      Yep! Especially if you think, the babies do not ask to be born. Nor do they choose the family they are born into. So treating them as humans who need to be discovered and learn to live together is like a "breath of fresh air" of philosophy.

      It's a normal way to talk about it in Japanese language.. It's a beautiful language really.. A lot of people don't understand such Japanese expressions or notice them for the nature of them.. If you pay attention really you'll find out it's a language full of emotions and meaning and carries out feelings or expresses them really well..

    Scientifically speaking, "We've only been together for two years so now I'm focusing on building trust between us rather than making her learn to be patient" is the best thing to do. Our brains wire during early childhood and affect how we experience the rest of our lives. So instead of yelling and trying mainly to discipline when she's not grown enough to understand, planting the basis of states of security and trust is the best thing a parent can give to their children.

    • @shukrantpatil
      @shukrantpatil 3 роки тому +3

      The thing is no parent wants to yell at their kids , but after a specific amount of time even adults loose their patience and end up scolding or yelling

      @@shukrantpatil Where did I say parents yelled at their kids intentionally? I feel like you're projecting, which I understand.
      Two facts can exist at the same time, it's the best thing to do not to yell, and it's so hard to patient and not yell. You can only continue trying your best.

      THis is very true, and children learn from modeled behavior. If she sees her mom keeping patience and calm even when there is a stressful situation, then Sutan understands better how to feel her own feelings and move forward also. It's definitely not easy (my own daughter is about two months older than Sutan, actually) so I really admire Moe's patience in general.

    Our daughter just turned 18 and she’s living on her own in college now.
    We’ve done many things wrong along the way. But one of my biggest mistake was working too much when she was young. I remembered not being able to go to her 1st year in kindergarten shows (she was 4 years old then). I was heart broken and I swore that I would never do that again. I left that job and found a different one that allows me to go to her school shows.
    Seeing you enjoying time with her at her age confirmed for me how precious those years were. They will never return. I’m happy for you. I think you are doing the right thing.

Thank you so much for your all your hard work and dedication. I also follow many of the principles with my child that I recognise in your parenting style with Sutan. I’m really surprised to hear about her femininity struggles, because for me she’s the epitome of femininity. She’s calm, and humble and so patient and nurturing and she has this energy... And now I hear that she wanted to be a boy as a kid... I also would like to say that just because you have a job doesn’t make you “part” of a society more than a housewife. Having a job most of the time means you have a shitty boss, shitty work colleagues and you can’t even spend time with the people you love. You’re doing much more for society raising and loving your child than leaving her to other strangers to take care... Keep going, we love you, Moe :)

      @kaicheek 3 роки тому +37

      I can relate to her struggle. I feel like in society, having a job is still considered to contribute more to society than parenting does, even though that's not true. Also if you work the rewards you get are tangible (money, praise, vacation time) but when it comes to raising your child the work is tedious and the reward you get is to see your child grow and learn. This process is so gradual that if you don't pay attention to it, you don't acually see the fruits of your labour, which makes it easier to not notice it and feel like you're not doing anything while working 24/7.

I rarely ever like videos, much less comment on them, but the amount of rawness you have shown without over sharing made it really enjoyable. The fact that you treat Sutan as an equal is so beautiful, and such a good lesson to all of us when it comes to speaking to children. What you said about depression and allowing yourself to reach that rock bottom really spoke to me. Thank you for sharing so much with your viewers!

      Totally agree! That's why I find it somewhat insensitive that there were a lot of questions asking Moe "if she will go back to work" once Sutan is a little older. The question kind of implies that she isn't working right now although she already is! She takes care of her baby all day while managing a youtube channel, editing videos herself and taking English classes! How is that not working? Why should she go back to a normal office job when she already earns a decent amount of money with her channel and probably pays more taxes than she did previously.

    I love your advice on if we are depressed. Throughout the years I noticed things about myself when I am depressed that I completely have no motivation to do anything. I had people telling me to try do something to get my mind off the depressed feeling but after a while I realized the best way for me to deal with it is to fully embrace the depressed feeling. Sometimes i feel worried if its good to do so. So for you to say "If you're depressed, be depressed all the way" makes me feel so much better about it. And you are right. Once I embrace the feeling, then I can think back on how to move forward. Thank you for saying so. It may be simple to some but hearing you say it lifts a load of my shoulders. I truly respect you.

Now they are grown and we have a good equal relationship where they can come to me for anything and not feel awkward or worried to talk to me. I am really enjoying your channel and hope one day to be able to say more than the few words that you and Sutan have taught me. Liked the comparison of your energy level to a video game. As a kid i just felt the same way as you did, Moe! If anyone told me i couldn't do something because i was a girl, i would step forward and do it, just to prove them wrong! I thought i needed to be more "manly" in order to get validation... But when i reached teen years i tried to be more feminine (for boys ugh 😂) and ended up enjoying that side of me... Being feminine or masculine doesn't tell your worth as a human being, and no one should feel any less for being one or other!

      for example my younger sister ( 2 years apart ) chills the entire day and does not study much
      on the other hand i have been studying 12 hours a day ( for 2 years now ) to get into the top colleges of my country so that i can get the best job out there in my field which would make me capable of starting a family and live a comfy life ....i sometimes ask my sister as per why is she not worried about her future and she's just like " haha , i have to just find a good husband"

    "We live in the same space all the time, so it's important for us to be comfortable with each other". I love this!
    Often Asian families (I know that this also happens elsewhere but I can only speak for what I know) seem to have a master plan set out for their children and they follow this rigidly from the child's birth. This often leads to high expectations, hard love, and pressure from a young age. However, a child's younger years, especially those before starting school, are so crucial to their mental and intellectual well-being AND to their relationships. So, later on, in many families, instead of working with their children to achieve their collective goals, the children end up working for the parents to achieve the parent's goals... From personal experience, even after my parent's parenting style changed while I was in high school, it has taken years to mend, re-establish and "re-learn" how to have a healthy, functioning parent-child relationship. Even now, we're still reluctant to share things, even serious problems, with our parents, and we seem to inadvertently keep things from their too. 😢 All in all, I really admire Moe for her open-minded parenting style even at such a young age. ❤️

    My advice for learning a language is to speak and write a lot in the language you want to learn. Find someone you can speak with (on the Internet or real life) and watch English videos with subtitles. Very important: Don't be shy, it's not embarrassing at all to make mistakes, so when you talk to a person, express yourself as much as you can, with gestures as well. Grammar is not as important while doing this, because you're learning the grammar already in your courses, and you will eventually implement it in your speech. Conversation is a very practical thing so you have to go out of your way and actually find someone to talk to.
    That's all I can tell you, as a German, Russian and English speaker.
