Surprised there’s so much slop still, I’m guessing it’s because of the bolt instead of the double pins, looks like it isn’t fully tightened. If you were to do this again I suggest getting “torque solutions solid shifter linkage u-joint”. And also change the other shifter bushings as well. Then you’ll get no slop

Oh yes of course! She is the old ball and chain. Lol. Currently the bronco is safe and sound in a storage unit.

If you actually had the spring for it, it wouldn’t have that play

I have exactly how much play he has at the end after his "fix", but I have a 6 speed 3.0R Liberty (Legacy?). I haven't yet physically looked at what's wrong, just researching at this stage, but would you say that I am probably just missing the spring and if so, making/replacing the spring would fix the majority of my issue?
