory Alan Isakov starts playing, there's an immediate pull. This song feels like the fragility of life captured in notes and lyrics. The repetition of "The fall, the fall, the fall" is like a heartbeat, a rhythmic reminder of the countless times we stumble and try to rise. Isakov speaks of the challenges, from external pressures in lines like "Angles of attack" to the internal struggles we face. Yet, amidst the vulnerabilities, there's an urging chorus - "Get up, get up." It's a call to resilience, to the human spirit that, despite breaking a little with each fall, persists and endures. Every time I hear the line "We all break a little when we fall," it resonates deeply, reminding me of shared human experiences and the collective strength we muster in the face of adversity. This song isn't just heard; it's felt, like a gentle hand reaching out during life's most trying moments, urging you to stand again.
Excellent commentary.
Are you a nurse, writing this comment on your cigarette break
I needed this. Had a tough year, everybody expect me to just be fine after a five year long abuse, loss of home, a drastic change of lifestyle... Gregory thank you for reminding me it's ok to break a little
❤️ 😘
But now I am sure that as it folds, the abuse and the house before well maybe not sure but I do pray, pray to whatever it is you believe in - I pray that you fall like a few drop on leaves and slowly find your way to the reservoir beneath the land and you feel you have fallen into the right place, i do dearly hope ')
Maybe I'm an old fashioned weirdo, but I always buy the CDs. The best place/time to listen to Gregory Alan Isakov is in my car driving! ☺️🎶🥰
Definitely not, I immediately bought the Appaloosa Vinyl as soon as it was available. His music is just meant to be listened beyond digital streaming 😌
Same here. I love holding a physical medium of music in my hands, and since I don't have a record player (a phonograph ;) ), CDs it is.
maybe u need a new car lol
FACTS
BEST SOUND SYSTEM TOO!!!!❤😊
Omg CDs are now old school 😅
"We all break a little when we fall. And everybody keeps saying get up, go on get up." 😭 Cannot wait to hear the rest!!
Lyrics:
The fall, the fall, the fall
I keep stumbling back
Ivory bone opera glass
Angles of attack
You heard blood was thick, brothers and sisters
But ya don't know where anybody's at
Time was a bust
You thought you'd better be tough
Nobody gets past
The trembling wire
And all eyes on you now, on you
We're all holding our breath
All eyes on you now, on you (The fall)
We're still holding our breath
We all break a little
We all break a little
We all break a little when we fall
And everybody keeps saying, "Get up, get up"
The fall, the fall, the fall
"Go on, get up"
The fall, the fall, the fall
THANK YOU!!!
"I'll keep stumbling back",
"opera blast" "with all eyes on you now"(the second one)("the fall" isn't sung here).
,dan' ( fix it if you want)
@@the-bottom-of-a-black-hole-. "Opera Glass" not blast
"I keep .." not I'll keep...
Really hearing the Leonard Cohen influence in the lower range vocals. I love watching his sound evolve
Yes!!! Immediately thought the same
That Gregory Alan Isakov sound, so recognizable. Yet, the song is so unique and different than any that came before. Another gem!
Idk a lot of songs by him, but if u like this one I really advice Lord Huron, his work is kinda similar :)
Yes! Every one of his songs are gems but I'm digging these new ones!

Anyone else crying like a baby after hearing this song? For me, they're happy tears, tears of joy, and of knowing that everything is going to be okay. Thank you Gregory Alan Isakov!
Your dreaming
@KTRK RADIO YOUR END OF THE WORLD STATION so what?
Me too friend, me too. ❤
Yes. ❤
He's been gone gone gone gone gone gone gone gone... but now he's back
My ethereal music genius is back for real.
I fell in love to this album. 3am mornings spent tipsy amidst the night. This is the music that wove its way into my mind as I fell harder and harder in love. I'll never not love this music the way that I love him.
Me too. 😊
One of the best songwriters out there.
I love the line “nobody gets past the trembling wire.” Makes me think about how struggles and especially grief are not optional in life. Connecting this song to the recent death of my mother has been comforting in my mind.
I hope the new album has at least 50 songs on it 😍
!!!
I love that this song's message has duality. Being told "go on, get up" after a fall could be the world around you reminding you that it moves too fast for you to have time to mourn or recover; you just have to keep your head down and keep going. Alternatively, it could be a kind of "tough love" encouragement, because sometimes all you can do is get back onto the "trembling wire" and try again. And there could be other readings too! Because GAI's writing is just incredible like that.
My first exposure to his music was only today. This afternoon, I listened to only his songs. Just subscribed to this channel half an hour ago and here's another song! Great! Bless you, man.😍
You’re a lucky man, older fans have been waiting almost 6 years for this 😂
Lucky fellow
Yeah that’s literally the luckiest thing ever!
Nice, better late than never.. If you haven't listened to these yet, I highly recommend these standouts from each album: San Luis, Living Proof, Master & A Hound, That Sea the Gambler, Arms in the Air and Morning Lady
@Peter Whyman, absolutely agree! @Shamim Ali, I recommend the version GAI posted during lockdown, which appears to have been recorded in his house or studio. (I think you can even hear a fire crackling in the background.)
"It has been 84 years"
I’ve never clicked a video so fast! I’ve waited so long for this!
Me too 😊
Same! ❤
Signature Isakov. His music drops your blood pressure for sure. I have loved everything he has put out.
Soooooo good!!! Gregory is my favorite artist. I’m so happy to have his music in my existence!
We are blessed 😊
I'm so glad I went to The Lumineers concert and I got to discover Gregory and listen that day, since that day I've listened to him almost everyday, best music ever!
I went to a Lumineers concert in San Diego just to see GAI. 😂
But the Lumineers were great too😊
Gregory my mann, his music are like the more I listen the more I discover new tunes.
I am so glad that I'm living life while listening to you Alan! Thankful for your music 🙏
I’m always in awe of how much beauty Gregory can create with simple rhythms and lyrics, and this vid captures that perfectly. Old timey magic.
Just started to listen to his music and all I can say is he's one of the greatest and most underrated artists I've ever known. I'm sure that his new album will be a blast ❤️
I wouldn’t considered him “underrated” per se.
He’s one of, if not, the biggest contemporary folk/Americana artist right now.
Just saw him perform it at Dillon Amphitheater. What an incredible experience. Amazing song that I first heard about 3 months ago. My husband just passed away after a valiant battle with leukemia. And this tightrope between life and death, and his rallies, setbacks, and then ultimately dying is somehow captured for me in this song. I could not get it out my mind. And somehow it’s a companion to my journey with this loss..
his music is so healing
This guy’s music is pure gold. Very very talented musician.
Gregory’s music is magical.
Wow! 👏🏻 So blessed to be one of the first to hear this beautiful song with the new video! Love the low range talk- vocals in between the higher range chorus
😍🎼🎵🎶. You are a stellar gifted man, Gregory!🌌🌠🌝
his lyrics are always so beautiful. August 18 can’t come sooner
Love the unison of the hum and banjo/guitar at the end. They got them really close together
Gregory just continues to prove why he’s the greatest songwriter ever
The world is a little better today for this.
I audibly gasped when this came up, I'm so glad you're making music again! Literally tied for my favorite artist
Out of curiosity, who's the tie with?

The Return of the King 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Thank you Gregory, your poetry is music to my ears. Can't wait to hear the ensemble of tracks on the 18th. Keep writing and inspiring. You have a larger impact on peoples lives than you think.
The return of the king!
You don’t know how I’ve been waiting for this moment 😭😭😭😭
I as a coming of an age (youth) learned simplicity from his songs. I will remember in my adulthood 🥹
Looks like I’ll be having this on repeat until August 18th. Very excited to hear the rest of the album - lovely animation for the music video too 🖤
Awe... This made my day... I got so excited when this popped up.. Thank you Gregory for shining a little light on my day.. Its amazing... Can't wait to hear the rest..❤
He is baaaack! So excited for his new album. I always come back to GAI's music. His songs always give me a sense of calm and peace. Such an underrated artist
Gosh..where did 5 years go? Still listening, it was worth holding on for. What a beautiful song, so glad your back and up ☺️
i would love to think that i found this song randomly on UA-cam but all along i know this song has found me...❤
Have seen Gregory 3 times in the uk always packed to the rafters,in this day and age at least there is something wonderful to look forward to,the master is back!!!
Wow it feels like it’s been so long since I’ve heard a new Isakov song! 🥲 So exciting.
I'm crying.
😔
It took me a few listens but now I have to say that this is the best/most complete album he's ever made. His other albums are amazing with great songs, but I feel this one is almost a concept album in what it's saying to us and the way in which it flows. Love you Greg, you're the best❤
I'M ALREADY CRYING 😭
I love his music. My favourite concert I've ever been to is his
The trapeze swinger with birds as balloons is such a beautiful image. The deserted personified urban animals here is such a cool theme overall. I'm glad to add another song in my everyday listen beside The Stable Song, The Trapeze Swinger, Second Chances, San Luis, and If I Go, I'm Goin. Thanks, Gregory!
Damn, back and better than ever. Epic!!!! Such a sweet relief.
This man is a genius favorite artist by a landslide
I’ve never wanted summer to pass as quickly as right now. August 19th - can’t wait.
I've been playing this song on repeat for around 30 times now. Thank you Gregory Alan Isakov for blessing the world with your music.
Just listened to the full album and this song will always have a special place in my soul! It came out at just the right time for me! So blessed to be in a world with Gregory and the band! Can’t wait to see them in SLC and in Dillon!
My ears are now enlightened ❤😊
Hey if you like Gregory Alan Osakov you might like The Doublejumps
This song is dope. Looking forward to the full album
Wake up to a news of a new Isakov album incoming and a new song available.... That's a good morning.
This clip is a surreal painting!
The GOAT is back.
One of my absolute favorite artists. I discovered his music in 2012 and he has been consistently playing through my radio ever since. I have seen him twice in concert and plan to see him every time it is possible for me when he is nearby. Thank you for another great one to add to the playlist!
Am defo jealous you've seen and heard him live! (Twice)
@@loobylouboti Keep an eye out for his shows! He plays a lot of small venues but there isn't much advertisement for it, so watch your local small venue schedules and hopefully you can catch him at some point! Plus, tickets are very reasonable so you won't have to break the bank to see him live. Good luck!
@@Fast_Travel_Gamer I'm going to assume your'e in the U.S? Lol (Though I could be wrong, ) ) I'm in the UK. And if he tours here I'm pretty sure it would be the usual craic of playing London and possibly Edinburgh, and that would be it. In which case, it sadly wouldn't be possible for me to see him. But hey! One never knows, right? Fingers crossed he ends up in some tiny venue in my home city, where we are mostly only known for our football team, not wearing coats in Winter but our insane hospitality and strange accent. Ha! Thanks though and have a blast and think of me next time you get to see him, :D
@@loobylouboti I am in the US and while most of his shows are here and in Canada, he has been over seas as well. Some of his past shows have been in Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, and the UK (including Glasgow, Manchester, and London). He has expressed that he enjoys playing to small crowds and small towns the most so here's hoping he will find his way near you!
@@Fast_Travel_Gamer Everything crossed he comes to my wee city, Newcastle, in the North East of England, then! It's bloomin' freezing, but we'll give him a warm welcome! :)
Thanks for your comments. TC :)
The more I listen, the more beautiful
So worth the wait! This song was truly magical and I always feel GAI music in my soul.
I need about a thirty minute version of this masterpiece
Hey if you like Gregory Alan Osakov you might like The Doublejumps
If I ever become a very successful director or something someday, I'll have Gregory make the music for all of my movies.
Best wishes 🙏🏽 man
@@anilragade4297 thank you brother
The seven of diamonds, the three of spades and the feather. Art is the universal language. Strangers seemingly relate and the paradox of not feeling understood is understood in the strangest ways. Thank you.💜
Feels Like a _big deep breath,_ A reassuring hug, telling me it’s goin to be ok. ❤
He’s back!!!
It’s so different from his past albums. I’m so excited to see what else is on that album.
thank you for your existence, Gregory.
This song is like a beautiful reminder that stumbling and falling is just part of the journey, and it doesn't define us. "We all break a little when we fall" - such a profound statement. It's a call to embrace our imperfections, to recognize that everyone falters sometimes. The constant "Get up, get up" is pressure, but it's also encouragement. Humans are fragile AND resilient. Leave it to Gregory to transform a simple truth into a profound melody that reminds us of the delicate beauty of "The Fall."
Wow, I never imagined he’d come up with a song more wonderful than Liars, for my personal tastes, but I was wrong and here we are and I’m in heaven with it on repeat… 🎶🎶🎶
addicted to this album, these songs play definitively, I love you! Brazil.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Among the many gifts of this outrageously talented singer and songwriter is an ability to summon family voices from certain moments in time; in this new song (love it!), it's like he coaxes a whole chorus, once again, out of old photo albums and Polaroid shots. Even his way of intoning, "Everyone keeps sayin, get up, get up" is straight out of the mouths of certain dads at certain times. He does this in "Liars" too: imagines a moment back in time, sets it perfectly to music, and we see it crystallize in art. This dude is incomparable-- an American bard!
Thank you for your music Gregory. It means so much to me and I’m thrilled for the new album.
Thank you universe!!!!❤❤❤
I've been waiting for this album since i first heard Appaloosa Bones in concert a year and a half ago
Oh my god a new song!
Love it Greg! Can’t wait to hear the rest - Hopefully see you again soon! Best wishes from Scotland x
I love the way he makes folk instruments sound orchestral in this arrangement! Just beautiful.
Love it! On repeat!
When I met my ex before he passed away it was at the time of your other album 7 years ago… I will never forget when he sang me your song.
I just saw him in Madison back in February, and I'm so excited the new album he mentioned is finally (almost!!) here! I will for sure have this one on repeat for the next three months.
I thank the universe that there are still those like Gregory who strive to reveal beauty to others through their music. Such incredible beauty this music conveys.
I heard this song live tonight - on Father's Day, and I couldn't stop myself from crying. Thank you Gregory, for the gift of your music.
I really like this song. The buildup of the piano and the mood it sets up for this song I’d say feels very hopeful. This song made me think of how we all end up stumbling at some point or another in our lives, hence the “nobody gets past the trembling wire”. This song says how we all break a little but we must get up. It seems to make our stumbling blocks only a part of us that shape us as we go on.
gosh, this song is breathing life into me. thank you Gregory and team, so stoked to see you again this summer in Troutdale. still can't get over your show last summer at Topaz farm on Sauvie island
I love that you recognize the "team," because they are soooo good, each and every one of them. I think my heart would break if I walked into a concert to find Steve, Jeb, Max, or John Paul missing from the stage!
@@jenmooney16 right! every single one of them contribute to this absolute magic. and all of their stage presence is electric!

The first two singles from this album are beyond great.
